Cholangiocellular cancer(CCC)is an oncological disease of the bile ducts characterized by a high mortality *** date,the use of standard methods for the diagnosis and treatment of CCC has not been able to reduce mortality from this *** work presents the results of fluorescence diagnostics(FD),which consists in using a modified optical fiber and photodynamic therapy(PDT)using a therapeutic laser instead of a low-intensity *** technique was tested on 43 patients in a clinical *** results obtained indicate a direct correlation between spectroscopic and video FD ***,a direct correlation was found between the photobleaching of a chlorin e6-based photosensitizer,with the commercial names of PhotoIon Radachlorin and Photoran and stricture *** findings demonstrate the possibility of using a therapeutic laser with a wavelength of 660 nm for both diagnosis and treatment of bile ducts cancer,which results in a significant reduction of the operation time without decreasing its effectiveness.

The brain has an exceptionally high requirement for energy metabolism,with glucose serving as the exclusive energy ***,including glioblastoma,have a high glucose uptake and rely on aerobic glycolysis for energy *** alternation of high-efficiency oxidative phosphorylation to a low-efficiency aerobic glycolysis pathway(Warburg effect)provides macromolecules for biosynthesis and *** research indicates that the specific metabolism in the tumor tissue and nonnal brain tissue in the glioma allows the use of 5-aminolevulinic acid(5 ALA)-induced protoporphyrin IX(PpIX)and methylene blue(Mb)to monitor and correct the development of the *** focus is on the detection of the differences between tumor cells and tumorassociated macrophages/microglia using spectroscopic and microscopic methods,based on the fluorescent signals and the difference in the drug accumulation of photosensitizers(PSs).Since 5 ALA has long been used effectively in the clinic for fluorescent surgical navigation,it was employed as an agent to identify the localization of tumor tissue and study its composition,particularly tumor and immune cells(macrophages),which have also been shown to actively accumulate ***,since PpIX is photodynamically active,it can be considered effective as the main target of tumor tissue for further successful photodynamic *** was employed to visualize resident microglia,which is important for their activation/deactivation to prevent the reprogramming of the immune cells by the ***,using two drugs,it is possible to prevent crosstalk between tumor cells and the immune cells of different geneses.

AIM:To analyze if a relationship between levels ofinflammatory serum biomarkers and severity of primaryproliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR)***:A retrospective case-control *** adult patients with rhegmatogenous retinaldetachment and primary PVR were included in the *** the control group,healthy adults who underwentcataract surgery were *** grade of PVR wasclassified according to the Retinal Society *** samples were obtained before surgery,and processed in MYTHIC *** of interest wereneutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR),platelet-to-lymphocyteratio(PLR),and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio(LMR),thetime between the decrease in visual acuity and surgery,PVRgrade,type of surgery,final best corrected visual acuity,andrate of ***:Totally 240 patients were included,120 ineach group,79(65.8%)and 56(46.7%)were male in thePVR and control group,*** A had greaterlevels of monocytes(0.28±0.18 vs 0.12±0.32,P=0.002),neutrophils(4.59±1.51 vs 3.92±1.27,P=0.006),and LMR(9.32±4.42 vs 7.43±3.90,P=0.01).PVR b had a greatermonocyte count(0.30±0.13 vs 0.12±0.32,P=0.001),andPVR C demonstrated higher levels in monocytes(0.27±0.12vs 0.12±0.32,P=0.004),neutrophils(4.39±1.13 vs3.92±1.27,P=0.004),and LMR(9.63±3.24 vs 7.43±3.90,P=0.002)compared to control,*** LMR cut-offvalue of 9.38 predicted PVR with a sensibility of 54.2%andspecificity of 77.5%and NLR cut-off of 1.70 predicted PVRwith a sensibility of 62%and specificity of 54.2%.CONCLUSION:Patients with primary PVR demonstrategreater neutrophil,monocyte,and LMR levels than thecontrol ***-off values obtained from ratios could beuseful in a clinical setting when no posterior view of thefundus is possible due to media opacity.

Manual investigation of chest radiography(CXR)images by physicians is crucial for effective decision-making in COVID-19 ***,the high demand during the pandemic necessitates auxiliary help through image analysis and machine learning *** study presents a multi-threshold-based segmentation technique to probe high pixel intensity regions in CXR images of various pathologies,including normal *** information is extracted using gray co-occurrence matrix(GLCM)-based features,while vessel-like features are obtained using Frangi,Sato,and Meijering *** learning models employing Decision Tree(DT)and RandomForest(RF)approaches are designed to categorize CXR images into common lung infections,lung opacity(LO),COVID-19,and viral pneumonia(VP).The results demonstrate that the fusion of texture and vesselbased features provides an effective ML model for aiding *** ML model validation using performance measures,including an accuracy of approximately 91.8%with an RF-based classifier,supports the usefulness of the feature set and classifier model in categorizing the four different ***,the study investigates the importance of the devised features in identifying the underlying pathology and incorporates histogrambased *** analysis reveals varying natural pixel distributions in CXR images belonging to the normal,COVID-19,LO,and VP groups,motivating the incorporation of additional features such as mean,standard deviation,skewness,and percentile based on the filtered ***,the study achieves a considerable improvement in categorizing COVID-19 from LO,with a true positive rate of 97%,further substantiating the effectiveness of the methodology implemented.

Study of boundary layer characteristics during the landfalling of a Nisarga cyclone

One of the most important parameters in meteorology is the mean wind pro fi le in the tropical cyclone boundary layer. The vertical pro fi le of wind speed and wind direction were measured during the period of the Nisarga cyclone from May 31st, 2020, to June 5th, 2020, using the newly installed Phased Array Doppler Sodar system at the Center for Space and Atmospheric Science (CSAS), Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur (16.74 degrees N, 74.37 degrees E; near India ' s western coast). Our analysis revealed that the maximum mean wind speed was 17 m/s on June 3, 2020, at 10:00 IST. It also shows the change in wind direction from southwest to southeast on June 2 and 3, 2020. Daily high-resolution reanalysis data in the domain, 0 - 25 degrees N, 65 - 110 degrees E, during the period from May 31st to June 5th, 2020, revealed the variation of the atmospheric pressure of the Nisarga cyclone from 1000 to 1008 hPa, sea surface temperature (SST) between 30 degrees C and 31 degrees C, outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) between 100 and 240 Wm-2 , wind speed between 3 and 15 m/s, and low values of vertical wind shear (VWS) were observed to the north of Nisarga track. Utilization of low quality water of mountain reservoirs: a case study from Al Jabal Al Akhdar, Oman

Al Jabal al Akhdar(Green Mountain) in arid northern Oman has freshwater resources that had supported small communities for hundreds of years. Jabal Akhdar receives more rainfall(300-400 mm) when compared to the desert plains. In the last few years, this region had undergone enormous changes due to rapid development. The resident and transient populations have increased and their activities exert severe stress on the water resources. There are 24 retention reservoirs in the area, but most are eutrophic and the nutrient loading is due to input of animal fecal matter via surface run-off. As expected, these waters contaminated with coliform bacteria and some have pathogenic Escherichia coli. Drinking water needs of all the villages met by groundwater extraction. because of poor quality, the surface water in the reservoirs is under-utilized. A low-cost lowmaintenance treatment system designed, constructed and operated in one village to clean the reservoir water for non-drinking human use. The treatment unit improved the water quality parameters. A survey among the adult male population of the village showed their eagerness to adopt this system and use the treated reservoir water for uses other than agriculture. Establishment of these treatment units in other villages should reduce the pressures on groundwater extraction.

Disbond detection with piezoelectric wafer active sensors in RC structures strengthened with FRP composite overlays

The capability of embedded piezoelectric wafer active sensors(PWAS)to perform in-situ nondestructive evaluation(NDE)for structural health monitoring(SHM)of reinforced concrete(RC)structures strengthened with fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)composite overlays is ***,the disbond detection method were developed on coupon specimens consisting of concrete blocks covered with an FRP composite *** was found that the presence of a disbond crack drastically changes the electromecfianical(E/M)impedance spectrum lneasurcd at the PWAS *** spectral changes depend on the distance between the PWAS and the crack ***,large scale experiments were conducted on a RC beam strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)composite *** beam was subject to an accelerated fatigue load regime in a three-point bending configuration up to a total of 807,415 *** these fatigue tests,the CFRP overlay experienced disbonding beginning at about 500,000 *** PWAS were able to detect the disbonding before it could be reliably seen by visual *** correlation between the PWAS readings and the position and extent of disbond damage was *** preliminary results demonstrate the potential of PWAS technology for SHM of RC structures strengthened with FRP composite overlays.
