Spiritual Forests—A Nature Conservation Model of Ethnic Minority Communities in Central viet Nam

This paper aims to analyze and evaluate a model of forest conservation and management of ethnic minority (or indigenous) people in central vietnam, often referred to as the spiritual forest. These forests, called sacred forest or ghost forests by the ethnic minority people in Thua Thien Hue province, have existed for a long time among forest residents. However, they have recently declined, both in quality and quantity, due to various factors, including changes in society, economy, environment, and perception, among other reasons. Based on research conducted in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province with household interviews, group discussions, and field surveys, we find that spiritual forest retains religious and human significance. They are also often among the last remaining natural forests left due to deforestation by human activities. The research results indicate challenges that conservation of spiritual forest may face, while giving recommendations derived from communities for sustainable forest development and conservation in the region.

Background Clonorchiasis and opisthorchiasis, caused by the liver flukesClonorchis sinensis andOpisthorchis viverrini respectively, represent significant neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in Asia. The co-existence of these pathogens in overlapping regions complicates effective disease control strategies. This study aimed to clarify the distribution and interaction of these diseases within Southeast *** We systematically collated occurrence records of human clonorchiasis (n = 1809) and opisthorchiasis (n = 731) across the Southeast Asia countries. Utilizing species distribution models incorporating environmental and climatic data, coupled machine learning algorithms with boosted regression trees, we predicted and distinguished endemic areas for each fluke species. Machine learning techniques, including geospatial analysis, were employed to delineate the boundaries between these *** Our analysis revealed that the endemic range ofC. sinensis andO. viverrini in Southeast Asia primarily spans across part of China, vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. During the period from 2000 to 2018, we identifiedC. sinensis infections in 84 distinct locations, predominantly in southern China (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) and northern vietnam. In a stark contrast,O. viverrini was more widely distributed, with infections documented in 721 locations across Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and vietnam. Although fibers are used only infrequently as an additive in concrete in the construction industry,fiberenhanced concrete is known to provide a wide range of advantages over conventional *** main objective of this study was to investigate the influences of fiber type and content on the mechanical properties and durability of highperformance fiber-reinforced concrete(HPFRC)designed using a novel densified mixture design algorithm with fly ash and rice husk *** types of fiber,including polypropylene(PP)fiber,steel fiber(SF),and hybrid fiber(HF),were *** on the results,the inclusion of fibers decreased HPFRC flowability,regardless of fiber *** the compressive strength of HPFRC with 1.6%PP fiber content was 11.2%below that of the reference HPFRC specimen at 91 d of curing age,the 91-d compressive strengths of both SF and HF-enhanced HPFRC specimens were significantly better than that of the reference HPFRC ***,the HPFRC specimens incorporating SF and HF both exhibited better splitting tensile and flexural strengths as well as less drying shrinkage than the HPFRC specimens incorporating PP ***,the fiber-enhanced specimens,especially those with added SF,registered less surface electrical resistivity and greater vulnerability to chloride ion penetration than the reference HPFRC specimen.

New analyses of earlier ALMA observations of oxygen-rich AGB star EP Aquarii are presented,which complete a previously published analysis and offer a different interpretation of the morpho-kinematics of the circumstellar *** birth of the equatorial density enhancement(EDE)is shown to occur very close to the star where evidence for rotation has been *** to the star and where outflows have been observed:their interaction with the gas of the nascent EDE is seen to play an important role in the development of the wind and the evolution of its radial velocity from 8 to 10 km s^(-1) on the polar symmetry axis to~2 km s^(-1) at the *** implies complex morpho-kinematics:making reliable interpretations with reasonable confidence is *** particular,it questions an earlier interpretation implying the presence of a white dwarf companion orbiting the star at an angular distance of -0″4 from its *** proposes instead an interpretation in terms of a standard mass ejection associated with a shock wave leaving a void of emission in its *** Doppler velocity wings are seen to consist of two components,the upper velocity end of the global wind,reaching above±12 km s^(-1),and an effective line broadening,confined within 200 mas from the center of the star,reaching above±20 km s^(-1) and interpreted as caused by the pattern of shock waves resulting from the interaction between stellar pulsation and convective cell partition.

In this work,we investigate a classical pseudomonotone and Lipschitz continuous variational inequality in the setting of Hilbert space,and present a projection-type approximation method for solving this *** method requires only to compute one projection onto the feasible set per iteration and without any linesearch procedure or additional projections as well as does not need to the prior knowledge of the Lipschitz constant and the sequentially weakly continuity of the variational inequality mapping.A strong convergence is established for the proposed method to a solution of a variational inequality problem under certain mild ***,we give some numerical experiments illustrating the performance of the proposed method for variational inequality problems.

Objective:To evaluate hepatitis B virus(HBV)vaccine coverage and its associated factors among health science students in ***:This cross-sectional study involving 459 health science students at Tra Vinh University was conducted between April and June *** were collected using a structured questionnaire with items on sociodemographic characteristics,knowledge and attitude about HBV,and vaccination status.A multivariable logistic regression model was used to explore the factors associated with vaccination ***:The majority of participants were female(65.8%)and enrolled at the medical school(56.2%).A total of 30.3%participants received the full dose of the HBV *** percentages of participants with sufficient knowledge and positive attitudes toward HBV infection were 75.2%and 43.4%,*** was 11.8 times higher in sixth-year medical students than any healthcare student in their first-year[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)11.8,95%CI 3.1-45.1,P<0.001],and the coverage was also significant higher in those who had sufficient knowledge(aOR 2.0,95%CI 1.1-3.9,P<0.05)and positive attitudes(aOR 3.0,95%CI 1.9-4.8,P<0.05)than in their ***:The majority of students were not fully vaccinated against HBV,indicating they were vulnerable to the *** and authorities should reinforce health education messages aimed at encouraging all students to get vaccinated with the HBV vaccine,enhance their awareness and knowledge of HBV,and improve attitudes toward HBV infection prevention.

NOx emissions cause many negative impacts on the living *** photocatalysis of semiconductors is superior for nitric oxide(NO)degradation due to their low redox *** this report,we combine SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction photocatalyst toward the high selectivity into green products under visible light *** show that SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction degraded 40.8%of NO,which is 1.6 times higher than that of g-C_(3)N_(4).In addition,the selectivity coefficient of SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)is higher 3 times than both pure SnO_(2-x)and g-C_(3)N_(4).Furthermore,SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)expresses a superior stability for NO photocatalytic-degradation after five *** scavenger trapping test results,and electron spin resonance(ESR)analysis also provide more understanding of the charge transfer mechanism of ***_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction shows a high removal efficiency of NO gas,making it an up-and-coming environmental treatment candidate.

Deep learning(DL)models currently employed in materials research exhibit certain limitations in delivering meaningful information for interpreting predictions and comprehending the relationships between structure and material *** address these limitations,we propose an interpretable DL architecture that incorporates the attention mechanism to predict material properties and gain insights into their structure–property *** proposed architecture is evaluated using two well-known datasets(the QM9 and the Materials Project datasets),and three in-house-developed computational materials ***–test–split validations confirm that the models derived using the proposed DL architecture exhibit strong predictive capabilities,which are comparable to those of current state-of-the-art ***,comparative validations,based on first-principles calculations,indicate that the degree of attention of the atoms’local structures to the representation of the material structure is critical when interpreting structure–property relationships with respect to physical *** properties encompass molecular orbital energies and the formation energies of *** proposed architecture shows great potential in accelerating material design by predicting material properties and explicitly identifying crucial features within the corresponding structures.

The current study presents the effects of seasonal variations in the depth-of-closure（D;） on shoreline evolution using a numerical,one-line shoreline *** erosion of the southern beach of the Nha Trang Coast,which is located in south central of vietnam,is selected as the study *** study area is immensely influenced by the tropical monsoon climate that has a clear pattern of large waves in the northeast monsoon season and calm waves in the non-monsoon *** analysis of the long-term measured shoreline variations from a video-camera system has found a strong correlation of these variations to the monsoon-dominated wave characteristics in the Nha Trang ***,a new approach for determining the depth-of-closure with consideration of the seasonal wave climate changes is purposed in the current *** implementing this new approach into a numerical,one-line shoreline model,it is found that the seasonal variations of D;appear to better describe the periodical shoreline evolution due to the monsoon-dominated wave characteristics for the Nha Trang *** important findings are considered to commonly apply for monsoon-dominated coastal regions in *** findings are useful information not only for scientific readers but also for the coastal authorities and managers in order to make better countermeasure plans against this kind of erosion mechanism in the future.
