Management of proximal tibial stress fracture associated with advanced knee osteoarthritis:A systematic review

Purpose:Tibial stress fracture associated with knee osteoarthritis is an unusual and difficult clinical *** is no clear existing treatment guideline for this uncommon clinical *** aim of this study is to review the impact of various treatment options for patients with advanced knee osteoarthritis associated with proximal tibial stress ***:The study was performed using the databases of PubMed and *** index for non-randomized studies score was used to evaluate the included studies’*** concluded data included the treatment approach,reported outcome measure,and time to fracture *** literature search was started in December 2021 and accomplished in January 2022.A narrative description of the different methods and comparison of their results were ***:Out of total assessed 69 studies,9 studies were included in our *** commonest treatment approach used was total knee arthroplasty by long tibial stem *** mean preoperative knee society score and knee functional score were 30.62 and 23.17,*** mean postoperative knee society knee score was 86.87,while the functional score was *** average reported time to achieve fracture union was 4 months(a range of 2.07-5.50 months).Conclusion:The optimal clinical outcome for treating either acute or mobile tibial stress fracture in patients with advanced knee osteoarthritis can be achieved with long stem total knee ***,due to heterogeneity of data,comparison of different treatment options for chronic proximal tibial stress fracture mal-union/non-union coexisting with knee osteoarthritic and such inferences need to be judged cautiously.

The xNi_(0.83)Co_(0.15)Cu_(0.02)Fe_(1.9)O_(4-δ)+PbZr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48)O_(3)(PZT)particulate magneto ferroelectric composites with x=0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5 and 0.6 mole fraction were prepared by conventional ceramic double sintering *** presence of two phases(perovskite structure of ferroelectric phase and spinal structure of ferromagnetic phase)was confirmed by X-ray *** magnetoelectric(ME)property of the particulate composites was determined at room temperature as a function of intensity of magnetic *** temperature variation of the longitudinal modulus(L)and the internal friction(Q−1)of these particulate composites at 104.3 kHz was studied in the wide temperature range 30-420℃.The temperature variation of the longitudinal modulus in each composition of these particulate composites showed two abrupt *** minimum coincided with the ferroelectric-paraelectric Curie transition temperature(θE)and the other with the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic Curie transition temperature(θM).The internal friction measurement also showed two sharp peaks in each composition corresponding to those temperatures where the minima were noticed in the temperature variation of the longitudinal modulus behaviour.

Evapotranspiration is an essential component of the hydrological cycle that is of particular interest for water resource *** quantification is helpful in irrigation scheduling,water balance studies,water allocation,*** of reference evapotranspiration(ET0)using both gene expression programming(GEP)and artificial neural network(ANN)techniques was done using the daily meteorological data of the Pantnagar region,India,from 2010 to 2019.A total of 15 combinations of inputs were used in developing the ET0 *** model with the least number of inputs consisted of maximum and minimum air temperatures,whereas the model with the highest number of inputs consisted of maximum air temperature,minimum air temperature,mean relative humidity,number of sunshine hours,wind speed at 2mheight and extra-terrestrial radiation as inputs and with ET0 as the output for all the *** the GEP models were developed for a single functional set and pre-defined genetic operator values,while the best structure in each ANN model was found based on the performance during the testing *** was found that ANN models were superior to GEP models for the estimation *** was evident from the reduction in RMSE values ranging from 2%to 56%during training and testing phases in all the ANN models compared with GEP *** ANN models showed an increase of about 0.96%to 9.72%of R2 value compared to the respective GEP *** comparative study of these models with multiple linear regression(MLR)depicted that the ANN and GEP models were superior to MLR models.

The tension cracks and joints in rock or soil slopes affect their failure *** of rock or soil slope failure is one of the most challenging tasks in the earth *** actual slopes consist of inhomogeneous materials,complex morphology,and erratic *** studies concerning the failure of rock slopes primarily focused on determining Factor of Safety(FoS)and Critical Slip Surface(CSS).In this article,the effect of inclined tension crack on a rock slope failure is studied numerically with Shear Strength Reduction Factor(SRF)*** inclined Tension Crack(TC)inﬂuences the magnitude and location of the rock slope’s Critical Shear Strength Reduction Factor(CSRF).Certainly,inclined cracks are more prone to cause the failure of the slope than the vertical ***,all tension cracks do not lead to failure of the slope *** effect of the crest distance of the tension crack is also *** numerical results do not show any signiﬁcant change in the magnitude of CSRF unless the tip of the TC is very near to the crest of the *** is also replaced with a joint,and the results differ from the corresponding *** results are discussed regarding shear stress and Critical Slip Surface(CSS).

Design and Analysis of an Adaptive Handover Protocol for 4G Networks

The future generation networks or 4G networks constitute of varied technologies converged over the Internet protocol version 6(IPv6) core. The 4G networks offer varied services over different interfaces to the user nodes. Mobility management in 4G networks is an issue that exists. The handover protocols for mobility management in 4G networks that currently exist, do not consider wireless signal degradation during handover operations. This paper introduces the Noise Resilient Reduced Registration Time Care of Mobile IP(NR RRTC:MIP) protocol for handover management. A handover decision algorithm based on the signal strength measured by the user nodes is considered in the NR RRTC: MIP protocol. A simulation study is discussed in the paper to evaluate the performance of the NR RRTC: MIP protocol. The results obtained from the simulation study prove that the NR RRTC: MIP protocol effectively reduces handover latencies and improves network performance.

buildings located at rock sites. Modelling wave propagation through soil medium helps to derive the primary and secondary wave velocities. Most of the time soil mediums are heterogeneous, layered and undergoes nonlinear strains even under weak excitation. The equivalent linear approximation with one dimensional wave propagation is widely adopted for modeling earthquake excitation for layered soil. In this paper, importance of local soil effects, the process of wave propagation through three dimensional elastic medium, layered medium situated on rigid rock, attenuation of stress waves due to material damping, equivalent linear approximation, the concept of one dimensional wave propagation, and a case study of one dimensional wave propagation as a part of site-specific ground response analyses for Delhi region are included. The case study brings out the importance of carrying out site-specific ground response analyses of buildings considering the scenario earthquakes and actual soil conditions for Delhi region.

Blast Induced Damage to Surrounding Rock Mass in an Underground Excavation

Authors have conducted experiments to measure blast induced rock mass damage at L＆T-（Singoli-Bhatwari Hydro-Power Project SBHP） Rudraprayag. Repetitive NX size rock core up to 5.0 m depth were taken from side wall and face with triple tube core barrel drill. CR （core recovery） and RQD （rock quality designation） of the rock cores is computed to evaluate effect of blasting on the surrounding rock mass. RQD and CR values for the initial one meter from the line of excavation in each case reflect maximum damage due to blast. RQD for initial one meter reduced to as high as 40% of the average RQD. The rock samples were also tested using ultrasonic techniques. Ultrasonic tests on NX size core reveal that the 2.0 m of the zone surrounding the opening are adversely affected by the tunnel excavation blasting process. The ultrasonic velocities reduce to approx. 80% of the average values in the initial 0.5 m from the excavation line.

Dielectric studies were carried out on a lead free Sodium Bismuth Titanate,NBT,(Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3))*** material was synthesized by conventional ceramic method(CS)and microwave sintering(MS).The presence of single phase has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy of NBT *** later technique(MS)resulted in material with high density,dielectric properties and improved *** transition temperature was observed slightly higher for microwave sintered(MS)*** modulus measurements are very sensitive property to identify the phase transitions in *** modulus(L)measurements were also employed on these samples in the frequency 136 kHz and can be studied in the wide temperature range 30℃to 400℃.The elastic behavior(L)showed a break at two temperatures(~200℃and 350℃)in both the conventional and microwave sintered *** NBT ceramics,permittivity anomalies are connected to modulus *** results are correlated with the dielectric *** behavior explained in the light of structural phase transitions in the ferroelectric ceramics.
