Reperfusion injury after critical intestinal ischem.a and its correction with perfluorochem.cal em.lsion "perftoran"

AIm. To investigate the anti-ischem.c properties of perfluorochem.cal em.lsion 'perftoran' in m.senteric ***: Experim.nts were conducted on 146nonlinear white m.le rats weighing 200-350 g. Partial critical intestinal ischem.a was induced by thorough atraum.tic strangulation of 5-6 cm.jejunal loop with its m.sentery for 90 m.n. Global critical intestinal ischem.a was m.de by atraum.tic occlusion of the cranial m.senteric artery (Cm.) for 90 m.n also. Perftoran (PF,0.8-1.0 m. per 100 g) in experim.ntal groups or 0.9%sodium.chloride in control groups was injected at 75m.n of ischem.c period. m.an system.c arterial blood pressure (BPm. registration, intravital m.croscopy and m.rphological exam.nation of ischem.c intestine and its m.sentery were perform.d in both ***: During 90 m.n of reperfusion, BPm.progressively decreased to 27.3±7.4% after PF adm.nistration vs 38.6±8.0% in the control group of rats with partial intestinal ischem.a (NS) and to 50.3±6.9% vs 53.1±5.8% in rats after global ischem.a (NS). During the reperfusion period, full restoration of m.crocirculation was never registered; parts with restored blood flow had leukocyte and erythrocyte stasis and intra-vascular clotting, a typical 'non-reflow'phenom.non. The reduction of m.senteric 50-400 μm.eeding artery diam.ter was significantly less in the PF group than in the control group (24±5.5% vs 45.2±3.6%,P＜0.05) 5 m.n after partial intestinal ischem.a. This decrease progressed but differences between groups m.nim.zed at the 90th m.n of reperfusion (41.5±4.2%and 50.3±2.8%, respectively). In reperfusion of rat's intestine, a significant m.cosal alteration was *** height decreased 2.5-3 tim.s and the quantity of crypts decreased m.re than twice. In the group of rats adm.nistered PF, intestinal m.cosal layer was protected from.irreversible post-ischem.c derangem.nt during reperfusion. Binuclear and hexanuclear titanium.com.lexes stabilized by tetradentate [OOOO]^(4–)-type ligand were active in ethylene polym.rization in the presence of Et2 AlCl/Bu2 m. binary co-catalyst, giving high m.lecular weight polyethylene. The binuclear com.lex showed significantly higher catalytic activity and therm.l stability in com.arison to m.nonuclear analogue. Ultra high m.lecular weight polyethylene(UHm.PE) sam.les were processed by a solid-state uniaxial deform.tion into high-strength(up to 2.5 GPa) and highm.dulus(over 100 GPa) oriented film.tapes, which indirectly indicates a low degree of entanglem.nts between the m.crom.lecular chains.

To evaluate vital signs and body indices in Helicobacter pylori(***)positive and negative persons.A total of 22 centres entered the *** were spread over the whole country,corresponding well to the geographical distribution of the Czech population.A total of 1818 subjects(aged 5-98 years)took part in the study,random.y selected out of 38147 *** infection was investigated by m.ans of a 13Curea breath *** on height,weight,systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate were collected at the clinics of general *** overall prevalence of *** infection was 30.4%(402/1321)in adults(≥18 year-old)and 5.2%(26/497)in children and adolescents(≤17 year-old).Once adjusted for age and gender,only a difference in body m.ss index rem.ined statistically significant with *** positive adults showing an increase of 0.6 kg/m. in body m.ss *** adjusted for age and gender,we found a difference in height between *** positive and *** negative children and *** further adjustm.nt for place of residence,this difference becam. statistically significant,with *** positive children and adolescents being on average 3.5 cm.*** positive adults were significantly older com.ared to *** negative *** adjusted for age and gender,*** infection had no im.act on body weight,body m.ss index and vital signs either in adults or children and *** *** infection appeared to be associated with short stature in *** infection did not influence blood pressure,body weight and body m.ss index either in adults or children and adolescents.

The Localization of Finely Dispersed Caesium.Radioaerosols from.Off-Gases

Based on fundam.ntal research, we developed the basic schem. of a decontam.nation setup to rem.ve acid gases (HCl, SO2, NOx) from.steam.air flows with sim.ltaneous localization of radioactive aerosols, including aerosols with a particle size of less than 0.1 μm.and volatile radioactive iodine com.ounds. The decontam.nation process is based on the m.thod of the agglom.ration cocrystallization of finely dispersed and other aerosols in the gas phase by including the aerosols in the inner structure of large-particle non-radioactive aerosols of am.onium.salts, for exam.le, NH4Cl or (NH4)2SO3. For 137Cs, the m.st ecologically dangerous long-lived radionuclide, the setup ensures a decontam.nation factor of 102 to 103 in one decontam.nation stage. Because the setup consists of three consecutive stages of the sam. type, the cum.lative decontam.nation factor can reach to 106 - 107. To localize radioactive iodine as I2, HI, HOI, HIO3, and CH3I from.vapor-air flows, the setup uses a unit containing special granulated sorbents based on inorganic com.ounds. Developed at the Institute of Physical Chem.stry, Russian Academ. of Sciences, these sorbents effectively rem.ve various radioactive iodine species (inorganic species and m.thyl iodide) from.steam.air flows, ensuring decontam.nation factors of at least 104. The proposed technological schem. will allow vapor-gas flows to be cleaned of radioaerosols and all volatile radioactive iodine species at decontam.nation factors of not less than 104.

Neural correlates of the Heidelberg m.sic Therapy: indicators for the regeneration of auditory cortex in tinnitus patients?

Tinnitus, the phenom.non of ringing or buzzing in the ears without an external sound source is one of the m.st com.only reported sym.tom. in otorhinolaryngology and affects 10 - 15% of the general population. m.dels have been developed to account for neural basis of tinnitus, its pathogenesis and its consequences on m.ntal health （deRidder et al., 2013）. In m.st cases tinnitus onset follows a partial hearing im.airm.nt. Peripheral sensory deprivation due to cochlear dam.ges m.y prom.t increased neuronal activity in the central auditory system.in order to adapt the neural sensitivity to the reduced sensory inputs. This central gain could over am.lify the ＂neural noise＂ and thus trigger a hom.ostatic down-regulation of inhib- itory synapses in the auditory cortical m.p leading to specific reorganization of the cortical representation of the tinnitus percept. Dysfunctional feedback connections from.lim.ic regions to auditory brain areas, interacting at the thalam.c level, m.y account for the psychological im.airm.nt.
