A CFD-DEm model is developed for chemical vapour deposition of silane in a fluidized bed reactor to investigate the effect of polydispersity on local phase dynamics,mass and heat transport,as well as the rate of Si *** gas-phase fines formation and heterogeneous deposition on the seed particle,as well as the scavenging effect for Si particle growth,are *** method is first validated against the experimentally measured Si deposition rate,percentage of fine production and minimum fluidisation ***,the properties,primarily particle intermixing,fluidisation behaviour and bubble dynamics along with the deposition process,are analyzed for several polydisperse beds under various operating *** effect of polydispersity of the bed on a fraction of the bubble size,dense phase expansion and interchange coefficient between various phases is thoroughly investigated to establish a correlation with reactor *** results show that broad-Gaussian particle size distribution(PSD)exhibits excellent improvement in fluidisation behaviour,resulting in a high deposition rate,and minimum formation of Si fines.

Purpose The constant work-rate to exhaustion tests must be repeated several times at each work-rate to estimate subject-level trial-to-trial variance(intra-individual variability,IIV)of critical power(CP)and work capacity(W').Alternatively,these parameters and their variance can be estimated by repeating the 3-min all-out test(3mT)fewer *** purpose of this study was to propose a method to determine subject-level repeatability of the 3mT and demonstrate the need to repeat the test multiple times to estimate *** Seven cyclists performed a ramp test and four 3mTs on a *** parameters CP,W',peak power(Pp),and total work(TW)were compared across trials using repeated measures ANOVA,Bland-Altman analysis,Intraclass Cor-relation Coefficients(ICC),Typical Error(TE)of measurement,and Coefficient of Variation(CV).Results For the group,average CP and W'were 284±58 W and 10.214±3.143 *** reliability statistics,CP(ICC=0.97,TE=8 W,CV=2.94%)and W'(ICC=0.88,TE=1.11 kJ,CV=10.87%),indicated strong ***-level repeatability was determined by comparing time-to-peak power(TPp),absolute difference in Pp(δPp),and TW(δTW)for pairs of *** average IIVs estimated by the 95%confidence intervals were±15 W for CP and±1.68 kJ for W'.Conclusions Thresholds are proposed for TPp(7 s),δPp(10%),andδTW(3%)to determine subject-level repeatability of the 3mT before computing the IIV of CP and W'.It is suggested that the 3mT is repeated at least three times to estimate the IIV,which aids in personalized measurement of training improvements and performance optimization。

Objective:To evaluate the hepatoprotective activity of Terminalia paniculata against paracetamol induced hepatic damage in ***:The plant material was shade dried, powdered and extracted with *** 52 and silymarin were used as standard drugs and 2%gum acacia as a control(vehicle).Alteration in the levels of biochemical markers of hepatic damage like AST,ALT,ALP and lipid peroxides were tested,and phytochemical tests were also ***:Paracetamol(2 g/kg) increased the serum levels of alanine aminotransfer (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(ALP) and the lipid peroxides. BACKGROUND Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDm) is a common metabolic derangement in pregnant women. In the women identified to be at high risk of GDm, a 75 g oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT) at 24-28 wk gestation is the recommended screening test in the United Kingdom as per National Institute for Health and Care Excellence(NICE). Hypoglycaemia following the glucose load is often encountered and the implication of this finding for the pregnancy, fetus and clinical care is *** To determine the prevalence of hypoglycaemia at any time during the screening OGTT and explore its association with birth *** All deliveries between 2009 and 2013 at the local maternity unit of the University hospital were reviewed. Of the total number of 24,154 women without preexisting diabetes, those who had an OGTT for GDm screening based on NICE recommended risk stratification, who had a singleton delivery and had complete clinical and demographic data for analysis, were included for this study(n =3537). Blood samples for fasting plasma glucose(FPG), 2-hour plasma glucose(2-h PG) and HbA1 c had been obtained. Birth weight was categorised as low(≤ 2500 g), normal or macrosomia(≥ 4500 g) and blood glucose ≤ 3.5 mmol/L was used to define hypoglycaemia. Binary logistic regression was used to determine the association of various independent factors with dichotomized variables; the differences between frequencies/proportions by χ~2 test and comparison between group means was by one-way *** Amongst the study cohort(3537 deliveries), 96(2.7%) women had babies with LBW(men who delivered a LBW baby had significantly lower FPG(4.3 ± 0.6 mmol/L, P = 0.001). The proportion of women who had a 2-h PG ≤ 3.5 mmol/L in the LBW cohort was significantly higher compared to the cohorts with normal and macrosomic babies(8.3% vs 2.8% vs 4.2%; P = 0.007). The factors which predicted LBW were FPG, Asian ethnicity and 2-h PG ≤ 3.5 mmol/L,whereas maternal age, 2-h PG ≥ 7.8 mm

Nanocrystalline titanium dioxide powder was synthesized by in-flight oxidation of titanium dihydride （TiH2） powder in a thermal plasma jet. TiH2 powder was injected into the thermal plasma jet and allowed to react with oxygen injected downstream the jet. Characteriza- tion of the powder by various analytical tools indicated that the powder consisted of nano-sized titanium dioxide particles consisting predominantly of the anatase phase. It is suggested that the thermo-chemistry of the oxidation process contributes significantly to the formation of nano-sized titania. The large energy released during the oxidation process dissociates the TiO2 particles into TiO（g） and titanium vapour, which recombine downstream with oxygen and form nano particles of TiO2.

A small focused library of eighteen new 1,2,3-triazole tethered acetophenones has been efficiently prepared via click chemistry approach and evaluated for their antifungal and antioxidant *** antifungal activity was evaluated against five human pathogenic fungal strains：Candida albicans,Fusarium oxysporum,Aspergillus flavus,Aspergillus niger,and Cryptococcus *** the synthesized compounds,9c,9i,and 9p found to be more potent antifungal agents that the reference *** 1,2,3-triazole based derivatives were also evaluated for antioxidant activity,and compound 9h was found to be the most potent antioxidant as compared to the standard ***,molecular docking study of the newly synthesized compounds was performed and results showed good binding mode in the active site of fungal *** enzyme P450 cytochrome ***,the synthesized compounds were also analyzed for ADmE properties and showed potential as good oral drug candidates.

In this paper, an adaptive subcarrier allocation scheme with reconfiguration of operating parameters for Cognitive Radio Networks (CRN) is presented. A QoS-conscious spectrum decision frame work is projected, where spectrum bands are determined by considering the application requirements as well as the dynamic nature of the spectrum bands. The novel subcarrier allocation algorithm is developed to fulfill different performance objective as a solution for subcarrier allocation and power allocation problem for Cognitive Radio (CR) users in CRNs. It employs operating frequency parameter modification using Proportional Resource Algorithm and Genetic Algorithm (GA). The multi objective optimization problem with equality and inequality constraint is considered. moreover, a dynamic subcarrier allocations scheme is developed based on GA to decide on the spectrum bands adaptively dependent on the time-varying CR network capacity. The proposed algorithm targets to achieve maximum data rate for each subcarrier, maximize the overall network throughput and maximize the number of satisfied user under the constraints of bandwidth and guarantee Quality of Service (QoS) requirement from dynamic spectrum management (DSm) perspective. moreover, it determines the best available channel.

The chalcones (1,3-diaryl-2-propenones) and their derivatives are important intermediates in organic synthesis and have widespread applications in medicinal industry. The title choloro chalcone derivative, 3-(3-chloro-4,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-(4,5-dimethoxy-2-methyl phenyl) prop-2-en-1-one, has been synthesized. It is characterized by FTIR, 1H NmR, 13C NmR and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Title compound crystallizes in monoclinic space group C2/c with a = 23.540(11) ?, b = 9.738(4) ?, c = 17.305(7) ?, β = 106.37 (3)°, V = 3806(3) ?3 and Z = 8. The mean plane of the two substituted benzene rings are twisted by 66.29 (12)° with respect to each other. Ab-initio and density functional Theory (DFT) calculations have been carried out for the title molecule using RHF/6-311G and B3LYP/6-311G basis set respectively. The calculated results show that the predicted geometry can well reproduce structural parameters. In addition, frontier molecular orbitals and mullikan charge distributions are carried out by using RHF and B3LYP methods. The calculated HOmO and LUmO energies show that charge transfer occurs in the molecule. Numbers of weak but significant interactions like C-H···O, C-H···π and π-π are involved in the stability of the structure. The weak π-π stacked interaction involves the centroids of the methyl phenyl rings with Cg-Cg separation distance of 3.857(2) ?. Synthesized compound has been screened for its antimicrobial activity against different panels of organisms.

An HPLC method is presented for the separation and determination of lanthanides (Lns), thorium (Th), uranium (U) and plutonium (Pu) from irradiated (Th, Pu)O2. Individual separation of Lns, Th, U and Pu is a challenging task becauseof 1) lanthanideshavingsimilar physical and chemical properties, 2) presence of complex matrix like irradiated fuel and 3) the co-existence of multiple oxidation states of Pu. Different procedures were developed for separation of individual lanthanides and *** individual lanthanides were separated on a dynamically modified reversed phase (RP) column using n-octane sulfonic acid as an ion interaction reagentand employingdual gradient(pH and concentration) of α-hydroxyisobutyric acid (HIBA). In order to improve the precision on the determination of Lns, terbium (Tb) was used as an internal standard. The method was validated employing simulated high level liquid waste. Concentrations of lanthanides viz. lanthanum (La) and neodymium (Nd) in the dissolver solution were determined based on their peak areas. Th, U and Pu were separated on a RP column using mobile phase containing HIBA and methanol. Since Pu is prone to exist in multiple oxidation states, all the oxidation states were converted into Pu (IV) using H2O2 in 3m HNO3. Under the optimized conditions, Pu(IV) eluted first followed by Th and U. The concentrations of Th, U and Pu were determined by standard addition method andwere found to be 1.10 ± 0.02 mg/g, 5.3 ± 0.3 μg/g and 27 ± 1 μg/g, respectively, in the dissolver solution of irradiated fuel. These values were in good agreement with the concentration of Th determined by biamperometry and those of U and Puby isotope dilution thermal ionization mass spectrometry.
