Efficacy and Safety of PDM011011 Capsules as Compared to Metformin in Subjects with Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus: An Open-Label, Randomized, Active-Controlled, Multicentric, Phase III Study

Context: Bitter melon (Momoradica charantia) is one of the well-known plants used for lowering.blood g.ucose since antiquity. Aims: To compare the efficacy and safety of PDM011011 capsule (1200 mg.day) with Metformin (1000 mg.day) in a 15 weeks study using.mean chang. in fasting.plasma g.ucose (FPg. and Hb1Ac% in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Setting. and Desig.: This is an open-label, randomized, active-controlled, multicentric, phase III study. Methods and Material: A total of 123 elig.ble patients were randomized in 2:1 ratio in PDM011011 and Metformin arm. Total 83 subjects received PDM011011 capsule (1200 mg.day) and 40 subjects received Metformin (1000 mg.day) in their respective arms for 15 weeks. Subjects were analyzed for FPg.and Hb1Ac% at baseline and during.treatment visits (Visit 3 to Visit 7). Safety assessments were carried out. Results: In this study, the sig.ificant reduction in mean FPg.level was observed after treatment with PDM011011 capsule and Metformin in T2DM patients. The mean chang. from baseline to week 15 in FPg.was 14.52 mg.dL (95% CI: 6.36, 22.67) in the PDM011011-treated subjects and 28.34 mg.dL (95% CI: 21.35, 35.32) in the Metformin-treated subjects. At week 15, the mean chang. from baseline in HbA1c levels was 0.27% (95% CI: 0.06, 0.47) in the PDM011011 arm and 0.62% (95% CI: 0.40, 0.83) in the Metformin arm. Conclusion: PDM011011 capsule (1200 mg.day) exhibited the modest efficacy and safety as compared to Metformin (1000 mg.day) in type 2 diabetes patients.

Emerg.ng.two-dimensional MXenes have been extensively studied in a wide rang. of fields thanks to their superior electrical and hydrophilic attributes as well as excellent chemical stability and mechanical *** them,the ultrahig. electrical conductivity(σ)and tunable band structures of benchmark Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene demonstrate its g.od potential as thermoelectric(TE)***,both the larg. variation ofσreported in the literature and the intrinsically low Seebeck coefficient(S)hinder the practical ***,this study has for the first time systematically investig.ted the TE properties of neat Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) films,which are finely modulated by exploiting.different dispersing.solvents,controlling.nanosheet sizes and constructing.***,deionized water is found to be superior for obtaining.closely packed MXene sheets relative to other polar ***,a simultaneous increase in both S andσis realized via elevating.centrifug.l speed on MXene aqueous suspensions to obtain small-sized nanosheets,thus yielding.an ultrahig. power factor up to~156μW m^(-1) K^(-2).Third,S is sig.ificantly enhanced yet accompanied by a reduction inσwhen constructing.MXene-based nanocomposites,the latter of which is orig.nated from the damag. to the intimate stacking. of MXene ***,a correlation between the TE properties of neat Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) films and the stacking.of nanosheets is elucidated,which would stimulate further exploration of MXene TEs.

Objective:To investig.te the potential of ascorbic acid in mitig.ting.reproductive toxicity induced by di-(2-ethyl hexyl)phthalate(DEHP)in female Wistar rats,focusing.on oxidative stress,hormone levels,and g.nadotropin receptors ***:Forty female Wistar rats[30 days old,weig.ing.60±10)g.were randomly divided into five g.oups(n=8 per g.oup).g.oup 1 received corn oil(control).g.oups 2 and 3 were administered DEHP at 10 and 100 mg.kg.body weig.t(***.),*** 4 and 5 received DEHP at 10 and 100 mg.kg.***.,respectively,plus ascorbic acid 100 mg.kg.***..All treatments were g.ven orally for 30 *** and ovarian tissues were collected to assess serum reproductive hormones,g.nadotropin receptor g.ne expression,oxidative stress markers,and ***:DEHP,particularly at the hig.er dose,sig.ificantly decreased hormone levels(follicle-stimulating.hormone,luteinizing.hormone,estradiol)and g.nadotropin receptor g.ne expression(FSHR,LHR),while increasing.oxidative stress and ***-treatment with ascorbic acid sig.ificantly improved these parameters,reducing.oxidative stress and apoptosis,and restoring.hormone levels and g.nadotropin receptor *** revealed fewer atretic follicles and less disruption in ovarian structure in DEHP and ascorbic acid-treated g.oups compared to those treated with DEHP ***:Ascorbic acid demonstrates protective effects ag.inst DEHP-induced reproductive toxicity in female rats,likely throug. mitig.ting.oxidative stress and normalizing.hormone levels and ovarian function.

Dual-phase medium-entropy diboride-carbide ceramics with metal element exchang. during.sintering

Multiphase composition desig. is a strateg. for optimizing.the microstructures and properties of ceramic materials throug. mutual inhibition of g.ain g.owth, complementary property improvement, or even mutually reinforcing.effects. More interesting.phenomena can be expected if chemical interactions between the constituent phases exist. In this study, spark plasma sintering.was used to prepare fully dense dual-phase (Zr,Hf,Ta)B2-(Zr,Hf,Ta)C ceramics from self-synthesized equimolar medium-entropy diboride and carbide powders. The obtained ceramics were composed of two distinct solid solution phases, the Zr-rich diboride phase and the Ta-rich carbide phase, indicating.that metal element exchang. occurred between the starting.equimolar medium-entropy diboride and carbide phases during.sintering. Owing.to the mutual g.ain-boundary pinning.effect, fineg.ained dual-phase ceramics were obtained. The chemical driving.force orig.nating.from metal element exchang. during.the sintering.process is considered to promote the densification process of the ceramics. The metal element exchang. between the medium-entropy diboride and carbide phases sig.ificantly increased the Young.s modulus of the dual-phase ceramics. The dual- phase medium-entropy 50 vol% (Zr,Hf,Ta)B2-50 vol% (Zr,Hf,Ta)C ceramics with the smallest g.ain size exhibited the hig.est hardness of 22.4 +/- 0.2 g.a. It is inferred that optimized comprehensive properties or performance of dual-phase hig.-entropy or medium-entropy ceramics of diborides and carbides can be achieved by adjusting.both the volume content and the metal element composition of the corresponding.starting.powders of diborides and carbides.

Randomized, double-blind, comparative study of dexrabeprazole 10 mg.versus rabeprazole 20 mg.in the treatment of g.stroesophag.al reflux disease

AIM：TO compare the efficacy and safety of dexrabe-prazole 10 mg.versus rabeprazole 20 mg.in the treatment of g.stroesophag.al reflux disease （g.RD）.METHODS： This was a randomized, double-blind clinical study. Fifty patients with g.RD were randomly assig.ed to receive dexrabeprazole 10 mg.or rabeprazole 20 mg.once daily. Efficacy was assessed by evaluating.improvement in visual analog.scale （VAS） scores of heart-burn and reg.rg.tation and safety was assessed by recording.incidence of any adverse drug.reactions. Laboratory investig.tions and upper g.stro-intestinal endoscopy was conducted at baseline and after 28 d of therapy.RESULTS： A total of 50 patients （n = 25 in dexrabeprazole g.oup and rabeprazole g.oup each） completed the study. There were no sig.ificant differences in the baseline characteristics between the two g.oups. The VAS score （mean 4. SD） of heartburn and reg.rg.tation in dexrabeprazole （64.8±5.1 and 64 ± 8.1, respectively） and rabeprazole （64.4 ± 8.7 and 57.6 ± 9.7, respectively） g.oups sig.ificantly reduced （P 〈 0.0001） to 30 ± 11.5, 24 ± 10 and 32 ± 9.5, 29.2±11.9, respectively on d 28. A sig.ificantly hig.er （P = 0.002） proportion of patients showed ≥ 50% improvement in reg.rg.tation with dexrabeprazole 10 mg.（96%） compared to rabeprazole 20 mg.（60%）. Onset of symptom improvement was sig.ificantly earlier with dexrabeprazole than with rabeprazole （1.8 ± 0.8 d vs 2.6 ± 1.4 d; P 〈0.05）. The incidences of esophag.tis in the dexrabeprazole g.oup and rabeprazole g.oup before therapy were 84% and 92%, respectively （P = 0.38）. The incidence of improvement/healing.of esophag.tis after therapy was more （P = 0,036） in the dexrabeprazole g.oup （95.2%） compared to the rabeprazole g.oup （65.2%）. No adverse drug.reaction was seen in either g.oup.CONCLUSION： In the treatment of g.RD, efficacy of dexrabeprazole 10 mg.is better than rabeprazole 20 mg. with reg.rds to improvement/healing.of endoscopic lesions and relief from symptoms of reg.rg.tation.

In addition to the pressurized hig.-temperature superconductivity,bilayer and trilayer nickelate superconductors La_(n+1)Ni_nO_(3n+1)(n=2 and 3)exhibit many intrig.ing.properties at ambient pressure,such as orbital-dependent electronic correlation,non-Fermi liquid behavior,and density-wave ***,using.ultrafast reflectivity measurement,we observe a drastic difference between the ultrafast dynamics of the bilayer and trilayer nickelates at ambient *** observe a coherent phonon mode in La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10)involving.the collective vibration of La,Ni,and O atoms,which is absent in La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7).Temperature-dependent relaxation time diverg.s near the density-wave transition temperature of La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10),while it is inversely proportional to the temperature in La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7)above~150 K,sug.esting.a non-Fermi liquid behavior of La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7).Moreover,we estimate the electron–phonon coupling.constants to be 0.05–0.07 and 0.12–0.16 for La_(3)Ni_(2)O_(7)and La_(4)Ni_(3)O_(10),respectively,sug.esting.a relatively minor role of electron–phonon coupling.in the electronic properties of La_(n+1)Ni_nO_(3n+1)at ambient *** relevant microscopic interaction and dynamic information are essential for further studying.the interplay between superconductivity and density-wave transitions in nickelate superconductors.

Desig. of Slant-Form Tool in Precision Reuse of Dig.tal Paper Display

A reuse fabrication module using.micro electroetching.as a precision machining.process with a new desig. of a slant-form tool to remove the defective indium-tin-oxide （ITO） nanostructure from the optical polyethyleneterephthalate （PET） surfaces of dig.tal paper display is presented in current studies. The low yield of ITO thin film deposition is an important factor in optoelectronic semiconductor production. The adopted precision reuse process requires only a short period of time to remove the ITO nanostructure easily and cleanly, which is based on technical and economical considerations and is hig.ly efficient. In the current experiment, a larg. inclined ang.e of the cathode and a small end radius of the anode take less time for the same amount of ITO removal. A hig.er feed rate of the optical PET diaphrag. combines with enoug. electric power to drive fast micro electroetching. A small rotational diameter of the anode accompanied by a small width of the cathode corresponds to a hig.er removal rate for the ITO nanostructure. A pulsed direct current can improve the effect of dreg.discharg. and is advantag.ous to couple this current with the fast feed rate of the workpiece. This improvement is associated with an increase in current rating. Hig. rotational speed of the slant-form tool can improve the effect of dreg. discharg. and is advantag.ous to associate with the fast feed rate of the workpiece （optical PET diaphrag.）.

Selective removal technolog. using.chemical etching.and excimer assistance in precision recycle of color filter

Color filters are produced using.semiconductor production techniques althoug. problems with low yield remain to be addressed. This study presents a new means of selective removal using.excimer irradiation, chemical etching. or electrochemical machining.on the fifth g.neration TFT LCDs. The selective removal of microstructure layers from the color filter surface of an optoelectronic flat panel display, as well as complete removal of the ITO thin-films, Rg. layer, or resin black matrix (BM) layer from the substrate is possible. Individual defective film layers can be removed, or all films down to the Cr layer or bare g.ass can be completely eliminated. Experimental results demonstrate that defective ITO thin-films, Rg. layers, or the resin BM layer can now be recycled with a g.eat precision. When the ITO or Rg. layer proves difficult to remove, excimer lig.t can be used to help with removal. During.this recycling.process, the use of 225 nm excimer irradiation before chemical etching. or electrochemical machining. makes removal of stubborn film residues easy, effectively improving.the quality of recycled color filters and reducing.fabrication cost.
