Performance Estimation of Machine Learning Algorithms in the Factor Analysis of COVID-19 Dataset

Novel Coronavirus Disease(COVID-19)is a communicable disease that originated during December 2019,when China officially informed the World Health Organization(WHO)regarding the constellation of cases of the disease in the city of ***,the disease started spreading to the rest of the *** this point in time,no specific vaccine or medicine is available for the prevention and cure of the *** research works are being carried out in the fields of medicinal and pharmaceutical sciences aided by data analytics and machine learning in the direction of treatment and early detection of this viral *** present report describes the use of machine learning algorithms[Linear and Logistic Regression,Decision Tree(DT),K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN),Support Vector Machine(SVM),and SVM with Grid Search]for the prediction and classification in relation to *** data used for experimentation was the COVID-19 dataset acquired from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering(CSSE),Johns Hopkins University(JHU).The assimilated results indicated that the risk period for the patients is 12–14 days,beyond which the probability of survival of the patient may *** addition,it was also indicated that the probability of death in COVID cases increases with *** death probability was found to be higher in males as compared to *** with Grid search methods demonstrated the highest accuracy of approximately 95%,followed by the decision tree algorithm with an accuracy of approximately 94%.The present study and analysis pave a way in the direction of attribute correlation,estimation of survival days,and the prediction of death *** findings of the present study clearly indicate that machine learning algorithms have strong capabilities of prediction and classification in relation to COVID-19 as well.

Optoelectronic devices based on two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides

In the past few years, two-dimensional （2D） transition metal dichalcogenide （TMDC） materials have attracted increasing attention of the research community, owing to their unique electronic and optical properties, ranging from the valley-spin coupling to the indirect-to-direct bandgap transition when scaling the materials from multi-layer to monolayer. These properties are appealing for the development of novel electronic and optoelectronic devices with important applications in the broad fields of communication, computation, and healthcare. One of the key features of the TMDC family is the indirect-to-direct bandgap transition that occurs when the material thickness decreases from multilayer to monolayer, which is favorable for many photonic applications. TMDCs have also demonstrated unprecedented flexibility and versatility for constructing a wide range of heterostructures with atomic-level control over their layer thickness that is also free of lattice mismatch issues. As a result, layered TMDCs in combination with other 2D materials have the potential for realizing novel high-performance optoelectronic devices over a broad operating spectral range. In this article, we review the recent progress in the synthesis of 2D TMDCs and optoelectronic devices research. We also discuss the challenges facing the scalable applications of the family of 2D materials and provide our perspective on the opportunities offered by these materials for future generations of nanophotonics technology.

Phosphorus partitioning and recovery of low-phosphorus iron-rich compounds through physical separation of Linz-Donawitz slag

The Linz-Donawitz（LD） steelmaking process produces LD slag at a rate of about 125 kg/t. After metallic scrap recovery, the non-metallic LD slag is rejected because its physical/chemical properties are unsuitable for recycling. X-ray diffraction（XRD） studies have indicated that non-metallic LD slag contains a substantial quantity of mineral phases such as di- and tricalcium silicates. The availability of these mineral phases indicates that LD slag can be recycled by iron（Fe）-ore sintering. However, the presence of 1.2wt% phosphorus（P） in the slag renders the material unsuitable for sintering operations. Electron probe microscopic analysis（EPMA） studies indicated concentration of phosphorus in dicalcium silicate phase as calcium phosphate. The Fe-bearing phases（i.e., wustite and dicalcium ferrite） showed comparatively lower concentrations of P compared with other phases in the slag. Attempts were made to lower the P content of LD slag by adopting various beneficiation techniques. Dry high-intensity magnetic separation and jigging were performed on as-received samples with particle sizes of 6 and 3 mm. Spiral separation was conducted using samples ground to sizes of less than 1 and 0.5 mm. Among these studies, grinding to 0.5 mm followed by spiral concentration demonstrated the best results, yielding a concentrate with about 0.75wt% P and 45wt% Fe.

Hand transplanting of vegetable seedlings is always been a time consuming and labourious activity which often leads to muscular *** of hitech instrumentation increased to achieve precision and automation in agricultural *** present the transplanting is done manually which accounts for large amount of hand labour and *** ensure precision and timeliness in operation,an automatic transplanting based on embedded systemfor use in seedling transplanters was *** developed systemconsists of feed roller,pro-tray belt,a pair of L-shaped rotating fingers,embedded system,DC and stepper *** plug seedlings were released into the furrow with use of developed embedded system by actuating DC as well as stepper *** performances of the developed system was tested rigorously at four different operating speeds(1.0,1.5,2.0 and 2.5 km/h)and three angles of pro-tray feed roller(00,300,450)for attaining optimum plant to plant spacing in soil *** result indicated that percent transplanting and plant to plant spacing was found optimum at 2.0 km/h forward speed and 300 angle of pro-tray feed *** average plant spacing,transplanting efficiency,furrow closer,angle of inclination and miss planting were 600 mm,91.7%,90.3%,18.30 and 2.1%,*** developed system ensures the precision by sigulating the placement of seedlings at optimumspacing for sustainable agriculture *** also enabled the optimumtransplanting rate,the ability to transplant at higher speeds and maintaining proper plant to plant spacing.

Tinospora cordifolia attenuates antipsychotic drug induced hyperprolactinemia in Wistar rats

Objective: To evaluate the anti-hyperprolactinemic effect of methanolic extract of Tinospora cordifolia against antipsychotic/neuroleptic drug induced hyperprolactinemia. Methods: A total of 48 Wistar albino rats were chosen in the study. To induce hyperprolactinemia, haloperidol at 5 mg/kg/day was intraperitoneally administered for 16 continuous days and sulpiride at 20 mg/kg/day was administered intraperitoneally for 28 continuous days. Methanolic extract of Tinospora cordifolia at 200 mg/kg/day and 400 mg/kg/day were administered orally 30 min before administration of haloperidol and sulpiride for 16 and 28 days, respectively. Then, we had evaluated prolactin, dopamine and antioxidant status in the treatment group as compared to haloperidol and sulpiride. Results: There was a significant (P<0.05) increase in serum prolactin level and decrease in dopamine level in the haloperidol and sulpiride treated animals. However, methanolic extract of Tinospora cordifolia significantly (P<0.05) decreased serum prolactin level and increased brain dopamine level. Further, superoxide dismutase and catalase level were also decreased significantly in the haloperidol and sulpiride treated groups as compared to those of the control group and the antioxidant status was restored significantly on treatment with methanolic extract of Tinospora cordifolia. Furthermore, methanolic extract of Tinospora cordifolia also reduced total leukocyte count, and increased red blood cell count and hemoglobin concentration. In addition, the spleen did not show signs of infection or inflammation in the experiments. Conclusions: Methanolic extract of Tinospora cordifolia has a significant anti-hyperprolactinemic effect which may be attributed to neuroprotective and antioxidant effects of its signature constituents like stepharanine.

Buried channels provide keys to infer Quaternary stratigraphic and paleo-environmental changes:A case study from the west coast of India

High resolution shallow seismic data was acquired from inner continental shelf of Goa,west coast of India to map underlying stratigraphic and buried geomorphic features of shelf *** data revealed characteristic channel incisions beneath 4-15 m thick sediment layer and corresponds to multi cycle *** analysis of these incision signatures reveals three prominent subaerial unconformities S6,S7 and *** unconformities were exposed during the last glacial,penultimate glacial(MIS-6)and prior to penultimate glacial(MIS-8)*** the basis of interpreted age of subaerial unconformities and differences in their morphological features,observed channel incisions have been divided grossly into three phases of ***-1 incisions are older than^330 kyr BP,whereas,incisions of Phase-2 and Phase-3 correspond to^320-125 kyr BP and^115-10 kyr BP *** form of these incisions varied from a straight channel type to ingrown meander and then to anastomosing channel *** channels meet at the confluence of present-day Mandovi and Zuari *** confluence point has varied in due course of time because of cyclic incision and burial with repeated sea level *** preserved main channel width varies from^100 m to 1000 *** maximum channel depth reaches up to^35 *** of quantitative and qualitative morphologic results of different phases of incisions suggest that Phase-2 channels had^33%more mean bank full discharge than that of the Phase-3 ***-2 incisions had been carved in higher hydraulic energy condition as compared to Phase-3 incisions implying that the Indian summer monsoon was better during formative stages of Phase-2 incisions.

Improving Linear Type Traits to Improve Production Sustainability and Longevity in Purebred Sahiwal Cattle

In order to determine various traits which need to be improved for improving the productive life span and longevity, purebred Sahiwal cows available at bull mother experimental farm and cattle breeding farm located at Veterinary College, Durg, Chhattisgarh, India were used. For present investigation, 17 linear type traits were measured, scaled and scored as per the guidelines of International Committee for Animal Recording （2001）. The average score point （ASP） under 1-9 point scale score system along with respective observed group for different linear type traits were stature （6.88; taller）, chest width （5.30; intermediate）, body depth （4.11; intermediate）, rump angle （4.27; intermediate）, rump width （5.09; intermediate）, rear leg set-side view （4.55; intermediate）, rear leg set-rear view （5.95; intermediate）, foot angle （5.66; intermediate）, udder depth （5.71; intermediate）, rear udder height （4.90; intermediate）, udder balance （5.27; intermediate）, udder cleft （3.75; intermediate）, fore udder attachment （5.55; intermediate）, teat length （3.54; intermediate）, fore teat placement （5.33; intermediate）, rear teat placement （6.37; intermediate） and teat thickness （2.76; narrow）. For most of the traits, ASP which lies near midpoint （i.e. near five） is known to be ideal for dairy type cattle. Moreover, some traits also showed the presence of undesirable ASP. Hence, the traits such as body depth, rump angle, foot angle, udder depth, rear udder height, udder cleft, fore udder attachment, teat length, and teat thickness needs to be improved for improving the production sustainability and herd life of Sahiwal cattle. Thus, present investigation gives explicit clue to incorporate these conformation traits in selection program of this valuable germplasm commonly found in Southern part of Asia （India, Pakistan, Srilanka, etc.）.

Exosomes: Emerging implementation of nanotechnology for detecting and managing novel corona virus-SARS-CoV-2

The spread of SARS-CoV-2 as an emerging novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) had progressed as a worldwide pandemic since the end of 2019. COVID-19 affects firstly lungs tissues which are known for their very slow regeneration. Afterwards, enormous cytokine stimulation occurs in the infected cells immediately after a lung infection which necessitates good management to save patients. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles of nanometric size released by reticulocytes on maturation and are known to mediate intercellular communications. The exosomal cargo serves as biomarkers in diagnosing various diseases;moreover, exosomes could be employed as nanocarriers in drug delivery systems. Exosomes look promising to combat the current pandemic since they contribute to the immune response against several viral pathogens. Many studies have proved the potential of using exosomes either as viral elements or host systems that acquire immune-stimulatory effects and could be used as a vaccine or drug delivery tool. It is essential to stop viral replication, prevent and reverse the massive storm of cytokine that worsens the infected patients’ situations for the management of COVID-19. The main benefits of exosomes could be;no cells will be introduced, no chance of mutation, lack of immunogenicity and the damaged genetic material that could negatively affect the recipient is avoided. Additionally, it was found that exosomes are static with no ability for in vivo reproduction. The current review article discusses the possibilities of using exosomes for detecting novel coronavirus and summarizes state of the art concerning the clinical trials initiated for examining the use of COVID-19 specific T cells derived exosomes and mesenchymal stem cells derived exosomes in managing COVID-19.

Lentil(Lens culinaris Medik) is one of the most important food legumes in the world. The use in lentil of molecular marker-assisted breeding is limited, owing to the low availability of polymorphic markers. In the present study, we developed a set of polymorphic intron-spanning markers(ISMs) using a cross-species mapping approach. In this approach, putative unique transcripts(PUTs) of L. culinaris were mapped onto the Medicago truncatula genome, exploiting its closeness with the lentil genome. Spliced alignment of the PUTs resulted in a total of 25,717 alignments, allowing the development of 1703 ISMs. From these, a subset of 105 ISMs were synthesized and validated with a 51% amplification success rate in 32 lentil genotypes. Of these ISMs, 40(74%) were polymorphic and generated 2–11 alleles per locus in a genetically diverse panel of 32 lentil genotypes including wild *** set of polymorphic ISMs along with their functional annotation data will be useful in lentil breeding.
