Technological advancements in phylodynamic modeling coupled with the accessibility of real-time pathogen genetic data are increasingly important for understanding the infectious disease transmission *** this study,we compare the transmission potentials of North American influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 derived from sequence data to that derived from surveillance *** impact of the choice of tree-priors,informative epidemiological priors,and evolutionary parameters on the transmission potential estimation is *** American Influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 hemagglutinin(HA)gene sequences are analyzed using the coalescent and birth-death tree prior models to estimate the basic reproduction number(r_(0)).Epidemiological priors gathered from published literature are used to simulate the birth-death skyline ***-sampling marginal likelihood estimation is conducted to assess model fit.A bibliographic search to gather surveillancebased r_(0)values were consistently lower(mean≤1.2)when estimated by coalescent models than by the birth-death models with informative priors on the duration of infectiousness(mean≥1.3 to≤2.88 days).The user-defined informative priors for use in the birth-death model shift the directionality of epidemiological and evolutionary parameters compared to non-informative *** there was no certain impact of clock rate and tree height on the r_(0)estimation,an opposite relationship was observed between coalescent and birth-death tree *** was no significant difference(p=0.46)between the birth-death model and surveillance r0 *** study concludes that treeprior methodological differences may have a substantial impact on the transmission potential estimation as well as the evolutionary *** study also reports a consensus between the sequence-based r_(0)estimation and surveillanceased r_(0)***,these outcomes shed light on the potential role of phylodynamic modeling to augment existing surveillance

Background:Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors(ACEi)and angiotensin-II receptor blockers(ArB),the most commonly prescribed antihypertensive medications,counter renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system(rAAS)activation via induction of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)*** that ACE2 is the functional receptor for SArS-CoV-2 entry into host cells,the association of ACEi and ArB with COVID-19 outcomes needs thorough ***:We conducted retrospective analyses using both unmatched and propensity score(PS)-matched cohorts on electronic health records(EHrs)to assess the impact of rAAS inhibitors on the risk of receiving invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV)and 30-day mortality among hospitalized COVID-19 ***,we investigated the immune cell gene expression profiles of hospitalized COVID-19 patients with prior use of antihypertensive treatments from an observational prospective ***:The retrospective analysis revealed that there was no increased risk associated with either ACEi or ArB *** fact,the use of ACEi showed decreased risk for *** analyses using PS-matched cohorts suggested no significant relationship between rAAS inhibitors with a hospital stay and in-hospital mortality compared to non-rAAS medications and patients not on antihypertensive *** the analysis of gene expression profiles,we observed a noticeable up-regulation in the expression of 1L1r2(an anti-inflammatory receptor)and rETN(an immunosuppressive marker)genes in monocytes among prior users of ACE ***:Overall,the findings do not support the discontinuation of ACEi or ArB treatment and suggest that ACEi may moderate the COVID-19 hyperinflammatory response.

With the increasing demand for power system stability and resilience,effective real-time tracking plays a crucial role in smart grid ***,most studies have focused on measurement noise,while they seldom think about the problem of measurement data loss in smart power grid *** solve this problem,a resilient fault-tolerant extended Kalman filter(rFTEKF)is proposed to track voltage amplitude,voltage phase angle and frequency ***,a threephase unbalanced network’s positive sequence fast estimation model is ***,the loss phenomenon of measurements occurs randomly,and the randomness of data loss’s randomness is defined by discrete interval distribution[0,1].Subsequently,a resilient fault-tolerant extended Kalman filter based on the real-time estimation framework is designed using the timestamp technique to acquire partial data loss ***,extensive simulation results manifest the proposed rFTEKF can synchronize the smart grid more effectively than the traditional extended Kalman filter(EKF).

In this editorial we comment on the article published by Zhang et al in the recent issue of World Journal of Clinical *** evaluate their claims on the benefit of use of Aspirin in the early management of patients with ischemic *** also comment on their contention of using aspirin in the early management of patients with intracranial hemorrhage,a practice not seen in modern *** clinical trials such as the International Stroke Trial and the Chinese Acute Stroke Trial have shown the benefit of Aspirin use within 48 h of patients with Acute Ischemic *** findings were corroborated in the open-label trial performed by Zhang et al in a smaller sample group of 25 patients where they showed improvement in functional scores at 90 days without an increase in adverse *** such,this intervention is also recommended by the American Heart Association stroke guidelines from *** regard to Intracranial hemorrhage,traditional practice has been to discontinue or avoid antiplatelet therapy in these patient ***,no studies have been done to evaluate this management strategy that is more borne out of the mechanism behind Aspirin’s effect on the coagulation *** et al evaluate the benefits of Aspirin on patients with low-volume intracranial hemorrhage,i.e.,less than 30 mL on computed tomo-graphy imaging,and show no increase in *** caveat of this finding is that all outcomes were pooled into one group for results,and the number of patients was *** more studies with larger patient groups are required,the data from Zhang et al suggests that patients with small-volume intracranial hemorrhages may benefit from Aspirin administration in the acute phase of management.

Machine learning modeling for fuel cell-battery hybrid power system dynamics in a Toyota Mirai 2 vehicle under various drive cycles

Electrification is considered essential for the decarbonization of mobility sector, and understanding and modeling the complex behavior of modern fuel cell-battery electric-electric hybrid power systems is challenging, especially for product development and diagnostics requiring quick turnaround and fast computation. In this study, a novel modeling approach is developed, utilizing supervised machine learning algorithms, to replicate the dynamic characteristics of the fuel cell-battery hybrid power system in a 2021 Toyota Mirai 2nd generation (Mirai 2) vehicle under various drive cycles. The entire data for this study is collected by instrumenting the Mirai vehicle with in-house data acquisition devices and tapping into the Mirai controller area network bus during chassis dynamometer tests. A multi-input - multi-output, feed-forward artificial neural network architecture is designed to predict not only the fuel cell attributes, such as average minimum cell voltage, coolant and cathode air outlet temperatures, but also the battery hybrid system attributes, including lithium-ion battery pack voltage and temperature with the help of 15 system operating parameters. Over 21,0000 data points on various drive cycles having combinations of transient and near steady-state driving conditions are collected, out of which around 15,000 points are used for training the network and 6,000 for the evaluation of the model performance. Various data filtration techniques and neural network calibration processes are explored to condition the data and understand the impact on model performance. The calibrated neural network accurately predicts the hybrid power system dynamics with an r-squared value greater than 0.98, demonstrating the potential of machine learning algorithms for system development and diagnostics.

Effects of methionine supplementation in a reduced protein diet on growth performance, oxidative status, intestinal health, oocyst shedding, and methionine and folate metabolism in broilers under Eimeria challenge
