Gold grade variation and stream sediment geochemistry of.the Vaimba-Lidi drainage system, northern Cameroon (West Af.ica)

Stream sediment geochemistry remains a versatile tool in exploration especially in regions where knowledge of.the primary mineralization is lacking and the exploration activities are still at reconnaissance stage. In this study, we investigate the concentrations of.gold and associated elements in stream sediment samples f.om the Vaimba-Lidi drainage system in northern Cameroon;a relatively remote area where alluvial gold is worked locally, and exploration activities are at early stage. The main river and its principal f.rst and second order tributaries were sampled, panned f.r gold grain recovery and the 100 μm size f.action analyzed f.r Au by f.re assay with Ni f.nish. A suite of.other elements were analyzed f.r by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Gold grades estimated by the panning and weighing technique rarely exceed1 g/t while the Au concentrations f.om chemical analysis range f.om 3.0 to 354.0 ppm. The spatial distribution of.gold and all the other elements are presented as point symbol maps and the data analyzed using multivariate statistics. f.om the principal component analysis (PCA), the As-Mo-W-Ag as well as the Au-Zn f.ctors point to the presence of.primary hydrothermal gold-sulphide mineralization in the area and this can be f.rther investigated. These results highlight the importance of.multielement analysis and multivariate statistical interpretation of.sediment geochemical data in inf.rring the nature of.the underlying primary mineralization in any region.

Monogenic f.atures of.urolithiasis: A comprehensive review

Objective: Urolithiasis f.rmation has been attributed to environmental and dietary f.ctors. However, evidence is accumulating that genetic background can contribute to urolithiasis f.rmation. Advancements in the identif.cation of.monogenic causes using high-throughput sequencing technologies have shown that urolithiasis has a strong heritable ***: This review describes monogenic f.ctors implicated in a genetic predisposition to urolithiasis. Peer-reviewed journals were evaluated by a PubMed search until July 2023 to summarize disorders associated with monogenic traits, and discuss clinical implications of.identif.cation of.patients genetically susceptible to urolithiasis ***: Given that more than 80% of.urolithiases cases are associated with calcium accumulation, studies have f.cused mainly on monogenetic contributors to hypercalciuric urolithiases, leading to the identif.cation of.receptors, channels, and transporters involved in the regulation of.calcium renal tubular reabsorption. Nevertheless, available candidate genes and linkage methods have a low resolution f.r evaluation of.the ef.ects of.genetic components versus those of.environmental, dietary, and hormonal f.ctors, and genotypes remain undetermined in the majority of.urolithiasis ***: The pathophysiology underlying urolithiasis f.rmation is complex and multif.ctorial, but evidence strongly suggests the existence of.numerous monogenic causes of.urolithiasis in humans.

Responsiveness of.f.nctional perf.rmance and muscle strength,power,and size to resistance training:A systematic review

There is a recent and growing interest in assessing dif.erential responders to resistance training(RT)f.r diverse ***,the individual ability to respond to an intervention f.r a specif.c measurement,called responsiveness,remains to be better ***,the current study aimed to summarize the available inf.rmation about the ef.ects of.RT on f.nctional perf.rmance and muscle strength,power,and size in healthy adults,through the prevalence rate in dif.erent responsiveness classif.cations models.A systematic review was conducted according to the Pref.rred Reporting Items f.r Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)and was registered at the International Prospective Register of.Systematic Reviews(PROSPERO,CRD42021265378).PubMed/MEDLINE,Scopus,and Embase databases were systematically searched in October 2023.A total of.13 studies were included,totaling 921 *** two studies presented a low risk of.*** the ef.ectiveness of.RT,the prevalence rate f.r non-responders ranged f.om 0%to 44%f.r muscle strength,f.om 0%to 84%f.r muscle size,and f.om 0%to 42%f.r f.nctional perf.rmance,while f.r muscle power,the only study f.und showed a responsiveness rate of.37%.In conclusion,a wide range of.dif.erential responders is described f.r all variables ***,the evidence summarized in this systematic review suggested some caution while interpreting the f.ndings,since the body of.evidence f.und seems to be incipient,and widely heterogeneous in methodological and statistical aspects.

The Burden of.Undiagnosed Hypertension and Associated Risk f.ctors among Adults in a Rural Community in Imo Sate, South-East Nigeria

Background: Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of.death globally and hypertension is a major contributor to this burden. Many people with hypertension have poorly controlled blood pressure and up to half.of.the adults with hypertension are unaware of.their hypertensive status due to f.ctors that bother on poor management and poor screening approaches. The implication is that people who have poor access to healthcare especially those in the rural communities are at increased risk of.cardiovascular complications and all-cause mortality. Unf.rtunately, not much has been done to ascertain the burden of.undiagnosed hypertension and associated risk f.ctors in rural communities in Nigeria. Methods: We conducted a community-based cross-sectional study in a rural community in Imo State, Nigeria, on burden of.undiagnosed hypertension with participants recruited via a multi-stage sampling method. An interviewer-administered questionnaire was used, and standardized instruments were applied to obtain, process and analyze the data. Tests of.association between the independent variables and outcome were conducted using logistic regression. P-value of.Results: A total of.380 adults participated in the study. The mean age was 44.2 years. The prevalence of.undiagnosed hypertension was 35.8%. Logistic regression revealed that age, with the respondents in the age groups 26 - 35 years (OR = 10.647, 1.910 - 59.345, p-value = 0.007), 36 - 45 (OR = 3.680, 1.263 - 10.723, p-value = 0.017), 46 - 55 years (OR = 2.737, 1.114 - 6.727, p-value = 0.039), 56 - 65 years old (OR = 3.384, 1.610 - 7.115, p-value = 0.001);and being married (OR = 3.846, 1.118 - 13.233, p-value = 0.033), were independent risk f.ctors f.r undiagnosed hypertension. Conclusion: The prevalence of.undiagnosed hypertension in the rural population of.South-East Nigeria is high. Younger age (26 - 35 years) had the highest odds of.risk f.r occurrence of.hypertension. f.RGING ASIA′S GLOBAL TRANSPARK IN THE PEARL RIVER DELTA AT ZHUHAI

The main purpose of.the paper is to introduce the concept of.the Global TransPark (GTP). It is a critical time to develop air logistics inf.astructure in the New Economy. The paper also presents a brief.review of.the air cargo industry in the Asian-Pacif.c region and China,in particular China’s development in the industry as its economy has grown rapidly and globalized in the past two decades. The paper argues that China needs to develop a GTP to support its f.ture growth,and explains why the Pearl River Delta-Hong Kong-Macao city-region or Extended Metropolitan Region (EMR) is the best location. f.nally,it proposes that Zhuhai Airport,one of.the f.ve airports in the EMR,is the best site f.r the GTP. New policies f.om Chinese government as well as close cooperation between local governments of.Guangdong and the two Special Administrative Regions of.Hong Kong and Macao will be needed to make the establishment of.the GTP possible.

This research work relates the surf.ce of.a square and the area circumscribed by a circle, resulting in a value called Nikola Tesla constant. This constant starts with the calculation of.the areas of.the square and the inscribed circle, giving a ratio of.9/40 and f.om which a residual area of.the area proportions of.the geometric f.gures described is obtained. Plotting smooth curves, particularly those in round shapes, can be represented ef.iciently with the use of.Nikola Tesla constant, reducing complex mathematical calculus.
