despite being within the intertropical region of the planet,the Mexican territory still has glacier-covered *** recent decades,important advances have been made in studies on glaciology and periglacial environment in Mexico both for current and past ***,in spite of Cofre de Perote volcano(4200 m a.s.l.)being a strategically located mountain,it has not yet been studied in regards to the glacial and periglacial processes;in fact,those dynamics have modified the mountain massifs in the *** complement the series of studies on glacial history in the high mountain environment of México,this study reconstructs the glacial cover and the periglacial environment of the volcano surface during the final stage of the Late Pleistocene based on climatic retrospective and through the identification of geomorphological *** findings indicate the existence of a large glacier(ice cap)that covered the northern,western,and southern slopes of the mountain;while in the eastern sector there were two small glaciers,one being of cirque type,and the other of valley *** current temperature conditions prevent the occurrence of permanent ice bodies;at the same time,it was found that the periglacial blockfields of the slopes is a legacy of the climatic conditions that prevailed at the end of Late Pleistocene.

五种蕨类植物气体交换作用的节律响应

昼夜节律对光合作用和气孔导度(G_(s))的重要调节作用已经在种子植物和藻类植物中进行了系统的研究。然而,最早进化的维管束植物-蕨类植物的相关作用还尚未研究。本研究中以5种蕨类植物为材料进行正常的光周期驯化处理,然后转移至全光照条件下生长,测量正常和全光照下的气体交换和光化学指标,在排除光照影响条件下分析这5种蕨类植物节律响应特点及种间差异,以明确其节律响应特点。结果发现:全光照下,大多数蕨类植物如肾蕨、夏雪银线蕨和鸟巢蕨净光合速率(P_(n))表现出了昼夜节律,节律驱动的P_(n)昼夜变化占15.8%~42.7%,并且肾蕨的光电子传递效率(Φ_(PSII))、阿波银线蕨的非光化学猝灭系数(NPQ)和夏雪银线蕨的光下最大荧光(F’m)也呈现出了昼夜节律;鸟巢蕨和阿波银线蕨的G_(s)表现出了昼夜节律;夏雪银线蕨、阿波银线蕨和鸟巢蕨的P_(n)/胞间二氧化碳浓度(C_(i))上也表现出昼夜节律;还有4种蕨类植物在蒸腾速率(T_(r))表现出昼夜节律。对其中一种具有较强节律响应的绿地珊瑚蕨进行光合色素、非结构性碳(NSC)含量和光合作用、气孔运动相关基因表达分析发现:蕨类植物的光合作用和水分运输相关基因的表达表现出明显的昼夜节律,如捕光色素复合体蛋白基因(SaLHCB2、SaLHCB5)、碳酰酐酶基因(SaSA2)、玉米黄素环氧酶基因(SaZEP)和水通道蛋白基因(SaPIP1s)等;P_(n)的变化与淀粉负反馈调节作用和光合作用相关蛋白转录调节相关,而与气孔与叶肉导度无关。蕨类植物的光合作用的节律调节具有较强的保守性,其水分运输消耗与气孔运动具有相对独立的调节作用。本研究结果对于蕨类植物的多样性保护和利用具有重要意义。

Perovskite LaCoO_(3) is being increasingly explored as an effective low-cost electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Sr doping in LaCoO_(3)(La1-xSrxCoO_(3))has been found to substantially increase its catalytic *** this work,we report a detailed study on the evolution of the electronic structure of La1-xSrxCoO_(3) with 0≤x≤1 and its correlation with electrocatalytic activity for the OER.A combination of X-ray photoemission spectroscopy(XPS)and X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS)was used to unravel the electronic density of states(DOS)near the Fermi level(EF),which provide insights into the key electronic structure features for the enhanced OER catalytic *** analysis on the Co L-edge XAS suggest that LaCoO_(3) has a low spin state with t_(2g)^(6) e_(g)^(0) configuration at room *** implies that the high OER catalytic activity of LaCoO_(3) should not be rationalized by the occupancy of eg=1 *** Sr^(2+) for La^(3+) in LaCoO_(3) induces Co4+oxidation states and effectively dopes hole states into the top of valence band.A semiconductor-to-metal transition is observed for x>0.2,due to the holeinduced electronic DOS at the EF and increased hybridization between Co 3 d and O 2 *** an electronic modulation enhances the surface adsorption of the*OH intermediate and reduces the energy barrier for interfacial charge transfer,thus improving the OER catalytic activity in La_(1-x)Sr_(x)CoO_(3).In addition,we found that the La_(1-x)Sr_(x)CoO_(3) surface undergoes amorphization after certain period of OER measurement,leading to a partial deactivation of the *** Sr doping levels accelerated the amorphization process.

BACKGROUND Whole-tumor apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)histogram analysis is relevant to predicting the neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy(nCRT)response in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer(LARC).AIM To evaluate the performance of ADC histogram-derived parameters for predicting the outcomes of patients with *** This is a single-center,retrospective study,which included 48 patients with *** patients underwent a pre-treatment magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)scan for primary tumor staging and a second restaging MRI for response *** sample was distributed as follows:18 responder patients(R)and 30 non-responders(non-R).Eight parameters derived from the whole-lesion histogram analysis(ADCmean,skewness,kurtosis,and ADC10^(th),25^(th),50^(th),75^(th),90^(th) percentiles),as well as the ADCmean from the hot spot region of interest(ROI),were calculated for each patient before and after *** all data were compared between R and non-R using the Mann-Whitney U *** measures of diagnostic accuracy were applied:the receiver operating characteristic curve and the diagnostic odds ratio(DOR).We also reported intra-and interobserver variability by calculating the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC).RESULTS Post-nCRT kurtosis,as well as post-nCRT skewness,were significantly lower in R than in non-R(both Pdemonstrated changes between groups were post-nCRT ADC10^(th),Δ%ADC10^(th),Δ%ADCmean,and ROIΔ%***,the best diagnostic performance was achieved byΔ%kurtosis at a threshold of 11.85%(Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve[AUC]=0.991,DOR=376),followed by post-nCRT kurtosis=0.78×10^(-3)mm^(2)/s(AUC=0.985,DOR=375.3),Δskewness=0.16(AUC=0.885,DOR=192.2)and post-nCRT skewness=1.59×10^(-3)mm^(2)/s(AUC=0.815,DOR=168.6).Finally,intraclass corr

Scanning electrochemical microscopy(SECM)and scanning vibrating electrode technique(SVET)were used to investigate the electrochemical behaviour of the top surface of the 2098-T351 alloy welded by friction stir welding(FSW).The SVET technique was efficient in identifying the cathodic and anodic weld *** welding joint(WJ),which comprises the thermomechanically affected zone(TMAZ)and the stir zone(SZ),was cathodic relative to the heated affected zone(HAZ)and the base metal(BM).The reactivities of the welding joint at the advancing side(AS)and the retreating side(RS)were analyzed and compared using SECM technique in the competition mode by monitoring the dissolved oxygen as a redox mediator in 0.005 mol L^-1 NaCl *** RS was more electrochemically active than the AS,and these results were correlated with the microstructural features of the welded alloy.

Sexual disorders following retroperitoneal pelvic lymph node dissection(RPLND)for testis tumor can affect the quality of life of *** aim of the current study was to investigate several different andrological outcomes,which may be influenced by robot-assisted(RA)*** January 2012 to March 2020,32 patients underwent RA-RPLND for stage I nonseminomatous testis cancer or postchemotherapy(PC)residual *** unilateral RPLND nerve-sparing template was always *** variables of interest were erectile dysfunction(ED),premature ejaculation(PE),dry ejaculation(de),or orgasm ***,fertility as well as the fecundation process(sexual intercourse or medically assisted procreation[MAP])was *** patients(31.3%)presented an andrological disorder of any type after *** was present in 4(12.5%)patients,de(International Index of Erectile Function-5[IIEF-5]dex(BMI),number of nodes removed,scholar status,and preoperative risk factor rates were identified between *** all these 10 patients,6(60.0%)were treated at the beginning of our robotic experience(2012-2016).Of all 32 patients,5(15.6%)attempted to have a child after *** of these 5 patients have successfully fathered children,but 2(40.0%)required a *** conclusion,a nonnegligible number of andrological complications occurred after RA-RPLND,mainly represented by ejaculation disorders,but ED occurrence and overall sexual satisfaction deficit should be definitely *** negative impact on fertility was described after RA-RPLND.

Few studies have analyzed climate change perceptions in the disaster risk management *** research aimed to understand how civil defense experts are dealing with the climate change topic:what they learn and think *** online survey was conducted between October and december 2021 with 1,063 participants from civil defense agencies in *** findings indicate:(1) most(80.6%) civil defense officers completely agreed that climate change will cause additional challenges to disaster risk management,while 10.1% stated that they are prepared to deal with it;(2) one quarter of the respondents(26.3%) completely agreed that they easily understand the information about climate change,but trust in the sources of information is a challenge-52.4% completely agreed and 40.5% partially agreed with information provided by scientists,but the levels of trust were reduced when referring to governments and press;and(3) about 30% of the respondents thought that civil defense work is associated with the Sustainable development Goals(SDGs),despite SDGs 11 and 13 being related to disasters and climate *** identification of civil defense’ perceptions on climate change is an important step in seeking pathways for increasing capacity building to achieve disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 recommends several actions for early warning systems(EWSs). However, there is a lack of information about their means of implementation. This article used institutional ethnography to analyze the 2012–2018 implementation of a national warning system in Brazil. The challenges related to daily activities, and the interdisciplinary works in the four axes of EWSs towards multi-hazard and people-centered approaches are discussed. This national experience is then discussed in the light of the global challenges of EWSs considering two main issues:(1) experiences of implementation and barriers related to people-centered warning systems;and(2)types of national/regional warning systems and hazards/threats that are being monitored as an important input for multi-hazard approaches. There are few multi-hazard warning systems in place and EWSs are focused on hydrometeorological hazards, mainly related to floods. The Sendai Framework needs to improve access to data and information, identify views from the frontline, consider political threats and vulnerabilities, and find ways to talk about disaster risk creation processes at a larger scale.
