Effectiveness of ivermectin mass drug administration in the control of soil-transmitted helminth infections in endemic populations: a systematic review and meta-analysis

rong>Background:rong> Gabapentin is routinely prescribed preoperatively to decrease postoperative pain intensity. It is included in the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) recommendations. Objective: To analyze correlation of gabapentin dosage and post anesthesia care unit (PACU) length of stay (LOS) and cost. Study Design: A retrospective chart review of patients who underwent general anesthesia and received preoperative oral gabapentin from June 2017 to August 2017 for pelvic and breast procedures. The main outcome was correlation between PACU LOS and gabapentin dosage in the outpatients. Financial analysis was performed to assess the cost to the hospital associated with increased LOS. Results: Of the 636 patients, 405 patients received 300 mg and 231 patients received 100 mg gabapentin. Mean dosage per kg (mg/kg ± SD) was 3.12 ± 1.51 (range: 0.86 to 6.12). Background Vasospasm is a frequent complication of subarachnoid hemorrhage ( SAH) ,implicated in poor outcome,and prediction of its occurrence might be important on the therapeutic approach of this condition. Brain oxygenation in aneurysmal SAH was prospectively monitored during surgery in 28 patients,using brain tissue oxygen pressure ( PbtO 2 ) ,studying its association with the occurrence of post-operative vasospasm,detected by transcranial Doppler. Methods PbtO 2 monitoring was performed during surgery of 28 patients with aneurysmal SAH,using a polarographic microcatheter ( Licox; GMS,Kiel,Germany) ,inserted into the cerebral tissue. The aneurysms were localized in the anterior communicating artery ( AcoA) complex ( eight cases) ,in the posterior communicating artery ( Pcom) origin ( seven cases) ,and in the middle cerebral artery ( MCA) bifurcation ( 13 cases) . Basal PbtO 2 values,obtained immediately before application of temporary or definitive clips,were studied according to age,clinical status and CT findings. The association between the basal values and the occurrence of increased blood flow velocity in the post-operative transcranial Doppler ( TCD vasospasm) was investigated. results Post-operative TCD vasospasm developed in 13 patients,all of them with basal values inferior to 10 mmHg. PbtO 2 basal value was significantly lower in cases that developed TCD vasospasm. This association was independent of age, clinical status,or CT findings. Conclusion The finding of low intraoperative basal PbtO 2 values may be an indicator for a high risk of occurrence of post-operative TCD vasospasm in cases of aneurysmatic SAH.

Intervention on toll-like receptors in pancreatic cancer

Aero-Hydrodynamic Coupled Dynamic Characteristics of Semi-Submersible Floating Offshore Wind Turbines Under Inflow Turbulence

In this study,the frequency characteristics of the turbulent wind and the effects of wind-wave coupling on the low-and high-frequency responses of semi-submersible floating offshore wind turbines(FOWT)are *** wave load components,such as first-order wave loads,combined first-and second-order difference-frequency wave loads,combined first-and second-order sum-frequency wave loads,and first-and complete second-order wave loads are taken into consideration,while different turbulent environments are considered in aerodynamic *** com-parison is based on time histories and frequency spectra of platform motions and structural load responses and statistical *** findings indicate that the second-order difference-frequency wave loads will significantly increase the natural frequency of low-frequency motion in the responses of the platform motion and structure load of the semi-submersible platform,which will cause structural fatigue *** the action of turbulent wind,the influences of second-order wave loads on the platform motion and structural load response cannot be ignored,especially under extreme sea ***,in order to evaluate the dynamic responses of semi-submersible FOWT more accurately,the actual environment should be simulated more realistically.

We prove that any C1-stable weakly shadowable volume-preserving diffeomorphism defined on a compact manifold displays a dominated splitting E ⊕ F. Moreover, both E and F are volume-hyperbolic. Finally, we prove the version of this result for divergence-free vector fields. As a consequence, in low dimensions, we obtain global hyperbolicity.
