Purpose:The aim of the present study was to analyze the associations of youths' sedentary behavior(sB) with parents' and siblings' sB and physical activity(PA),as well as the associations of youths' coparticipation with parents,siblings,and friends in PA and sB with youths' ***:The sample consisted of 1543 youths(12.02±2.51 years;788 boys) enrolled in the baseline cohort of the UP&DOWN *** was assessed by accelerometry and *** reported the time spent by their parents and siblings watching television,playing videogames,surfing the Internet,sitting/resting,and doing ***,participants reported coparticipation with parents,siblings,and friends in these *** mixed models,including school and city as random effects,were ***:Parents' television time was positively associated with youths' screen-based *** with friends in playing videogames(in boys) and in surfing the Internet(in girls) showed a positive association with screen-based sB and a negative association with educational-based ***,coparticipation with siblings and friends in PA was inversely associated with accelerometer-based sB in boys and ***:Our results emphasize the important role of social modeling in the development of sedentary lifestyles in *** aimed at reducing health risk behaviors in youths could be more effective if they are oriented from a social perspective that involves their families and networks of their closest friends.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the main cause of death in older adults. There is strong evidence that regular physical activity (PA) reduces the risk of CVD mortality in this population group. However, these studies used baseline data and do not account for potential changes in PA. Previous research on the mortality effect of changes in PA focused on all-cause deaths; hence, this is the first study aimed to examine the association of changes in PA with subsequent CVD mortality in older adults.

Effectiveness of statins *** on reducing postprandial hypertriglyceridemia in dyslipidemic population:A systematic review and network meta-analysis

Background:Individuals at risk of suffering cardiovascular disease(CVD) present with larger increases in blood trigyceride(TG) concentration after a high-fat meal than do healthy *** postprandial hypertriglyceride levels are an independent risk factor for *** of statins and a bout of prolonged exercise are both effective in lowering postprandial hypertriglyceride *** aimed to evaluate the comparative effectiveness of statins vs.a bout of aerobic exercise in reducing fasting and postprandial TG(PPTG) concentrations in indiv、duals at high nsk of developing ***:Thirty-seven sltudies from a systematic literature search of the PubMed,EMBAsE,and Cochrane databases were included in this *** selected studies conducted trials involving statin therapy(n=20) or a bout of aerobic exercise(n=19) and measured their impact on PPTG levels as the *** studies analyzed both treatments and were included in *** meta-analysis was constructed using a random-effects model to calculate the mean difference(MD).The student t test was used to compare the data sets for statins ***:Overall,statin and exercise interventions showed similar reductions in PPTG levels,with an MD of-0.65 mmol/L for statins(95% confidence interval(95%CI):-0.54 to-0.77;p se(95%CI:-0.21 to-0.71;p statins lowered fasting TG levels more than exercise(MD=-1.54 mmol/L,95%CI:-2.25 to-0.83;p=0.009).Conclusion:Although aerobic exercise is effective in lowering blood TG levels,statins seem to be more efficient,especially in the fasted state.A combination of exercise and statins might reveal a valuable approach to the treatment and prevention of *** studies are required to determine the underlying mechanisms and the possible additive effects of these interventions.

Unsupervised machine learning to classify crystal structures according totheir structural distortion: A case study on Li-argyrodite solid-state electrolytes

High-throughput approaches in computational materials discovery often yield a combinatorial explosionthat makes the exhaustive rendering of complete structural and chemical spaces impractical. A commonbottleneck when screening new compounds with archetypal crystal structures is the lack of fast and reliabledecision-making schemes to quantitatively classify the computed candidates as inliers or outliers (too distortedstructures). Machine learning-aided workflows can solve this problem and make geometrical optimizationprocedures more efficient. However, for this to occur, there is still a lack of appropriate combinations ofsuitable geometrical descriptors and accurate unsupervised models which are capable of accurately differentiating between systems with subtle structural changes. Here, considering as a case study the compositionalscreening of cubic Li-argyrodites solid electrolytes, we tackle this problem head on. We find that steinhardtorder parameters are very accurate descriptors of the cubic argyrodite structure to train a range of commonunsupervised outlier detection models. And, most importantly, the approach enables us to automatically classifycrystal structures with uncertainty control. The resulting models can then be used to screen computed structureswith respect to an user-defined error threshold and discard too distorted structures during geometricaloptimization procedures. Implemented as a decision node in computer-aided materials discovery workflows,this approach can be employed to perform autonomous high-throughput screening methods and make the useof computational and data storage resources more efficient.

Dispersion of niquel on the microstructure in magnesium based alloys for hydrogen storage

Mg–Xwt.%Ni(X=5 and 20)alloys have been prepared by mechanical alloying using milling times of 15 and 30 h in a planetary ball milling to know the effects of magnesium with the addition of Ni as catalyst,dispersion on the microstructure,area surface and the efficiency of hydrogen ***-EDs,XRD and ImageJ^(■)software have been used to characterize the microstructure and chemical composition of the *** experiments were performed as batch-type tests at 200,250 and 300℃ under 2 MPa H2 pressure during 30 *** experiments resulted in varying amounts of MgH2 in the hydrided powders depending on composition and hydriding *** best results point to an optimum Ni dispersion,which in turn depends on Ni content and milling time.

Transient Receptor Potential Ion Channels in the Etiology and Pathomechanism of Chronic Fatigue syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis

Chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFs/ME) is a disabling condition of unknown cause having multi-system manifestations. Our group has investigated the potential role of transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channels in the etiology and pathomechanism of this illness. store-operated calcium entry (sOCE) signaling is the primary intracellular calcium signaling mechanism in non-excitable cells and is associated with TRP ion channels. While the sub-family (Canonical) TRPC has been traditionally associated with this important cellular mechanism, a member of the TRPM sub-family group (Melastatin), TRPM3, has also been recently identified as participating in sOCE in white matter of the central nervous system. We have identified single nucleotide polymorphisms (sNPs) in TRP genes in natural killer (NK) cells and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in CFs/ME patients. We also describe biochemical pathway changes and calcium signaling perturbations in blood cells from patients. The ubiquitous distribution of TRP ion channels and specific locations of sub-family group members such as TRPM3 suggest a contribution to systemic pathology in CFs/ME.

Decreased Expression of TRPM3 and mAChRM3 in the small Intestine in Chronic Fatigue syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis

Introduction: Chronic Fatigue syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFs/ME) is often associated with gastrointestinal disturbance and inflammatory markers;however, there have been no histological studies performed in the small intestine from CFs/ME patients. The aim of this investigation was to assess the expression of certain inflammatory markers and inflammatory receptors, namely transient receptor potential melastin 3 (TRPM3) ion channels and muscarinic acetylcholine M3 (mAChRM3) receptors, in small intestinal tissues in a case controlled study comprising a CFs/ME patient and a healthy non-fatigued control. Method: Immunohistochemistry was performed on a small intestinal biopsy from a CFs/ME patient (age = 50;female) with self-reported symptoms of gastrointestinal disturbance and a non-fatigued control (NFC), (age = 28;female). semi-quantitative analysis of expression was undertaken for interferon-gamma (IFNy), interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1α), tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα), TRPM3 ion channels and mAChRM3 acetylcholine receptors. Results: There was significantly decreased expression of TRPM3 in the CFs/ME patient (35% ±9%) and a significant decrease in mAChRM3 in the CFs/ME patient (54% ±9%). There was no difference in IL-1α between CFs/ME patient and NFC, however;there was an increase in IFNy (13% ±6%) in the CFs/ME patient compared to NFC. There was a difference observed in TNFα in CFs/ME compared to NFC. Conclusion: Differences were noted in the expression of specific TRP ion channels and cholinergic receptors in CFs/ME compared with NFC, with CFs/ME demonstrating decreased TRPM3 and mAChRM3. Further, IFNy was increased, and TNFα decreased, in the small intestine of the CFs/ME patient with reported gastrointestinal disturbance.

PURPOsE: Carcinomatosis from colon and rectal cancer has always been regarded as a lethal condition. Recently, numerous reports suggest that long-term survival is possible in selected patients if a definitive management strategy is used. An important task involves the clear description of the clinical features that influence prognosis in these patients. METHODs: From June 1981 to November 2004, 156 patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis secondary to colorectal cancer underwent cytoreductive surgery with perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy. Among these patients, 11 had rectal cancer with carcinomatosis and are the focus of the present study. The survival of patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis of rectal cancer origin was compared with patients with colon cancer. In the data analysis, patients were classified by completeness of cytoreduction score. REsULTs: The mean follow-up for 11 patients with rectal cancer was 15.7 (range, 3-51) months. At the end of the cytoreductive surgery, the cytoreduction was complete in six patients, nearly complete in two patients, and there was gross disease in three patients. The median survival of the six rectal cancer patients with complete cytoreduction was 17 (range, 12-29) months and 35 (range, 3-241) months for 64 colon cancer patients with complete cytoreduction (P = 0.126). The five-year survival for patients with rectal cancer with complete cytoreduction was 0 percent and for patients with colon cancer was 33 percent. CONCLUsIONs: Patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis secondary to rectal cancer treated by cytoreductive surgery combined with intraperitoneal chemotherapy have a poor prognosis. some improvement in these poor results may occur if resection of a rectal cancer with carcinomatosis is delayed until definitive treatment of the primary cancer plus the carcinomatosis is possible.
