The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a serious threat to global mental health.Multiple lines of evidence suggest that there is a varying yet considerable increase in mental health issues among the general population and vulnerable groups.12 The aftermath is obscure and speculative from a social,economic,individual and public mental health perspective.Recently published studies support the existence of an emotional epidemic curve,describing a high probability of an increase in the burden of mental health issues in the post-pandemic era.34 Furthermore,previous major public health emergencies showed that more than half of the population devel-oped mental health problems and required mental health intervention.45 There is,therefore,an urgent need to reorganise existing mental health services to address the current unmet needs for mental health and to prepare for future challenges in the postpandemic era in terms of prevention and management.

鉴于当前气候变化和人类活动的影响,生物多样性的空间预测对其保护和修复至关重要。本文将不同堆叠物种分布模型(stacked species distribution models,S-SDMs)的预测结果与森林清查数据进行了比较,以评估这些S-SDMs模型能否捕获生物多样性热点地区物种丰富度的新特性和地理分布及局部群落的组成。我们选取大西洋沿岸森林151处地点的1499个树种进行SDM模型构建,并利用4种模型堆叠方法重建植物群落。这43种方法分别为二进制SDM模型(bS-SDM)、由最小凸多边形裁剪得到的二进制SDM模型(bS-SDM-CROP)、受物种丰富度观测结果约束的堆叠SDM模型(cS-SDM)以及物种出现点的最小凸多边形(MCP)。我们从物种丰富度、组成、群落预测指标以及β多样性组分(物种嵌套和物种周转)等方面将各堆叠方法与局部群落进行对比。研究结果表明,所有S-SDM模型均捕获到了一般分布格局,其中bS-SDM-CROP模型最为简约。各堆叠模型预测得到的物种组成与局部群落的实际情况存在一定的差异,其中bS-SDM、bS-SDM-CROP和MCP模型呈现出嵌套格局,而物种周转在cS-SDM模型中最为显著。这些S-SDM模型在性能、遗漏率和记账错率方面的表现各不相同,对一些脆弱、濒危和极度濒危物种给出了错误预测。尽管与森林清查数据有差别,但这些S-SDM模型均捕获了与局部群落数据的部分差异,可以表征物种的潜在分布区。本研究的结论有助于S-SDM模型在粗尺度生物多样性整合与保护规划中的应用,但在生物高度多样性地区局部尺度上可能会得出错误的预测结果。

The collaborative effort of an international research team from the Early Career Psychiatrists section of the World Psychiatry Association has brought about an easy-to-use,quick and stepwise mental health care toolkit for the identification and appropriate referral of those in need of mental health care during the pandemic.This simple guide can be applied in the general outpatient setting and is catered for all healthcare professionals,regardless of their expertise within the mental health field with minimal training.It is our hope that by incorporating this toolkit into our daily clinical care during the pandemic for high-risk patients and patients with non-specific complaints,we will be able to bridge the mental health gap present in our society.

Ecological Regeneration of Obsolete Tourist Resorts

Tourist cities have particular and different use compared with ordinary city. The main users spend most of their time to leisure, and to the enjoyment of the urban environment, so people must be attentive to the changing needs of visitors and be willing to transform their environment based on them. These changes must be environmentally sustainable and based on concepts of economic, environmental and social sustainability, people need to be prepared for the continuous recycling of the existence, and are always seeking to increase the energy efficiency. The rehabilitation in edificatory and urban terms must go hand in hand in this task if people want to achieve the objectives of environmental sustainability, combining the lives of residents with visitors, especially in poor energetic resource areas where the external dependency is very high, that is the case of the Canary Islands, where the scarcity of energy and water make necessary in a very small and densely populated area, the efficient use of resources and thus the reuse and transformation of what exists. The rehabilitation process of the poor quality buildings built in the 1970s has started, so people must not miss this new opportunity to improve environment to make it more sustainable.

Confirmatory factor analysis of VISA-P scale and measurement invariance across sexes in athletes with patellar tendinopathy

Background:The victorian Institute of Sport Assessment–Patella(VISA-P) scale is the most condition-specific patient-reported outcome measure used to assess symptom severity in athletes with patellar tendinopathy.Previous exploratory factor analyses have been conducted to evaluate the scale's dimensionality,with inconsistent results,and the factor structure of the scale remains unclear.The aims of the present study were to determine the factorial structure of the VISA-P scale using confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) and test measurement invariance across sexes.Methods:The study included a convenience sample of 249 Spanish athletes with patellar tendinopathy.CFA was performed to assess factorial validity.Hypothesized 1-and 2-factor models were tested.Measurement invariance across sexes was evaluated via multi-group CFA with several fit indices using EQS 6.1 software.Results:The internal consistency coefficient was 0.74.Several CFA models were examined and the 1-factor model in which errors for Items 7 and8 were correlated showed acceptable fit in terms of comparative fit index(CFI) and goodness-of-fit index(GFI) statistics(CFI = 0.93;GFI = 0.94;standardized root mean square residual = 0.06;root mean square error of approximation = 0.10;90% confidence interval:0.08–0.13).This model was invariant across sexes.Conclusion:The 1-factor model of the Spanish version of the VISA-P scale(VISA-P-Sp) in which errors for Items 7 and 8 were correlated demonstrated relative fit in CFA.Scores obtained via VISA-P-Sp can be compared between men and women without sexes bias.Further studies should examine the VISA-P scale and other single-score patient-reported outcome measures concurrently.

ENSO impacts on litter stocks and water holding capacity in secondary forests in eastern Amazonia

Among the impacts of climate change,there is the intensification of phenomena such as the El Niño South-ern Oscillation(ENSO)responsible for El Niño and La Niña.However,understanding their effects on the functional pro-cesses of forests is limited.Therefore,this study evaluated the effects of ENSO on litter stock and water holding capac-ity(WHC)in a successional forest in eastern Amazonia.Evaluations occurred in periods with the most rainfall in El Niño(2019)and least in La Niña(2021)years.Twelve permanent plots were used to sample litter.ENSO effects were evident for WHC,higher during El Niño.However,this influence was not clear for litter,as only in the rainy season effects were found.There was a positive correlation of WHC with precipitation and humidity,while litter stocks were negatively correlated with temperature and wind speed.Although the subject of this study requires long-term assessments,preliminary results suggests that,depending on the intensity of ENSO,forest functional processes can be strongly impacted and altered.The conclusion reinforces warnings by the scientific community about the impacts of climate change on the maintenance of litter stocks,decomposition and,consequently,the biogeochemical cycle and essential ecosystem services for the maintenance of Amazonia biodiversity.The need to develop long-term research to understand the effects of climatic change on litter stocks and water holding capacity is highlighted,especially in Amazonia.

Participatory Early Warning Systems: Youth, Citizen Science,and Intergenerational Dialogues on Disaster Risk Reduction in Brazil

Building national people-centered early warning systems(EWS) is strongly recommended by the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction(UNISDR). Most of the scientific literature is critical of the conventional view of EWS as a linear model with a topdown approach, in which technological features are given more attention than human factors. It is argued that EWS should be people-centered, and used for risk prevention,with an emphasis on resilience, rather than only being triggered when a hazard occurs. However, both the UNISDR and the literature fail to say how a people-centered EWS should be built, and what steps are needed to put EWS into effect. This article examines the obstacles and measures required to promote people-centered EWS,with a focus on the situation in Brazil. After assessing the institutional vulnerability of EWS, we analyze some measures that can be taken to reduce institutional vulnerability,based on experiences with a participatory citizen science educational project that involved high school students.Some guidelines are developed for adopting a bottom-up approach towards achieving the four elements of EWS—risk knowledge, monitoring, communication of warnings,and response capability—with the help of school curricula.

Colorectal cancer screening and surveillance in patients with inflammatory bowel disease in 2021

The detection of dysplasia in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)continues to be important given the increased risk of colorectal cancer in this population.Therefore,in 2017,we performed a review and update of the recommendations for the management and follow-up of patients with IBD based on the clinical practice guidelines of various scientific societies.The present manuscript focuses on new aspects of the detection,follow-up,and management of dysplasia according to the latest studies and recommendations.While chromoendoscopy with targeted biopsy continues to be the technique of choice for the screening and detection of dysplasia in IBD,the associated difficulties mean that it is now being compared with other techniques(virtual chromoendoscopy),which yield similar results with less technical difficulties.Furthermore,the emergence of new endoscopy techniques that are still being researched but seem promising(e.g.,confocal laser endomicroscopy and full-spectrum endoscopy),together with the development of devices that improve endoscopic visualization(e.g.,Endocuff Vision),lead us to believe that these approaches can revolutionize the screening and follow-up of dysplasia in patients with IBD.Nevertheless,further studies are warranted to define the optimal follow-up strategy in this patient population.

Scanning electrochemical microscopy(SECM)and scanning vibrating electrode technique(SVET)were used to investigate the electrochemical behaviour of the top surface of the 2098-T351 alloy welded by friction stir welding(FSW).The SVET technique was efficient in identifying the cathodic and anodic weld regions.The welding joint(WJ),which comprises the thermomechanically affected zone(TMAZ)and the stir zone(SZ),was cathodic relative to the heated affected zone(HAZ)and the base metal(BM).The reactivities of the welding joint at the advancing side(AS)and the retreating side(RS)were analyzed and compared using SECM technique in the competition mode by monitoring the dissolved oxygen as a redox mediator in 0.005 mol L^-1 NaCl solution.The RS was more electrochemically active than the AS,and these results were correlated with the microstructural features of the welded alloy.

A 3D forest monitoring system,called FORSAT(a satellite very high resolution image processing platform for forest assessment),was developed for the extraction of 3D geometric forest information from very high resolution(VHR)satellite imagery and the automatic 3D change detection.FORSAT is composed of two complementary tasks:(1)the geometric and radiometric processing of satellite optical imagery and digital surface model(DSM)reconstruction by using a precise and robust image matching approach specially designed for VHR satellite imagery,(2)3D surface comparison for change detection.It allows the users to import DSMs,align them using an advanced 3D surface matching approach and calculate the 3D differences and volume changes(together with precision values)between epochs.FORSAT is a single source and flexible forest information solution,allowing expert and non-expert remote sensing users to monitor forests in three and four(time)dimensions.The geometric resolution and thematic content of VHR optical imagery are sufficient for many forest information needs such as deforestation,clear-cut and fire severity mapping.The capacity and benefits of FORSAT,as a forest information system contributing to the sustainable forest management,have been tested and validated in case studies located in Austria,Switzerland and Spain.
