Rapid globalization has led to many studies of cross-cultural issues and their implications for management. As China＇s importance in the international economy rises, the level of international business cooperation continues to increase. This paper first identifies differences in the cultural orientations of Chinese and Canadians entering the job market and then examines how these orientations are related to their perceptions of the criteria employers use when hiring. The analyses show that the cultural differences are not consistent with hofstede＇s previous work. Further, there are significant differences in the qualities that are considered important when seeking a job. The results of this study increase mutual understanding and improve business relationships between the two countries.

herein, hierarchically structured SnO2 microspheres are designed and synthesized as an efficient anode material for lithium-ion batteries using hollow SnO2 nanoplates. Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous （3-DOM） SnOx-C microspheres synthesized by spray pyrolysis are transformed into hierarchically structured SnO2 microspheres by a two-step post-treatment process. Sulfidation produces hierarchically structured SnS-SnS2-C microspheres comprising tin sulfide nanoplate and carbon building blocks. A subsequent oxidation process produces SnO2 microspheres from hollow SnO2 nanoplate building blocks, which are formed by kirkendall diffusion. The discharge capacity of the hierarchically structured SnO2 microspheres at a current density of 5 Ag^-1 for the 600th cycle is 404 mA·h·g^-1. The hierarchically structured SnO2 microspheres have reversible discharge capacities of 609 and 158 mA·h·g^-1 at current densities of 0.5 and 30 Ag^-1, respectively. The ultrafine nanosheets contain empty voids that allow excellent lithium-ion storage performance, even at high current densities.

Multicomponent metal sulfide materials with a yolk–shell structure and a single phase were studied for the first time as anode materials for sodium-ion batteries. Yolk–shell-structured Fe–Ni–O powders with a molar ratio of iron and nickel components of 1/1 were prepared via one-pot spray pyrolysis. The prepared Fe–Ni–O powders were transformed into yolk–shell-structured (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 solid-solution powders via a sulfidation process. The initial discharge and charge capacities of the (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders at a current density of 1 A·g−1 were 601 and 504 mA·h·g−1, respectively. The discharge capacities of the (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders for the 2nd and 100th cycle were 530 and 527 mA·h·g−1, respectively, and their corresponding capacity retention measured from the 2nd cycle was 99%. The (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders had high initial discharge and charge capacities at a low current density of 0.1 A·g−1, and the reversible discharge capacity decreased slightly from 568 to 465 mA·h·g−1 as the current density increased from 0.1 to 5.0 A·g−1. The synergetic effect of the novel yolk–shell structure and the multicomponent sulfide composition of the (Fe0.5Ni0.5)9S8 powders resulted in excellent sodium-ion storage performance.

Effect of temperature-dependent viscosity on fully developed forced convection in a duct of rectangular cross-section occupied by a fluid-saturated porous medium is investigated analytically. The Darcy flow model is applied and the viscosity-temperature relation is assumed to be an inverse-linear one. The case of uniform heat flux on the walls, i.e. the h boundary condition in the terminology of kays and Crawford [12], is treated. For the case of a fluid whose viscosity decreases with temperature, it is found that the effect of the variation is to increase the Nusselt number for heated walls. having found the velocity and the temperature distribution, the second law of thermodynamics is invoked to find the local and average entropy generation rate. Expressions for the entropy generation rate, the Bejan number, the heat transfer irreversibility, and the fluid flow irreversibility are presented in terms of the Brinkman number, the Péclet number, the viscosity variation number, the dimensionless wall heat flux, and the aspect ratio （width to height ratio）. These expressions let a parametric study of the problem based on which it is observed that the entropy generated due to flow in a duct of square cross-section is more than those of rectangular counterparts while increasing the aspect ratio decreases the entropy generation rate similar to what previously reported for the clear flow case by Ratts and Rant [14].

We are interested in a viscous two-phase gas-liquid mixture model relevant for modeling of well control operations within the petroleum industry. We focus on a simplified mixture model and provide an existence result within an appropriate class of weak solutions. We demonstrate that upper and lower limits can be obtained for the gas and liquid masses which ensure that transition to single-phase regions do not occur. This is used together with appropriate a prior estimates to obtain convergence to a weak solution for a sequence of approximate solutions corresponding to mollified initial data. Moreover, by imposing an additional regularity condition on the initial masses, a uniqueness result is obtained. The framework herein seems useful for further investigations of more realistic versions of the gas-liquid model that take into account different flow regimes.

Early Miocene（ca.21-18 Ma） volcanism in the karacadag area comprises three groups of volcanic rocks:（1） calcalkaline suite（andesitic to rhyolitic lavas and their pyroclastics）,（2） mildly-alkaline suite（alkali basalt,hawaiite,mugearite,benmoreite and trachydacite）,and（3） a single trachyandesitic flow *** observations,40Ar/39Ar ages and geochemical data show that there was a progressive temporal transition from group 1 to 3 in a post-collisional tectonic *** calcalkaline suite rocks with medium-k in composition resemble those of subduction-related lavas, whereas the mildly-alkaline suite rocks having a sodic tendency（Na2O/k2O=l.5-3.2） resemble those of within-plate *** element and Sr-Nd isotopic characteristics of the suites suggest that the lithospheric mantle beneath the karacadag area was heterogeneously enriched by two processes before collision:（1） enrichment by subduction-related processes,which is important in the genesis of the calcalkaline volcanism,（2） enrichment by small degree melts from the astenosphere,which dominates the mildly alkaline *** of the enriched lithosphere by either delamination following collision and uplift or removal of the subducted slab following subduction and collision（i.e.,slab breakoff） is the likely mechanism for the initiation of the post-collision volcanism.

A large class of partial differential equations in the modelling of ocean waves are due to Ostrovsky. We determine the invariance properties （through the Lie point symmetry generators） and construct classes of conservation laws for some of the models. In the latter case, the method involves finding the ＇multipliers＇ associated with the conservation laws with a stronger emphasis on the ＇higher-order＇ ones. The relationship between the symmetries and conservation laws is investigated by considering the invariance properties of the multipliers.

The electron energy distribution function （EEDF） for a magnetically filtered dusty plasma is studied in a dusty double plasma device where the electron energy can be varied from 0.15 eV to ～ 2.8 eV and plasma density from 10 6 cm-3 to 10 9cm-3 . The characteristics of EEDF for these ranges of plasma parameters are investigated in a pristine plasma as well as in a dusty plasma. The results show that in the presence of dust, there is a drastic modification in EEDF patterns in a plasma with higher electron temperature and density than those in a low temperature and low density plasma produced by the magnetic filter.
