Forced degradation study of argatroban under conditions of hydrolysis(neutral, acidic and alkaline), oxidation,photolysis and thermal stress, as suggested in the ICH Q1 A(R2), was accomplished. The drug showed significant degradation under hydrolysis(acidic, alkaline) and oxidation(peroxide stress) conditions. The drug remained stable under thermal and photolytic stress conditions. In total, seven novel degradation products(DP-1 to DP-7) were found under diverse conditions, which were not reported earlier. The chemical structures of these degradation products were characterized by ~1H NMR,^(13)C NMR, 2 D NMR, Q-TOF-MSnand IR spectral analysis and the proposed degradation products structures were further confirmed by the individual synthesis.

Objective:To determine the efficacies of antibacterial and antioxidant activities of aqueous leaf extract of Psidium guajava mediated biosynthesis of titanium dioxide nanoparticles(TiO_2,NPs).Methods:Synthesized TiO_2 NPs were tested by disc diffusion method against against human pathogenic *** total antioxidant activity and phenolic content(Folin—Ciocalteau method) of synthesized TiO_2 NTs and aqueous plant extract were *** scavenging radicals were estimated hv DPPH *** synthesized TiO_2 NPs were characterized by XRD,*** and EDX,Results:FTIR spectra of synthesized TiO_2 NPs exhibited prominent peaks at 3410 cm^(-1)(alkynes),1 578 cm^(-1).1 451 cm^(-1)(alkanes),and 1 123 cm^(-1)(C-O absorption).The morphological characterization of synthesized TiO_2 NPs was analysed by FESEM which showed spherical shape and clusters with an average size of 32.58 *** maximum zone of inhibition was observed in the synthesized TiO_2 NPs(20 μg/mL) against Staphylococcus aureus(25 mm) and Escherichia coli(23 mm).The synthesized TiO_2 NPs showed more antibacterial activity than the standard antibiotic disk,tetracycline which drastically reduces the chances for the development of antibiotics resistance of bacterial *** plant aqueous extract and synthesized TiO_2NPs were found to possess maximum antioxidant activity when compared with ascorbic *** content of phenolic compounds(mg/g) in Leaf aqueous extract and synthesized TiO_2 NPs were found to be 85.4 and 18.3 mgTA/g,***:Green synthesized TiO_2 NPs provides a promising approach can satisfy the requirement of large-scale industrial production hearing the advantage of low—cost,eco—friendly and reproducible.

Nickel/nano-A1203 composite coatings produced by the pulse electrodeposition method and the influence of pulse parameters, i.e., pulse frequency, duty cycle, and current density on the microstructure, hardness, and corrosion resistance, were critically investigated on an AISI 1018 mild steel specimen electroplated in a Watt＇s type bath. The experiments were carried out with different combinations of pulse parameters using Taguchi＇s L27 orthogonal array, and 27 trials were conducted to study the effect of pulse parameters in view to maximize the hardness of the specimen. The assessment results clearly reveal that the specimen exhibits the maximum hardness at the pulse frequency of 20 Hz, duty cycle of 30%, and peak current density of 0.4 A/cm2, which are designated as the optimal parameters herein. Furthermore, the influences of those optimized pulse parameters over the microstructure and corrosion resistance were investigated, and some conclusions were drawn. Also, from the ANOVA examination, it is clear that duty cycle is predominant in affecting the hardness, while current density has relatively low impact.

Economic Dispatch (ED) problem is one of the main concerns of the power generation operations which are basically solved to generate optimal amount of power from the generating units in the system by minimizing the fuel cost and by satisfying the system constraints. The accuracy of ED solutions is highly influenced by the fuel cost parameters of the generating units. Generally, the parameters are subjected to transform due to aging process and other external issues. Further the parameters associated with the transmission line modelling also change due to aforementioned issues. The loss coefficients which are the functions of transmission line parameters get altered from the original value over a time. Hence, the periodical estimation of these coefficients is highly essential in power system problems for obtaining ideal solutions for ED problem. Estimating the ideal parameters of the ED problem may be the best solution for this issue. This paper presents the Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm to estimate the parameters associated with ED problem. The estimation problem is formulated as an error minimization problem. This work provides a frame work for the computation of coefficients for quadratic function, piecewise quadratic cost function, emission function, transmission line parameters and loss coefficients. The effectiveness of TLBO is tested with 2 standard test systems and an Indian utility system.

Effect of Alumina-Graphite Filler Blending on Tensile Behavior of Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Composites

In this study, the effect of addition of alumina-graphite fillers on tensile properties of glass fabric reinforced epoxy resin composites has been evaluated experimentally. glass fiber/epoxy composites without filler and with 2%, 4%, and 6% filler content are fabricated using "Hand Lay Up" method. Each of the fabricated composite panel has equal percentage of alumina and graphite fillers by weight. Specimens from the fabricated plates are cut and testing is carried out in accordance with ASTM D-638. The properties like tensile strength, tensile modulus, elongation at break and deflection are studied. Modes of fracture and fiber-matrix adhesion are also studied. Results revealed that composites with increase in filler content show a decrease in tensile strength, whereas lower elongation, and decrease in tensile modulus compared to composites without filler. Effect of incorporation of alumina-graphite fillers, does not show much improvement in the fiber-matrix interface in the composite. Elongation properties decreased with the presence of filler that indicates interference by the filler in the mobility or deformability of the matrix. This interference was created through the physical interaction and immobilization of the polymer matrix due to the filler particles imposing mechanical constraints. The tests showed brittle fracture of the tested samples.

This paper deals with a Unit Commitment (UC) problem of a power plant aimed to find the optimal scheduling of the generating units involving cubic cost functions. The problem has non convex generator characteristics, which makes it very hard to handle the corresponding mathematical models. However, Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) has reached a high efficiency, in terms of solution accuracy and computing time for such non convex problems. Hence, TLBO is applied for scheduling of generators with higher order cost characteristics, and turns out to be computationally solvable. In particular, we represent a model that takes into account the accurate higher order generator cost functions along with ramp limits, and turns to be more general and efficient than those available in the literature. The behavior of the model is analyzed through proposed technique on modified IEEE-24 bus system.
