The dynamic behaviour of granular flows is important in geo-mechanics and industrial applications,yet poorly *** studied the effects of liquid viscosity and particle size on the dynamics of wet granular material flowing in a slowly rotating drum,in order to detect the transition from the avalanching to the continuous flow regime.A discrete element method(DEM)model,in which contact forces and cohesive forces were considered,was employed to simulate this flow *** model was validated experimentally,using glass beads in a wooden drum and water–glycerol mixtures to tune the liquid *** DEM simulations showed comparable results to the experiments in terms of average slope angle and avalanche *** observed that the avalanche amplitude,flow layer velocity and granular temperature decrease as the liquid viscosity *** effect is more pronounced for smaller sized *** increase in viscous forces causes the flowing particles to behave as a bulk,pushing the free surface towards a convex *** addition,avalanches become less pronounced and the granular flow transitions from the avalanching regime to the continuous *** avalanching flow regime is marked by intermittent rigid body movement of the particulate bed and near-zero drops in the granular temperature,while no rigid body movement of the bed occurs in the continuous flow *** identified the avalanching-continuous flow transition region as a function of a dimensionless granular Galileo number.

Wastewater treatment center（WTC） workers may be vulnerable to diseases caused by viruses, such as the common cold, influenza and gastro-intestinal infections. Although there is a substantial body of literature characterizing the microbial community found in wastewater, only a few studies have characterized the viral component of WTC aerosols,despite the fact that most diseases affecting WTC workers are of viral origin and that some of these viruses are transmitted through the air. In this study, we evaluated in four WTCs the presence of 11 viral pathogens of particular concern in this milieu and used a metagenomic approach to characterize the total viral community in the air of one of those WTCs. The presence of viruses in aerosols in different locations of individual WTCs was evaluated and the results obtained with four commonly used air samplers were *** detected four of the eleven viruses tested, including human adenovirus（h Ad V）,rotavirus, hepatitis A virus（HAV） and Herpes Simplex virus type 1（HSV1）. The results of the metagenomic assay uncovered very few viral RNA sequences in WTC aerosols, however sequences from human DNA viruses were in much greater relative abundance.

The aim of this ex vivo study was to evaluate the infiltration capability and rate of microleakage of a low-viscous resin infiltrant combined with a flowable composite resin(RI/CR) when used with deproteinised and etched occlusal subsurface lesions(International Caries Detection and Assessment System code 2). This combined treatment procedure was compared with the exclusive use of flowable composite resin(CR) for fissure sealing. Twenty premolars and 20 molars revealing non-cavitated occlusal carious lesions were randomly divided into two groups and were meticulously cleaned and deproteinised using Na OCl(2%). After etching with HCl(15%), 10 premolar and 10 molar lesions were infiltrated(Icon/DMG; rhodamine B isothiocyanate(RITC)-labelled) followed by fissure sealing(G-?nial Flo/GC; experimental group, RI/CR). In the control group(CR), the carious fissures were only sealed. Specimens were cut perpendicular to the occlusal surface and through the area of the highest demineralisation(DIAGNOdent pen, Ka Vo). Using confocal laser-scanning microscopy, the specimens were assessed with regard to the percentage of caries infiltration, marginal adaption and internal integrity. Within the CR group, the carious lesions were not infiltrated. Both premolar(57.9% ± 23.1%) and molar lesions(35.3% ± 22.1%) of the RI/CR group were uniformly infiltrated to a substantial extent, albeit with significant differences(p = 0.034). Moreover, microleakage(n = 1) and the occurrence of voids(n = 2) were reduced in the RI/CR group compared with the CR group(5 and 17 specimens,respectively). The RI/CR approach increases the initial quality of fissure sealing and is recommended for the clinical control of occlusal caries.

portal hypertensive biliopathy (pHB) is characterized by anatomical and functional abnormalities of the intrahepatic, extrahepatic and pancreatic ducts, in patients with portal hypertension associated to extrahepatic portal vein obstruction and less frequently to cirrhosis. These morphological changes, consisting in dilatation and stenosis of the biliary tree, are due to extensive venous collaterals occurring in an attempt to decompress the portal venous blockage. It is usually asymptomatic until it progresses to more advanced stages with cholestasis, jaundice, biliary sludge, gallstones, cholangitis and finally biliary cirrhosis. Imaging mo-dalities of the biliary tree such as Doppler ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography are essential to establish the diagnosis and the need of therapeutical interventions. Once the diagnosis is established, treatment with ursodesoxycholic acid seems to be beneficial. Decompression of the biliary tree to dilate, remove stones or implant biliary prosthesis by endoscopic or surgical procedures (hepato-yeyunostomy) usually resolves the cholestatic picture and prevents septic complications. The ideal treatment is the decompression of the portal system, with transjugular intrahepatic porto-systemic shunt or a surgical porto-systemic shunt. Unfortunately, few patients will be candidates for these procedures due to the extension of the thrombotic process. The purpose of this paper is to report the first 3 cases of pHB seen in a Colombian center and to review the literature.

为了探讨放牧家畜影响野生大熊猫及其栖息地、主食竹资源的内在驱动因素,以便为大熊猫国家公园建设和管理提供依据。根据大熊猫国家公园卧龙片区野生大熊猫与放牧家畜的随机样地调查资料,从植物群落结构和物种组成方面,分析了它们利用生境的异同。结果表明:从植物群落特征来看,乔木层物种丰度、灌木层盖度、主食竹的种群特征(盖度、密度、地径和株高)等指标,野生大熊猫与放牧家畜之间具有显著性或极显著性差异,野生大熊猫利用生境的乔木层物种丰度17.38株,灌木层盖度75.31%,主食竹的盖度为56.32%、种群密度48.87 culms·m^(−2)、地径6.03 mm和株高143.48 cm,放牧家畜利用生境的乔木层物种丰度29株,灌木层盖度93.20%,主食竹的盖度为89.20%、种群密度66.54 culms·m^(−2)、地径3.82 mm和株高59.68 cm,而其余指标没有明显的统计学意义。就木本植物的物种组成特征而言,大熊猫利用生境的乔木层和灌木层的科属种数量都多于放牧家畜生境,前者为乔木层17科25属41种、灌木层29科49属91种,后者乔木层9科10属14种、灌木层17科26属38种;两者利用生境的植物群落相似性系数较低,乔木层仅为0.196、灌木层为0.245;但比较两者植物群落共有种的重要值指数,仅灌木层的3种树种两者之间的差异较为显著,其他木本植物都无明显的差异。从而说明放牧家畜主要影响大熊猫栖息地的灌木层结构和主食竹种的种群特征,致使野生大熊猫主动回避被放牧家畜干扰的区域、调整其活动空间和栖息地的范围。因此,合理规划家畜放养区域、严格控制家畜种类和数量是大熊猫国家公园和其他保护区管控放牧干扰的有效措施。

Increasing atmospheric CO2 is both leading to climate change and providing a potential fertilisation effect on plant ***,southern Australia has also experienced a significant decline in rainfall over the last 30 years,resulting in increased vegetative water *** better understand the dynamics and responses of Australian forest ecosystems to drought and elevated CO2,the magnitude and trend in water use efficiency(WUE)of forests,and their response to drought and elevated CO2 from 1982 to 2014 were analysed,using the best available model estimates constrained by observed fluxes from simulations with fixed and time-varying *** ratio of gross primary productivity(Gpp)to evapotranspiration(ET)(WUEe)was used to identify the ecosystem scale WUE,while the ratio of Gpp to transpiration(Tr)(WUEc)was used as a measure of canopy scale *** increased significantly in northern Australia(pponses of WUEe and WUEc to climate change for different geographical areas result from the different proportion of Tr in ***2 fertilization and a wetter climate enhanced WUE in northern Australia,whereas drought offset the CO2 fertilization effect in southern Australia.

Despite the widespread domestic use of pyrethroid insecticides, very few cases of poisoning are reported in the literature, especially in children. The manifestations are generally benign, and the management is controversial. We report a case of severe intoxication in a 2-month-old infant, initially treated as bronchiolitis, which progressed favorably under atropine. This case illustrates on the one hand the importance of looking for the notion of a spray in the sudden onset of respiratory distress in the infant, and on the other hand monitoring any intoxication with pyrethroids in a small infant in order to consider a treatment with atropine sulfate in case of the occurrence of a muscarinic syndrome.
