The first step in the design phase of the Brushless Direct Current(BLDC)motor is the formulation of the mathematical framework and is often used due to its analytical ***,the BLDC motor design problem is considered to be an optimization *** this paper,the analytical model of the BLDC motor is presented,and it is considered to be a basis for emphasizing the optimization *** analytical model used for the experimentation has 78 non-linear equations,two objective functions,five design variables,and six non-linear constraints,so the BLDC motor design problem is considered as highly non-linear in electromagnetic ***-objective optimization becomes the forefront of the current research to obtain the global best solution using metaheuristic *** bio-inspired multi-objective grey wolf optimizer(MOGWO)is presented in this paper,and it is formulated based on Pareto optimality,dominance,and archiving *** performance of theMOGWO is verified on standard multi-objective unconstraint benchmark functions and applied to the BLDC motor design *** results proved that the proposedMOGWO algorithm could handle nonlinear constraints in electromagnetic optimization *** performance comparison in terms of Generational Distance,inversion GD,Hypervolume-matrix,scattered-matrix,and coverage metrics proves that the MOGWO algorithm can provide the best solution compared to other selected *** source code of this paper is backed up with extra online support at https://***/mysite and https://***/matlabcentral/fileexchange/75259-multiobjective-non-sorted-grey-wolf-mogwo-nsgwo.

The number of Internet users and the number of web pages being added to www increase dramatically every day. It is therefore required to automatically and efficiently classify web pages into web directories. This helps the search engines to provide users with relevant and quick retrieval results. As web pages are represented by thousands of features, feature selection helps the web page classifiers to resolve this large scale dimensionality problem. This paper proposes a new feature selection method using Ward’s minimum variance measure. This measure is first used to identify clusters of redundant features in a web page. In each cluster, the best representative features are retained and the others are eliminated. Removing such redundant features helps in minimizing the resource utilization during classification. The proposed method of feature selection is compared with other common feature selection methods. Experiments done on a benchmark data set, namely WebKB show that the proposed method performs better than most of the other feature selection methods in terms of reducing the number of features and the classifier modeling time.

Osteonecrosis(ON) is caused by inadequate blood supply leading to bone death, which results in the collapse of the architectural bony structure. Femoral head is the most common site involved in ON. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) is a commonly used imaging modality to detect early ON. When MRI is inconclusive, bone scan is helpful in detecting ON during early phase of the disease. As newer nuclear medicine equipment, like single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography(CT) and positron emission tomography/CT, are emerging in medical science, we review the role of these imaging modalities in ON of femoral head.

Energy transfer in co-and tri-doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors

Single-doped（Ce3＋,Tb3＋）, co-doped（Ce3＋-Tb3＋, Ce3＋-Yb3＋, Tb3＋-Yb3＋） and tri-doped（Ce3＋-Tb3＋-Yb3＋） Y3Al5O12 phosphors were synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. The XRD, excitation and emission spectra and the fluorescence lifetime of the samples were measured. The energy transfer mechanism was also investigated. The results showed that the energy transfer efficiency from Tb3＋ to Ce3＋ was 51% and the energy transfer efficiency from Ce3＋ to Yb3＋ was 63.1%. Concomitantly, both were more efficient than that from Ce3＋ to Tb3＋（7%） and from Tb3＋ to Yb3＋（10.2%）. Also, the Yb3＋ ions received energy mainly from Ce3＋ ions in Ce3＋-Tb3＋-Yb3＋ tri-doped Y3Al5O12 phosphors. Among these materials, Ce3＋-Yb3＋ co-doped YAG phosphors are a better choice than others as a down-conversion material due to their higher energy transfer efficiency.

In machine learning and data mining,feature selection(FS)is a traditional and complicated optimization *** the run time increases exponentially,FS is treated as an NP-hard *** researcher’s effort to build a new FS solution was inspired by the ongoing need for an efficient FS framework and the success rates of swarming outcomes in different optimization *** paper presents two binary variants of a Hunger Games Search Optimization(HGSO)algorithm based on V-and S-shaped transfer functions within a wrapper FS model for choosing the best features from a large *** proposed technique transforms the continuous HGSO into a binary variant using V-and S-shaped transfer functions(BHGSO-V and BHGSO-S).To validate the accuracy,16 famous UCI datasets are considered and compared with different state-of-the-art metaheuristic binary *** findings demonstrate that BHGSO-V achieves better performance in terms of the selected number of features,classification accuracy,run time,and fitness values than other state-of-the-art *** results demonstrate that the BHGSO-V algorithm can reduce dimensionality and choose the most helpful features for classification *** proposed BHGSO-V achieves 95%average classification accuracy for most of the datasets,and run time is less than 5 *** low and medium dimensional datasets and less than 10 sec for high dimensional datasets.

Molecular characterization of antimicrobial multi-drug resistance in non-typhoidal Salmonellae from chicken and clam in Mangalore, India

Salmonella enterica has been documented as one of the leading causes of salmonellosis throughout the world and is most commonly associated with the consumption of contaminated food products. Thus, this research was aimed at studying the antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and detection of quinolone resistance in Salmonella spp isolated from food of animal origin. Thirty-six Salmonella isolates comprising 8 from poultry and 28 from seafood（clams） were identified, serotyped and characterized for their antimicrobial susceptibility against 10 different antibiotics. Plasmid DNA was isolated from all the isolates by alkaline lysis, quinolone resistant non-typhoidal S. Weltevreden were examined for mutation in the DNA gyrase coding gene. Among the 36 Salmonella isolates, 20 were S. weltevreden（8 from poultry and 12 from seafood） and 16 were S. Typhimurium（from seafood）. All the isolates showed multiple resistance to nalidixic acid, tetracycline, co-trimoxazole and nitrofurantoin, but, interestingly, the isolates were 100% susceptible to ampicillin, chloramphenicol and gentamicin. Resistant isolates from the study carried the genes responsible for resistance to respective antibiotics. The strain S130 isolated in the study showed single point mutation,Asp87Gly, at position 87 in quinolone resistance determining region. It revealed mutation in quinolone resistance determining region as a cause for quinolone resistance in non-typhoidal Salmonellae. The occurrence of genes accountable for plasmid mediated resistance to quinolones（viz., qnrA, qnrB and qnrS） in plasmid of non-typhoidal Salmonellae isolates provides evidence for plasmid mediated quinolone resistance.

Measurement of Elastic Parameters of Lithium Hydroxylammonium Sulphate Single Crystal, by Ultrasonic Pulse Echo Overlap Technique

Ultrasonics is the most established and precise technique to determine the elastic parameters of materials. Elastic constants are important parameters of a crystal which provide valuable infor-mation about the bonding characteristic between adjacent atomic planes and the anisotropic cha-racter of the bonding and structural ability. Second order elastic constants can be measured by measuring the velocity of the ultrasonic pulses of different polarization along different symmetry directions. Elastic Constants of Lithium Hydroxylammonium Sulphate [LHAS] single crystal by ul-trasonic Pulse Echo Overlap [PEO] technique are reported for the first time. Large single crystals of LHAS of size [26×26×10] ?mm3 have been grown from supersaturated aqueous solution of the salt by slow evaporation technique over a period of 40 - 45 days at 305 K. Absolute velocities at room temperature (303 K) have been measured for the selected direction and modes with McSkimin criterion. The anisotropy in the elastic properties of LHAS is well studied by measuring ultrasonic velocity in the crystal in certain specified crystallographic directions. The elastic stiffness constants C11, C33, C44, C55, and C66, and Acoustic impedance constants and Rao’s constants in specified directions are evaluated.

An extensive study of the thermal properties of Lithium Sodium Sulphate Hexa hydrate (LSSW) single crystal, with Trigonal structure, has been carried out using ultrasonic Pulse Echo Overlap (PEO) technique, Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA). The temperature variation of elastic constants of LiNa3(SO4)2·6H2O single crystal have been reported for the first time. The second order elastic stiffness constants C11,?C33, C44, along the various directions in the crystal have been determined in the temperature range 300 - 330 K. The change in velocity with temperature with respect to the room temperature value has been measured using PEO technique. Significant anomalies were observed in C11?and C33?at 316 K. The elastic constant C12?has shown no variation in the temperature range 300 - 319 K. A minor deviation for C44?at 305 K following a parabolic change has been observed. The minor anomalies observed in the elastic constants of LSSW may be due to its dehydration of water of crystallization in the range 304 - 319 K. DTA studies showed an appreciable endothermic change in the range 309 K-369.79 K. TGA curve exhibited a decrease in weight of 1.687 mg in the temperature range 304 K-360 K. The minor anomalies observed in the elastic constants of LSSW may be due to loosing of its water of crystallization in the range 309 - 319 K. On loosing water there will not be any change in chemical structure but there will be physical change associated with loosing of water molecule.
