Background: In Vitro Fertilization/Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (IVF/ICSI) represents the final step in the management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Our objective was to study the association between PCOS phenotypes and IVF/ICSI results in women admitted to Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproductive Teaching Hospital (CHRACERH). Material and Method: We carried out a cohort study with historical-prospective data collection over a period of seven years (January 2016 to March 2023) at Chracerh. PCOS patients were subdivided into 4 subgroups A, B, C and d. Results: We recruited 128 patients including 64 PCOS patients divided into four phenotypes and 64 non-PCOS patients constituting the control group. Phenotype d without hyperandrogenism had used the lowest dose of gonadotropins, i.e. 1939.7 ± 454.3 IU, and had produced a greater quantity of estradiol on the day ovulation was triggered (6529.8 ± 4324.8 ng/ml). The average number of punctured follicles and mature oocytes were higher in the phenotype d group. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) occurred mainly in phenotype d (3/35), with an estimated prevalence of 2.3%. The fertilization rate seemed lower in the hyperandrogenic phenotypes A, B, C compared to the group without hyperandrogenism without significant difference (p = 0.461). The biological pregnancy rate and live birth rate were comparable between the different groups. Conclusion: Phenotype d used less dose of gonadotropins. Biological pregnancy and live birth rates were comparable between the different phenotypes.

It is well known the ability of primary and secondary nitroalkanes to generate carbanions (under basic conditions) strongly stabilized by the electron-withdrawing effect of the nitro group[1-4]. Thus, the main use of nitroalkanes is devoted to the generation of new carbon-carbon bonds through two principal approaches (Scheme 1): (i) reaction with carbonyl derivatives (nitroaldol-Henry-reaction), and (ii) Michael addition to electron poor alkenes.

Mammalian fertilization is a complex process that involves different steps of interaction between the male and female gametes. In spite of its relevance, the molecular mechanisms underlying this process still remain to be elucidated. The present review describes the contribution of our laboratory to the understanding of mammalian fertilization using Cysteine-Rlch Secretory Proteins （CRISP） as model molecules. Substantial evidence obtained from in vitro assays and knockout models shows that epididymal CRISP1 associates with the sperm surface with two different affinities during maturation, and participates in the regulation of signaling pathways during capacitation as well as in both sperm-zona pellucida interaction and gamete fusion. These observations can be extended to humans as judged by our findings showing that the human homolog of the rodent protein （hCRISP1） is also involved in both stages of fertilization. Evidence supports that other members of the CRISP family secreted in the testis （CRISP2）, epididymis （CRISP3-4） or during ejaculation （CRISP3） are also involved in sperm-egg interaction, supporting the existence of a functional redundancy and cooperation between homolog proteins ensuring the success of fertilization. Together, our observations indicate that CRISP proteins accompany spermatozoa along their transit through both the male and female reproductive tracts. We believe these results not only contribute to a better mechanistic understanding of fertilization but also support CRISP proteins as excellent candidates for future research on infertility and contraception.

AIM:To study the action of aminoguanidine on pancreatic cancer xenografts in relation to cell proliferation,apoptosis,redox status and ***:Xenografts of PANC-1 cells were developed in nude mice. The animals were separated into two groups:control and aminoguanidine treated. Tumor growth,survival and appearance of metastases were determined in vivo in both groups. Tumors were excised and ex vivo histochemical studies were performed. Cell growth was assessed by Ki-67 expression. Apoptosis was studied by intratumoral expression of B cell lymphoma-2 protein (Bcl-2) family proteins and Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase biotin-dUTP Nick End Labeling (Tunel). Redox status was evaluated by the expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS),catalase,copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (CuZnSOd),manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOd) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Finally,vascularization was determined by Massons trichromic staining,and by VEGF and Cd34 ***:Tumor volumes after 32 d of treatment by aminoguanidine (AG) were significantly lower than in control mice (P dian survival of AG mice was significantly greater than control animals (P d contralateral palpable metastases was significantly delayed in AG group. Apoptotic cells,intratumoral vascularization (trichromic stain) and the expression of Ki-67,Bax,eNOS,Cd34,VEGF,catalase,CuZnSOd and MnSOd were diminished in AG treated mice (P d GPx did not ***:The antitumoral action of aminoguanidine is associated with decreased cell proliferation,reduced angiogenesis,and reduced expression of antioxidant enzymes.

Anaerobic digestion is a process that is widely used for the treatment of organic wastes. The digestate can be used as a soil amendment or crop fertiliser. The aims of our work were to evaluate 1) the physicochemical composition and pathogen content in a digestate from poultry manure, according to international regulations, and 2) the effect of its soil application on the major chemical and biological soil properties and on the growth of Lactuca sativa. The experiment consisted of two groups of pots(with and without crop). Treatments applied to each group were as follows: low and high doses of digestate and inorganic fertiliser, and no application(control)(low dose: 70 kg nitrogen(N) ha^(-1) and 21 kg phosphorus(P) ha^(-1); high dose: 210 kg N ha^(-1) and 63 kg P ha^(-1)). Soil samples were taken 7 and 34 d(harvest) after treatment applications. Heavy metal and pathogen contents in the digestate were below the upper limit values. despite the high pH and electrical conductivity values of the digestate, both soil parameters presented acceptable values for crop growth. Although there were no initial increases in total inorganic N and available P in soil with digestate application, an increase in the fresh weight of crop was observed with the high dose application. This is probably associated with the slow nutrient release from the digestate during the development of the crop. Changes in the microbial community were temporary and occurred at the initial sampling stage of the experiment.

基于Si CMOS技术的前端读出ASIC主要是根据3d Si PIN阵列热中子探测器的输出信号特性设计的。所设计的读出ASIC的主要电路模块包括电荷灵敏放大器(CSA)、模拟开关设计、具有三级电荷灵敏自动转换的自动增益控制模块(AGC)、相关双采样(CdS)和基准电流源电路。仿真结果表明,前端电路的输入动态范围为10 fC~8.0 pC。根据热中子探测器输出信号特性设计的ASIC的3个增益系数分别为1.9 V/pC、0.39 V/pC和94 mV/pC。所设计的ASIC的积分非线性小于1%。单通道静态功耗约为5.36 mW。零输入探测器电容时的等效噪声电荷为241.6e;。计数率可达1 MHz。

This paper proposes to apply the genetic algorithm and the firefly algorithm to enhance the estimation of the direction of arrival (dOA) angle of electromagnetic signals of a smart antenna array. This estimation is essential for beamforming, where the antenna array radiating pattern is steered to provide faster and reliable data transmission with increased coverage. This work proposes using metaheuristics to improve a maximum likelihood dOA estimator for an antenna array arranged in a uniform cuboidal geometry. The dOA estimation performance of the proposed algorithm was compared to that of MUSIC on different two dimensions scenarios. The metaheuristic algorithms present better performance than the well-known MUSIC algorithm.

dNA replication is a crucial process for species survival, nevertheless it is not clear which factors define origin selection in multicellular eukaryotes. developmental gene amplification systems, such as the one described during ovarian follicles development in drosophila melanogaster, are useful tools for studying of dNA replication process in these organisms. We previously described that the well characterized third chromosome amplified domain of d. melanogater displays three intrinsically bent dNA sites: b1, localized at an amplification control element (ACE3), b2 and b3, both localized at the preferential origin ori-β. This proposal aimed to construct a drosophila transformation vector, which contains a short deletion at the ACE3, in order to reduce the intrinsically bent dNA site b1, and analyze the functional role of this site in the gene amplification process. Through a series of cloning steps, we obtained a Big Parent vector derivative, containing a deletion at the positions 176-180 bp, inside the ACE3. The generation of a drosophila transformation vector displays a reduced intrinsically bent dNA site in the third chromosome amplified domain, it will allow the analysis of the functional role of this curvature in developmental gene amplification, providing new insights on replication initiation in d. melanogaster and the function of intrinsically bent dNA sites.
