Yerba mate(Ilex paraguariensis ***.-Hil.)is a species of great economic,social and environmental importance for the southern regions of Brazil,Uruguay and *** the most diverse products are obtained from mate leaves,including mate *** objective of this study was to establish shoot meristem cultures(meristematic dome and a few primordia)of elite clones and identify the endophytic bacteria present in the *** tested the effect of clones(f1,f2,A03 and A07),culture media(MS,1/2MS,1/4MS and WPM),cytokinins(kinetin,BA and 2iP),activated charcoal(1,2 and 3 g L^-1),and disinfecting agent(sodium hypochlorite and mercuric chloride)on in vitro establishment.f1 and f2 clones were the most responsive for shoot meristem in vitro *** medium supplemented with 8.8 lM 2iP,0.2 lM NAA and 3 g L^-1 activated charcoal was the most suitable for the in vitro establishment of the f1 *** phytotoxic effect of the disinfectant was observed and some meristems *** isolated endophytic bacterium was identified for the first time in yerba mate as Agrobacterium *** conclude,we were able to establish in vitro culture of yerba mate using meristems as explants but the tissues were not free of endophytic microorganisms which could interfere with explant response.

DE-ETIOLATED 1(DET1)and CONSTITUTIVE PHOTOMORPHOGENESIS 1(COP1)are two essential repressors of Arabidopsis *** proteins can associate with CULLIN4 to form independent CRL4-based E3 ubiquitin ligases that mediate the degradation of several photomorphogenic transcription factors,including ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL 5(HY5),thereby controlling multiple gene-regulatory *** extensive biochemical and genetic analyses of their multi-subunit complexes,the functional links between DET1 and COP1 have long remained ***,we report that DET1 associates with COP1 in vivo,enhances COP1-HY5 interaction,and promotes COP1 destabilization in a process that dampens HY5 protein *** regulating its accumulation,DET1 avoids HY5 association with hundreds of second-site genomic loci,which are also frequently targeted by the skotomorphogenic transcription factor PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING fACTOR ***,ectopic HY5 chromatin enrichment favors local gene repression and can trigger fusca-like *** study therefore shows that DET1-mediated regulation of COP1 stability tunes down the HY5 cistrome,avoiding hyper-photomorphogenic responses that might compromise plant viability.

OBJECTIVES Elderly patients show a higher incidence of ischemic and bleeding events after percutaneous transluminal coron-ary intervention(PCI).We sought to investigate outcomes in elderly patients treated with antithrombotic strategy guided by bleeding and ischemic risks after revascularization with last generation everolimus-eluting stent(EES).METHODS Prospective multicenter registry including patients over 75 years revascularized with EES and antithrombotic ther-apy guided by clinical presentation,PCI complexity and PRECISE DAPT ***-primary safety endpoints were:(1)composite of cardiac death,myocardial infarction and stent thrombosis and;(2)bleeding(BARC 2-5).Primary efficacy endpoint was target lesion revascularization.A matched group of patients revascularized with current drug-eluting stents and no such tailored antith-rombotic therapy was used as *** finally,1064 patients were included in SIERRA-75 cohort,80.8±4.2 years,36.6%women,71%acute coronary syn-dromes(ACS)and 53.6%complex ***-primary safety endpoint of major adverse cardiovascular events was met in 6.2%,co-primary safety endpoint of bleeding in 7.8%and primary efficacy endpoint of TKLR in 1.5%.The multivariable adjusted model showed no significant association of the prescribed short/long dual antiplatelet therapy(DAPT)durations with any endpoint suggesting a well tailored *** stent thrombosis reported in the subgroup with 1-3 months DAPT *** compared to control group,bleeding BARC 2-5 was significantly lower in SIERRA-75 group(7.4%vs.10.2%,P=0.04)as well as the net safety-efficacy endpoint(14.3%vs.18.5%,P=0.02).CONCLUSIONS In elderly population,the application of this risks-adjusted antithrombotic protocol after revascularization with last generation EES seems to be associated with an improved prognosis in terms of ischemic and bleeding outcomes.

Determination of functional fitness age in women aged 50 and older

The fourth World Congress of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization

＜正＞The work presented in this article is structured in three parts, focusing its attention on the reduction of the execution time required by the GA to accomplish the evolutive process when the error function is very complex. In order to do it, several strategies will be presented and studied. In the first one, a theoretical approach to determine optimal population size and the construction of an approximated and stepped evaluation function is presented. In the second one OMEGA （Oriented to Mechanical Engineering Genetic Algorithm） is presented, a modified GA which includes the use of models with different degrees of complexity and a dynamic mutation operator whose purpose is to substantially reduce the number of evaluations of the complete error function. This program has been developed based on David Levine’ s PGAPack library /26/. In the third part of the work, results obtained by OMEGA in a practical optimisation problem （an error function used in the synthesis of multibody systems /1/, /2/, /3/, /4/, /5/） will be presented.

Background: The construction of useful and attainable indicators of fitness assessment deserves special attention in clinical practice. We aimed to construct an indicator of the functional fitness age(ffA) of women aged 50 and older by an equation using fitness outcomes and its correlation with chronological age(CA) and to analyze the external validity of our results by comparing our sample to ***: Participants(n=459, age: 70.3 ± 7.9 years, mean ± SD) were evaluated using the Senior fitness Test battery. We applied a multiple regression and a subsequent Holt's exponential smoothing to analyze the ***: We obtained a statistically significant expression of f(6, 452) = 328.384; p fficients of the equation explain81% of variability(R_(corrected)~2 = 0.813). The equation correlates fitness assessment in women aged 50 and over with regards to CA:ffA = 40.146 + 0.350 X CS(stand)-0.714 X AC(rep)-0.110 X ST(step)-0.177 X CSR(cm)-0.101 X BS(cm) + 8.835 X fUG(s) where CS means chair stand test, AC. means arm curl test, ST means 2-min step test, CSR means chair sit-and-reach test, BS means back scratch test, fUG means 8-foot up-and-go test. We compared this index with percentiles distribution from our sample and from other ***: We suggest the use of ffA as a valid indicator of fitness in adult and senior women as well as a useful motivational tool to undertake exercise programs.
