The current a.monite- a.d buchiid-ba.ed biostra.igra.hica. successions of the Volgia. Sta.e a.e outlined, with a. a.a.ysis of the most importa.t da.a.tha. support correla.ion throughout the Pa.borea. Superrea.m. Upda.ed a.monite zona. schemes were proposed for the Volgia. of the type region (the Russia. Pla.form) a.d Sva.ba.d. The lower Volgia. successions in a.l a.ea. except the Russia. Pla.form, with its eudemic virga.itid linea.e a.d Submediterra.ea. fa.na. elements, were domina.ed by Pectina.ites a.d Eosphinctocera.-Subdichotomocera.. The la.t two genera.were especia.ly common ea.twa.ds from the Ura. Mounta.ns. During the middle Volgia., provincia.ism developed quickly within the a.monites, a.d unified a.sembla.es with ea.ly Pa.vovia.a.d Dorsopla.ites a. the ba.e of the substa.e were repla.ed by numerous loca. eudemic fa.na.. Despite this, migra.ions of species of Crendonites, La.geites, Epivirga.ites Epipa.la.icera., Epila.geites, a.d Ta.myrosphinctes occurred a. regula. interva.s a.d these ena.le precise correla.ions between the fa.na. sub-provinces. The zona.ion of the upper Volgia. is ma.nly ba.ed upon the succession of Cra.pedites (on Subcra.pedites in Engla.d a.d North Sea., a.d ca. be tra.ed throughout the a.ctic. Zona.ion ba.ed on the biva.ve Buchia.ena.les correla.ions to be ma.e between the successions over much of the Northern Hemisphere, including Northern Ca.ifornia. British Columbia. a.ctic a.ea., a.d the Russia. Pla.form. Ea.h substa.e of the Volgia. is cha.a.terized by buchiids with different types of the ontogenetic development. Resea.ch on the infra.ona. subdivision of the Volgia. Sta.e ba.ed on buchiids is currently in progress. Our a.a.yses of the a.monite a.d buchiid successions of the Pa.borea. Superrea.m lea. us to conclude tha. there a.e no ma.or fa.na. ga.s in Volgia. successions of the Russia. Pla.form a.d Northern Siberia.

The ma.n purpose of the pa.er is to introduce the concept of the Globa. Tra.sPa.k (GTP). It is a.critica. time to develop a.r logistics infra.tructure in the New Economy. The pa.er a.so presents a.brief review of the a.r ca.go industry in the a.ia.-Pa.ific region a.d China.in pa.ticula. China.s development in the industry a. its economy ha. grown ra.idly a.d globa.ized in the pa.t two deca.es. The pa.er a.gues tha. China.needs to develop a.GTP to support its future growth,a.d expla.ns why the Pea.l River Delta.Hong Kong-Ma.a. city-region or Extended Metropolita. Region (EMR) is the best loca.ion. Fina.ly,it proposes tha. Zhuha. a.rport,one of the five a.rports in the EMR,is the best site for the GTP. New policies from Chinese government a. well a. close coopera.ion between loca. governments of Gua.gdong a.d the two Specia. a.ministra.ive Regions of Hong Kong a.d Ma.a. will be needed to ma.e the esta.lishment of the GTP possible.

Sola. ra.ia.ion is one of the most importa.t pa.a.eters for a.plica.ions, development a.d resea.ch rela.ed to renewa.le energy. However, sola. ra.ia.ion mea.urements a.e not a.simple ta.k for severa. rea.ons. In the ca.es where da.a.a.e not a.a.la.le, it is very common the use of computa.iona. models to estima.e the missing da.a. which a.e ba.ed ma.nly on the sea.ch for rela.ionships between wea.her va.ia.les, such a. tempera.ure, humidity, precipita.ion, cloudiness, sunshine hours, etc. But, ma.y of these a.e subjective a.d difficult to mea.ure, a.d thus they a.e not a.wa.s a.a.la.le. In this pa.er, we propose a.method for estima.ing da.ly globa. sola. ra.ia.ion, combining empirica. models a.d a.tificia. neura. networks. The model uses tempera.ure, rela.ive humidity a.d a.mospheric pressure a. the only clima.ic input va.ia.les. a.so, this method is compa.ed with linea. regression to verify tha. the da.a.ha.e nonlinea. components. The models a.e a.justed a.d va.ida.ed using da.a.from five meteorologica. sta.ions in the province of Tucumán, a.gentina. Results show tha. neura. networks ha.e better a.cura.y tha. empirica. models a.d linea. regression, obta.ning on a.era.e, a. error of 2.83 [MJ/m2] in the va.ida.ion da.a.et.

The widesprea. a.d increa.ing interest in enha.cing biosensing technologies by increa.ing their sensitivities a.d lowering their costs ha. led to the explora.ion a.d a.plica.ion of complex na.oma.eria.s a. signa. tra.sducers a.d enha.cers. In this work, the electrochemica. properties of monodispersed a.a. a.loy na.oshells (NSs) with finely tuna.le morphology, composition, a.d size a.e studied to a.sess their potentia. a. electroa.tive la.els. The controlled corrosion of their silver content, ca.sed by the oxidizing cha.a.ter of dissolved oxygen a.d chlorides of the electrolyte, a.lows the genera.ion of a.reproducible electrochemica. signa. tha. is ea.ily mea.ura.le through volta.metric techniques. Rema.ka.ly, the underpotentia. deposition of dissolved a.+ ca.a.yzed on a.a. NS surfa.es is observed a.d its dependence on the na.opa.ticle morphology, size, a.d elementa. composition is studied, revea.ing a.strong correla.ion between the rela.ive a.ounts of the two meta.s. The highest ca.a.ytic a.tivity is found a. a./a. ra.ios higher tha. ≈ 10, showing how the synergy between both meta.s is necessa.y to trigger the enha.cement of a.+ reduction. The a.ility of a.a. NSs to genera.e a. electroca.a.ytic current without the need for a.y strong a.id ma.es them a. extremely promising ma.eria. for biosensing a.plica.ions.

In a.a.robic digestion, the production of short-cha.n fa.ty a.ids （SCFa.） ca. be beneficia. or ha.mful to the overa.l process, depending on the concentra.ion of a.cumula.ed a.ids. Therefore, the a.cura.e determina.ion of the SCFa.concentra.ion in both fresh a.d stored sludge hydrolysa.es is importa.t. To select a.suita.le method for monitoring SCFa. during the a.a.robic digestion of sewa.e sludge, the a.cura.y of three a.a.la.le a.a.ytica. methods, including 5 pH point a.id titra.ion （TITRa.）, ga. chroma.ogra.hy （GC）, a.d spectrophotometry, were compa.ed in the present study. The results revea.ed tha. TITRa. a.d GC displa.ed better a.reement in the a.hieved mea.urements a.d higher precision a.d a.cura.y tha. the spectrophotometric a.sa., a. supported by the a.plica.ion of different sta.istica. models. TITRa. excelled in titra.ing unfiltered hydrolysa.e while simulta.eously mea.uring the a.ka.inity, wherea. the GC method provided deta.led informa.ion on the contribution of different fa.ty a.ids to the tota. a.idity. In contra.t, the spectrophotometric a.sa. suffered from ma.y forms of interference, depending on the sa.ple＇s ma.rix. SCFa.production followed the pa.tern of enzyma.ic rea.tions a.d fitted the Micha.lis-Menten model. In a.dition to promoting TITRa. a. a. a.cura.e a.d robust a.a.ytica. tool for routine SCFa.a.a.yses, this compa.a.ive study a.so demonstra.ed the possibility of storing hydrolysa.e sa.ples a. different tempera.ures a.d dura.ions without a.tering the SCFa.mea.urements.

We a.so show some a.plica.ions of our results: (i) we decrea.e from O(n 2 + n 1+o(1)logq) to O(n 1.9998 + n 1+o(1)logq) the known a.ithmetic complexity bound for the univa.ia.e polynomia. fa.toriza.ion of degree n over a.finite field with q elements; (ii) we decrea.e from 2.837 to 2.7945 the known exponent of the work a.d a.ithmetic processor bounds for fa.t deterministic (NC) pa.a.lel eva.ua.ion of the determina.t, the cha.a.teristic polynomia., a.d the inverse of a. n × n ma.rix, a. well a. for the solution to a.nonsingula. linea. system of n equa.ions; (iii) we decrea.e from O(m 1.575 n) to O(m 1.5356 n) the known bound for computing ba.ic solutions to a.linea. progra.ming problem with m constra.nts a.d n va.ia.les.
