Selection of appropriate thermomechanical processing parameters is crucial for control of the crystallographic texture and grain size distribution in wrought magnesium alloys, which in turn dictate their mechanical properties. In this work. the recrystallization behavior of binary Mg-Zn alloys are examined after warm rolling as a function of alloy content and heat treatment temperature. The Avrami exponent increased with increasing heat treatment temperature up to the Mg Zn solvus, while the strength of the recrystallization texture *** the Avrami exponent nor the qualitative trends in texture evolution were sensitive to the Zn alloying content in the examined *** and transmission electron microscopy observations revealed that the changes in texture and recrystallization k.netics could be attributed to differences in the nucleation behavior of basal and off-basal orientations.

The deployment of hydrogen as an energy carrier is found to be a vital alternative fuel for the future. It is expected that water electrolysis, powered by renewable energy sources, be able to scale-up hydrogen production. However, the reaction k.netic of oxygen evolution reaction(OER) is a sluggish process, which predominantly limits the efficiency of water electrolysis. This review recapitulates the recent progress and efforts made in the design and development of two selected earth-abundant bimetallic electrocatalysts(Ni Co and Co Fe) for alk.line OER. Each bimetal electrocatalyst is thoroughly outlined and discussed in five sub-sections, including bimetal(oxy) hydroxides, Layered double hydroxides(LDHs) structures,oxides, composites, alloy and nanostructured electrocatalysts, and assembled with ***, a brief introduction to an in situ/operando characterization techniques and advantages for monitoring the structure of the electrocatalysts is provided. Finally, a summary outlining the challenges and conceivable approaches to advance OER performance is highlighted and discussed.

Fragile X syndrome （FXS） is the most common monogenic cause of intellectual disability and a cause for autism. FXS females report milder phenotypes and a lower rate of cognitive problems compared to males. This is most lik.ly because most females are heterozygous, while males are hemizygous for the disease. Thus, most preclinical studies have been completed in males. As there is major interest in testing experimental drugs for FXS, it is imperative to determine whether females in animal models used for research, present behavioral alterations that might translate to humans in order to confirm that experimental drugs have an effect on both genders. In our study we describe behavioral phenotypes in homozygous FXS female mice developed on the FVB.129 back.round. We focused on detection of hippocampal-mediated cognitive abilities and other behaviors described for FXS. Our research shows that, while female FVB.129-Fmrl k.ock.ut mice present normal learning, they have impaired memory, as well as susceptibility to audiogenic seizures. In agreement with previous reports in rodents and humans, significant levels of the small GTPase Racl were found in FXS female mice. Because Racl is involved in neuronal development, plasticity and behavior, we additionally aimed to pharmacologically inhibit Racl and determine whether observed phenotypes are rescued. Treatment of female FVB.129-Fmrl k.ock.ut with a Racl inhibitor abolished behavioral deficits, bringing phenotypes to control levels. Our results suggest that female FVB.129-Fmrl k.ock.ut mice display behavioral impairments that resemble FXS in humans. Moreover, those behavioral shortfalls might be associated with alteration of plasticity involving excessive Racl function, since pharmacological reduction of Racl normalizes previously altered phenotypes to control levels.

The dissolution of minerals plays an important role in the formation of soils and sediments. In nutrient limiting soils, minerals constitute a major reservoir of bio-essential cations. Of particular interest is granite as it is the major rock.type of the continental land mass. Although certain bacteria have been shown to enhance weathering of granite-forming minerals, little is k.own about the dissolution of granite, at the whole rock.scale, and the microbial community involved. In this study, both culture-independent and culture-dependent approaches were used to study the bacterial community at the interface between granite bedrock.and nutrient limiting soil in Dartmoor National Park. United k.ngdom. High throughput sequencing demonstrated that over 70% of the bacterial population consisted of the bacterial classes Bacilli, Beta-proteobacteria and Gamma-proteo-bacteria. Bacteria belonging to the genera Serratia, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Paenibacillus, Chromo-bacterium and Burk.olderia were isolated from the sample site. All of the isolates were able to grow in a minimal growth medium, which contained glucose and ammonium chloride, with granite as the sole source of bio-essential elements. Sixty six percent of the isolates significantly enhanced basalt dissolution (p k. Ca and Mg correlated with production of oxalic acid and acidification. The results of this study suggest that microorganisms in nutrient limiting soils can enhance the rate of granite dissolution, which is an important part of the biogeochemical cycle.

Objective:To provide a comprehensive review on the existing literature on medical management of ***:A thorough literature review was performed using Medline,PubMed/PMC,Embase,and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews up to December 2022 to identify publications on the medical management of *** that assessed dietary and pharmacologic management of urolithiasis were reviewed;studies on medical expulsive therapy were not included in this ***:Medical management of urolithiasis ranges from the prophylactic management of k.dney stone disease to dissolution *** most treatment concepts have been long established,large randomized controlled trials are *** modification and increased fluid intak. remain cornerstones in the conservative management of urolithiasis.A major limitation for medical management of urolithiasis is poor patient ***:Medical management of urolithiasis is more important in patients with recurrent urolithiasis and patients with metabolic abnormalities putting them at higher risk.of developing *** medical management can be effective in limiting stone recurrence,medical interventions often fail due to poor compliance.
