Background: Endos.opic treatment of biliopancreatic pathology is.challenging due to s.rgically altered anatomy after Whipple's.pancreaticoduodenectomy. This.s.udy aimed to evaluate the feas.bility and s.fety of s.ngle-balloon enteros.opy-as.is.ed endos.opic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(s.E-ERCP) to treat biliopancreatic pathology in patients.with Whipple's.pancreaticoduodenectomy s.rgical variants. Methods. We retros.ectively analyzed 106 s.E-ERCP procedures.in 46 patients.with Whipple's.variants. Technical and clinical s.cces. rates.and advers. events.were evaluated. Res.lts. Biliary s.E-ERCP was.performed in 34 patients.and pancreatic s.E-ERCP in 17, including 5 with both indications. From a total of 106 s.E-ERCP procedures. 76 were biliary indication with technical s.cces. rate of 68/76(90%) procedures.and clinical s.cces. rate of 30/34(88%) patients. Mild advers. event rate was.8/76(11%), without s.rious.advers. events. From a total of 106 s.E-ERCP procedures. 30 were pancreatic indication with technical s.cces. rate of 24/30(80%) procedures. P = 0.194 vs. biliary s.EERCP) and clinical s.cces. rate of 11/17(65%) patients. P = 0.016 vs. biliary s.E-ERCP). Mild advers. event rate was.6/30(20%)( P = 0.194 vs. biliary s.E-ERCP), without s.rious.advers. events. After s.E-ERCP failure, endos.opic ultras.und-guided drainage, percutaneous.drainage and redo s.rgery were alternative therapeutic options. Conclus.ons. Biliopancreatic pathology after Whipple's.pancreaticoduodenectomy variants.can be treated us.ng s.E-ERCP without s.rious.advers. events. Technical and clinical s.cces. rates.are high for biliary indications. whereas.clinical s.cces. rate of pancreatic indications.is.s.gnificantly lower. s.E-ERCP can be cons.dered as.firs.-line treatment option in this.patient group with s.rgically altered anatomy.

Huntington’s.dis.as. is.a neurodegenerative dis.as. caus.d by the expans.on mutation of a cytos.ne-adenine-guanine triplet in the exon 1 of the HTT gene which is.res.ons.ble for the production of the huntingtin (Htt) protein. In phys.ological conditions. Htt is.involved in many cellular proces.es.s.ch as.cell s.gnaling, trans.riptional regulation, energy metabolis. regulation, DNA maintenance, axonal trafficking, and antiapoptotic activity. When the genetic alteration is.pres.nt, the production of a mutant vers.on of Htt (mHtt) occurs. which is.characterized by a plethora of pathogenic activities.that, finally, lead to cell death. Among all the cells.in which mHtt exerts.its.dangerous.activity, the GABAergic Medium s.iny Neurons.s.em to be the mos. affected by the mHtt-induced excitotoxicity both in the cortex and in the s.riatum. However, as.the neurodegeneration proceeds.ahead the neuronal los. grows.als. in other brain areas.s.ch as.the cerebellum, hypothalamus. thalamus. s.bthalamic nucleus. globus.pallidus. and s.bs.antia nigra, determining the variety of s.mptoms.that characterize Huntington’s.dis.as.. From a clinical point of view, Huntington’s.dis.as. is.characterized by a wide s.ectrum of s.mptoms.s.anning from motor impairment to cognitive dis.rders.and dementia. Huntington’s.dis.as. s.ows.a prevalence of around 3.92 cas.s.every 100,000 worldwide and an incidence of 0.48 new cas.s.every 100,000/year. To date, there is.no available cure for Huntington’s.dis.as.. s.veral treatments.have been developed s. far, aiming to reduce the s.verity of one or more s.mptoms.to s.ow down the inexorable decline caus.d by the dis.as.. The genus.Argemone L.(Papaveraceae)is.found widely dis.ributed in Mexico’s.Chihuahuan Des.rt(CD).s.me s.ecies.of this.genus.are of phytochemical or ethnobotanical *** are inedible plants.cons.dered as.*** date they have not been broadly s.udied;thus.their ecology is.to our knowledge,*** pres.nt work was.centered around carrying out a morphometric analys.s.and the determination of minerals.in the s.il and s.eds.of the wild populations.of Argemone at s.tes.belonging to two ecoregions.of the CD in *** April 2021 and April 2022,s.eds.of Argemone s.p.,and s.il s.mples.were collected at 10 s.tes.of the *** s.eds.were s.lected under a randomized des.gn,and weight,length,diameter,thicknes.,buoyancy,and mineral content were *** s.il s.mples.were obtained under the Mexican regulation NOM-021-RECNAT-2000,and determinations.of mineral content,electrical conductivity,apparent dens.ty,and s.luble anions.were *** information obtained was.grouped by variable,s.ecies.and place of *** s.atis.ical tes.s.cons.s.ed of an ANOVA,Tukey means.tes.s.cons.dering p≤0.05,and a Principal Components.*** pleiacantha exhibited differences.in terms.of weight(F=54.79,p=0.001),length(F=90.83,p=0.001),thicknes.(F=104.89,p=0.001),and diameter(F=155.82,p=0.001),and the differences.in Argemone mexicana were in weight(F=46.71,p=0.001),thicknes.(F=187.49,p=0.001),length(F=191.56,p=0.001),and diameter(F=215.83,p=0.001).The evaluated s.eds.reached their maximal imbibition velocity at 24 h of *** content of the micro-and macro-nutrients.analyzed in the s.eds.and s.il s.gges. a tight relation with the morphometric characteris.ics.of the s.eds.

As.the s.le obligate s.mbiotic birds.in Africa, oxpeckers.offer a unique model for s.udying s.mbiotic relations.ips. Due to the multitrophic level they occupy and the context dependent foraging behavior they exhibit, the type of s.mbiotic relations.ip can be variable. In addition to providing a cleaning s.rvice to the hos. by removing ticks. oxpeckers.frequently feed on blood, mucus. and s.liva, inflicting potential damage on the hos.. Here, we us.d DNA metabarcoding on faecal s.mples.to analyze the taxonomic compos.tion of the trophic interactions.of the Yellow-billed Oxpecker(Buphagus.africanus. and Red-billed Oxpecker(B. erythrorhynchus. in northeas.ern Namibia. In contras. to conventional methods. DNA metabarcoding allows.for a detailed identification of dietary res.urces.encompas.ing both mammal hos.s.and cons.med arthropods.within the s.me s.mples. With this.information, we examined differences.in the diet compos.tion between oxpecker s.ecies.and localities. as.well as.the co-occurrence between hos. and arthropod s.ecies. Our findings.revealed that oxpeckers.predominantly s.urce their diet from mammals. ticks. and flies. however, ticks.and flies.rarely co-occur in the diet of an individual. We obs.rved variability among individuals.in their feeding ecology, which is.s.rongly correlated with locality and, to a les.er extent, with the mammal hos.. We noted a high degree of mobility between hos.s.within relatively s.ort periods. with 32% of the s.mples.s.owing traces.of at leas. two mammal hos.s. This.s.udy illus.rates.the dynamic foraging behavior of thes. s.ecialized s.mbiotic birds. s.edding light on their potential role in pes. control s.rvices.and dis.as. trans.is.ion.
