A comparative study on characteristics of retracted publications across different open access levels

Purpose:Recently,global science has shown an increasing open trend,however,the characteristics of research integrity of open access(OA)publications have rarely been *** aim of this study is to compare the characteristics of retracted articles across different OA levels and discover whether OA level influences the characteristics of retracted ***/methodology/approach:The research conducted an analysis of 6,005 retracted publications between 2001 and 2020 from the Web of Science and Retraction Watch *** publications were categorized based on their OA levels,including Gold OA,Green OA,and *** study explored retraction rates,time lags and reasons within these ***:The findings of this research revealed distinct patterns in retraction rates among different OA *** with Gold OA demonstrated the highest retraction rate,followed by Green OA and non-OA.A comparison of retraction reasons between Gold OA and non-OA categories indicated similar proportions,while Green OA exhibited a higher proportion due to falsification and manipulation issues,along with a lower occurrence of plagiarism and authorship *** retraction time lag was shortest for Gold OA,followed by non-OA,and longest for Green *** prolonged retraction time for Green OA could be attributed to an atypical distribution of retraction reasons.A comparative study on characteristics of retracted publications across different open access levels Research limitations:There is no exploration of a wider range of OA levels,such as Hybrid OA and Bronze *** implications:The outcomes of this study suggest the need for increased attention to research integrity within the OA *** occurrences offalsification,manipulation,and ethical concerns within Green OA publications warrant attention from the scientific ***/value:This study contributes to the understanding of research integrity in the realm of OA publications,she

Chiral mesostructured hematite with temperature-independent magnetism due to spin confinement

Hematite(α-Fe_(2)O_(3))is known to undergo conversion from weak ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic as the temperature decreases below the Morin temperature(TM=250 K)due to spin moment rotation occurring during the Morin transition(MT).Herein,we endowed hematite with mesostructured chirality to maintain weak ferromagnetism without *** mesostructured hematite(CMH)nanoparticles were prepared by a hydrothermal method with glutamic acid(Glu)as the symmetry-breaking *** triangular bipyramidal CMH nanoparticles were composed of helically cleaved nanoflakes with twisted crystal ***-cooled(FC)magnetization measurements showed that the magnetic moments of CMH were stabilized without MT within the temperature range of 10–300 *** loop measurements confirmed the weak ferromagnetism of *** enhanced Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction(DMI)was speculated to be responsible for the temperature-independent weak ferromagnetism,in which the spin configuration would be confined with canted antiferromagnetic coupling due to the mesostructured chirality of CMH.

Chiral inorganic materials have attracted great attention owning to their unique physical and chemical properties attributed to the symmetry-breaking of their *** inorganic materials can be endowed with chiral geometric configurations from achiral space group crystals through lattice twisting,screw dislocations or hierarchical self-assembled spiral morphologies,showing various characteristic chiral ***,the multilevel chirality in chiral nickel molybdate films(CNMFs)remains to be elaborately *** this paper,we report three hierarchical levels of chirality in CNMFs,spanning from the atomic to the micron scale,including primary helically coiled nanoflakes with twisted atomic crystal lattices,secondary helical stacking of layered nanoflakes,and tertiary asymmetric morphology between adjacent *** findings may enrich the chiral self-assembly structural types and provide valuable insights for the comprehensive analysis path of hierarchical chiral crystals.

Efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture for insomnia:A systematic review and meta-analysis

Flexible head-following motion planning for scalable and bendable continuum robots

Energy spectrum computed tomography multi-parameter imaging in preoperative assessment of vascular and neuroinvasive status in gastric cancer

Infrared microspectroscopy beamline BL06B at SSRF

The infrared microspectroscopy beamline(BL06B) is a phase Ⅱ beamline project at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF). The construction and optical alignment of BL06B were completed by the end of 2020. By 2021, it became accessible to users. The synchrotron radiation infrared(SRIR) source included edge radiation(ER) and bending magnet radiation(BMR). The extracted angles in the horizontal and vertical directions were 40 and 20 mrad, respectively. The photon flux, spectral resolution, and focused spot size were measured at the BL06B endstation, and the experimental results were consistent with theoretical calculations. SRIR light has a small divergence angle, high brightness, and a wide wavelength range. As a source of IR microscopy, it can easily focus on a diffraction-limited spatial resolution with a high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). The BL06B endstation can be applied in a wide range of research fields, including materials, chemistry, biology, geophysics, and pharmacology.

Polygon search algorithm for ultra-compact multifunctional integrated photonics design

Ultra-compact multifunctional integrated photonic modules have great practical significance to photonic integrated circuits (PICs).However,the design effect and efficiency of the existing mainstream inverse design algorithms are incompetent when designing these *** analyze their shortcomings in this task,and propose a new,to our knowledge,inverse design algorithm named polygon search (PS) algorithm to address these *** utilize the PS algorithm to design an integrated dual-channel mode-conversion-crossing waveguide *** module integrates three functions:interconversion between te_(0) and te_(1),interconversion between te_(0) and te_(2),and channel crossing within only a 4μm×4μm footprint,and its performance is verified by experimental *** not only greatly reduces the total footprint of many PICs but also greatly improves their fabricating ***,we propose a PS-designed mode mixer and a PS-designed bending waveguide,and connect them with the integrated modules to form a four-channel crossing-mode-division-multiplexing *** system can provide multiple modes on the basis of channel crossing and transmit the output signal in the same direction in parallel within a single output waveguide,which significantly increases the communication bandwidth and decreases the footprint of *** last,we demonstrate the effect and efficiency advantages of the PS algorithm over several mainstream inverse design algorithms by a comprehensive contrast experiment and explain these advantages in theory from several perspectives.
