Nowadays, cancer is one of the main worldwide causes of death and an increasing issue in public health. in the European Union, it is the first work-related cause of death. Studies about occupational risk exposure are a useful field of investigation to determine cancerous elements;special attention is paid to the relationship between cancer and work in women, who must constantly adapt to the working market and the new working fields, with their diverse degrees of exposure to risks. This revision has reviewed the bibliography gathered in Medline related to breast cancer, cervix cancer, uterus cancer, and ovarian cancer, along with their relationship with different work-related risks and types of working roles. The results have shown enough scientific evidence to suspect that work related exposition could be a plausible cause of these gynaecological cancers. Therefore, we want to stress the need of enhancing the coordinated investigation between all the medical specialties involved, and to encourage the spread of the necessary knowledge to manage and prevent them.

introduction: COViD-19 disease is a highly contagious viral infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. There is growing interest in Public Health and Occupational Health in identifying the COViD-19 prognostic factors, needed to stratified patients by risk being necessary to consider occupational variables as well as individual and clinical factors of the workers. Objective: The aim of this study was to perform a tool to identify the more vulnerable workers for COViD-19 that will be useful to value their work limitations. Methods: A review of medical literature about the vulnerability for COViD-19 is taken into account occupational risks and occupational preventive measures. Results: it is proposed an index of vulnerability criteria for COViD-19 in workers based on quantifying individual characteristics, pre-existing medical conditions and its control, high risk of occupational exposure, and prevention and protection strategies in the workplace. The final result is stratified into three degrees of vulnerability that will serve to propose the most appropriate preventive measures. Conclusion: This proposal protocol assesses about the vulnerability for COViD-19 infection in workers to help decide the preventive management at workplace in this pandemic situation.

introduction: Vulnerable is someone who can be hurt or receive injury, physically or morally. The work environment appears as one of the dimensions in which social vulnerability develops and social and occupational vulnerability is defined. The literature does not include an assessment of quantified occupational vulnerability as it already exists in the case of social vulnerability. The aim of this paper is to identify and quantify the variables included in the Protocol for the Assessment of Vulnerability to COViD-19 in such a way that the result can be quantified and allows for a predictive effect on the degree of vulnerability. Methodology: The starting point is the design of a protocol proposal that includes 29 variables. Data is collected from a sample of 420 workers, quantifying the results according to each variable, the overall scores for each group of aspects assessed and, finally, the total score that estimates the degree of vulnerability according to established ranges. Results: Variables that have the highest coefficient and, therefore, the greatest weight in the probability of reaching a group of high or medium vulnerability are cardiovascular disease, cancer, and coagulation alteration. The weight of the labour aspects due to inadequate working conditions stands out. Conclusions: The results obtained with this protocol allow us to make a quantified assessment of labour vulnerability to COViD-19 by integrating individual variables of the worker, his working conditions and the preventive actions of his company against COViD-19, and can be useful as an Occupational Vulnerability index (OVi).

Concentrations and sources of an emerging pollutant, decabromodiphenylethane (DBDPE), in sewage sludge for land application

The presence of an emerging brominated flame retardant, decabromodiphenylethane （DBDPE）, has been confirmed in Spanish sewage sludge. Thirty one samples from different urban wastewater treatment plants （WWTPs） were analyzed for this brominated flame retardant. DBDPE was positively identified and quantified in all samples at lower concentrations （47.0 ± 29.7 ng/g dry weight （dw）; mean ± SD） than those obtained for decabromodiphenyl ether （Bde-209）（290 ± 236 ng/g dw; mean ± SD） in a previous study. influence of the WWTP characteristics in the pollutant levels was evaluated. No significant correlations were obtained between DBDPE concentrations and the population or sewage sludge production rate associated with the plants, neither wastewater treatment method. Sources of DBDPE in the sludge were also evaluated. Data indicate a common origin for DBDPE and Bde-209, which may be related to leaching processes during the use and disposal of consumer products containing these chemicals. Nevertheless, DBDPE contents are not influenced by industrial activities, which suggests that the infusion of DBDPE commercial mixture is not a source of this chemical into the environment, and indicates that the use of DBDPE in the Spanish industry is still low compared to deca-Bde.

The role that the environment plays in vector-borne parasite infection is one of the central factors for understanding disease *** assessed how Neotropical bird foraging strata and habitat preferences determine infection by parasites of the genera Haemoproteus,Plasmodium,Leucocytozoon,and Trypanosoma and filarioids,and tested for phylogenetic signal in these host-parasite *** performed extensive searches of the scientific literature and created a database of hemoparasite *** collected data on host body mass,foraging strata,habitat preference,and migratory status,and tested if host ecological traits predict each hemoparasite occurrence and prevalence using a phylogenetic Bayesian *** of Plasmodium tend to infect birds from tropical forests while birds from altitudinal environments are likely to be infected by species of *** probability of a bird being infected by filarioid or Trypanosoma is higher in lowland *** species that occur in anthropic environments and dry habitats of tropical latitudes are more susceptible to infection by species of *** foraging strata is also influential and bird species that forage in the mid-high and canopy strata are more prone to infection by species of Haemoproteus and *** also identified phylogenetic signal for host-parasite associations with the probability of infection of Neotropical birds by any hemoparasite being more similar among more closely related *** provided a useful framework to identify environments that correlate with hemoparasite infection,which is also helpful for detecting areas with potential suitability for hemoparasite infection due to land conversion and climate change.

The North Atlantic Oscillation （NAO） is one of the leading modes of climate variability in the Northern Hemisphere. it has been shown that it clearly relates to changes in meteorological variables, such as surface temperature, at hemispherical scales. However, recent studies have revealed that the NAO spatial pattern also depends upon solar forcing. Therefore, its effects on meteorological variables must vary depending upon this factor. Moreover, it could be that the Sun affects climate through variability patterns, a hypothesis that is the focus of this study. We find that the relationship between the NAO/AO and hemispheric temperature varies depending upon solar activity. The results show a positive significant correlation only when solar activity is high. Also, the results support the idea that solar activity influences tropospheric climate fluctuations in the Northern Hemisphere via the fluctuations of the stratospheric polar vortex .

A melt maintained for hours in a press pour unit allowed the following changes over time from spheroidal graphite to compacted graphite iron by casting thermal cups at regular time *** provided extensive experimental information for checking the possibility of simulating solidification of compacted graphite irons by means of a microstructure modelling *** solidification,compacted graphite develops very much as lamellar graphite but with much less *** this basis,a simulation of the thermal analysis records was developed which considers solidification proceeding in a pseudo binary Fe-C *** simulated curves were compared with the experimental ones obtained from three representative alloys that cover the whole microstructure change during the holding of the *** most relevant result is that the parameter describing branching capability of graphite is the most important for reproducing the minimum eutectic temperature and the recalescence which are so characteristic of the solidification of compacted graphite cast irons.

in this article,we provide an impact evaluation of an intervention in Peru regarding preparedness for El Nino impacts in Picsi District of Chiclayo Province in Peru’s northwestern coastal lambayeque *** effort involved the provision of special kits that reduce the potential damage to homes as a consequence of rainfall and floods associated with an El Nino-Southern Oscillation *** was collected in 2016 when this Forecast-based Financing early action was activated by an El Nino forecast,and after a coastal El Nino actually struck in *** dual database permits us to estimate the impact of the intervention on the damage level of homes by comparing those homes supported by the program with those homes not receiving pilot-program *** comparison is achieved by using propensity score matching techniques,which identify the most comparable homes to the ones that were supported by the *** main findings of the study suggest a positive impact of the program in terms of its effectiveness in mitigating the damage caused by the 2017 El Ni?*** results suggest a drop in the scale of house damage(less damage)by around 63%for a home that received the modular kit *** considering other specifications of the model,the decrease in the scale of house damage improves up to approximately 66%.

Gastroenterology case report of mesalazine-induced cardiopulmonary hypersensitivity

Mesalazine is a 5-aminosalicylic acid derivative that has been widely used to treat patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Accumulating evidence indicates that mesalazine has a very low rate of adverse drug reactions and is well tolerated by patients. However, a few cases of pulmonary and cardiac disease related to mesalazine have been reported in the past, though infrequently, preventing clinicians from diagnosing the conditions early. We describe the case of a 32-yearold man with ulcerative colitis who was admitted with a two-month history of persistent fever following mesalazine treatment initiated 14 mo earlier. At the time of admission, mesalazine dose was increased from 1.5 to 3.0 g/d, and antibiotic therapy was started with no improvement. Three weeks after admission, the patient developed dyspnea, non-productive cough, and chest pain. Severe eosinophilia was detected in laboratory tests, and a computed tomography scan revealed interstitial infiltrates in both lungs, as well as a large pericardial effusion. The bronchoalveolar lavage reported a CD4/CD8 ratio of 0.5, and an increased eosinophil count. Transbronchial biopsy examination showed a severe eosinophilic infiltrate of the lung tissue. Mesalazine-induced cardiopulmonary hypersensitivity was suspected after excluding other possible etiologies. Consequently, mesalazine treatment was suspended, and corticosteroid therapy was initiated, resulting in resolution of symptoms and radiologic abnormalities. We conclude that mesalazine-induced pulmonary and cardiac hypersensitivity should always be considered in the differential diagnosis of unexplained cardiopulmonary symptoms and radiographic abnormalities in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
