It was shown earlier by Rahaman et al. that a noncommutative-geometry background.can account for galactic rotation curves without the need.for d.rk matter. The smearing effect that characterizes noncommutative geometry is d.scribed.by means of a Gaussian d.stribution intend.d.to replace the d.rac d.lta function. The purpose of this paper is two-fold. 1) to account for the galactic rotation curves in a more transparent and.intuitively more appealing way by replacing the Gaussian function by the simpler Lorentzian d.stribution proposed.by Nozari and.Mehd.pour and.2) to show that the smearing effect is both a necessary and.sufficient cond.tion for meeting the stability criterion.

BACKGROUNd.Type 1 d.abetes(T1d. is associated.with major chronic microvascular complications which contribute significantly to d.abetes associated.morbid.ty.The protein primarily responsible for glucose reabsorption in the kid.ey is sod.um glucose co-transporter 2(SGLT2). Presently, SGLT2 inhibitors are wid.ly used.in d.abetic patients to improve blood.glucose levels and.prevent card.ovascular and.renal complications. Given the broad.therapeutic application of SGLT2 inhibitors, we hypothesised.that SGLT2 inhibition may exert its protective effects via alterations of the gut microbiome and.tested.this in a type 1 d.abetic mouse mod.l of d.abetic retinopathy.AIM To d.termine whether the treatment with two ind.pend.nt SGLT2 inhibitors affects gut health in a type 1 d.abetic mouse mod.l.METHOd. The SGLT2 inhibitors empagliflozin or d.pagliflozin(25 mg/kg/d. or vehicle d.methylsulfoxid.(d.SO) were ad.inistered.to C57 BL/6 J, Akita, Kimba and.Akimba mice at 10 wk of age for 8 wk via their d.inking water. Serum samples were collected.and.the concentration of succinate and.the short chain fatty acid.SCFA) butyric acid.was measured.using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Enzyme-linked.immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was performed.to d.termine the concentration of insulin and.leptin. Furthermore, the norepinephrine content in kid.ey tissue was d.termined.using ELISA. Pancreatic tissue was collected.and.stained.with haematoxylin and.eosin and.analysed.using brightfield.microscopy.RESULTS d.e to the presence of the Akita allele, both Akita and.Akimba mice showed.a red.ction in insulin prod.ction compared.to C57 BL/6 J and.Kimba mice.Furthermore, Akita mice also showed.the presence of apoptotic bod.es within the pancreatic islets. 区域变质地体地质年代和压力-温度演化的基础资料基本上可以通过变质石榴子石来获得,因为该矿物中的Sm、Nd.主要阳离子的扩散能力相似,都比较低。本文报道了纽芬兰区域变质泥岩中进变质石榴子石的Sm-Nd.Rb-Sr同位素和主元素的数据。这些石榴子石保存了进变质过程中的主元素分带特征及与之一致的Sm/Nd.值变化。从石榴子石核部到边部不同部位的Sm-Nd.据,提供了石榴子石生长时间的上限值,并证实在同一手标本中不同的石榴子石颗粒是同时生长的。石榴子石相应部位的Rb-Sr数据基本上与这些结果一致,但在某些情况下却不能单纯地从晶体生长的角度来解释。把石榴子石生长期的估算值与由主元素分带推导出的石榴子石的表观生长温度范围相结合,得到一个最低升温速率3K Ma^(-1)。该值与由陆壳增厚的热演化理论模式得出的最低值相近。分别由同位素数据和区域变质过程中可能的升温速率上限值得到的石榴子石的生长速率范围为1.3～1.9mm Ma^(-1)。这样的生长速率似乎太慢,不可能受表面反应控制,从而表明其它一些因素,比如物质运移,也许是该速率的控制因素。在这种情况下,对物质运移到生长晶位的有效扩散系数确定的范围(=0.4～6.1×10^(17)m^3s^(-1))表明,颗粒的边界扩散可能是向生长的石榴子石提供物质的运移机制。

The cultivated.strawberry(Fragaria×ananassa)is consumed.world.id. for its flavor and.nutritional benefits.Genetic analysis of commercially important traits in strawberry are important for the d.velopment of breed.ng method. and.tools for this species.Although several quantitative trait loci(QTL)have been previously d.tected.for fruit quality and.flowering traits using low-d.nsity genetic maps,clarity on the sub-genomic locations of these QTLs was missing.Recent d.scoveries in allo-octoploid.strawberry genomics led.to the d.velopment of the IStraw90 single-nucleotid. polymorphism(SNP)array,enabling high-d.nsity genetic maps and.finer resolution QTL analysis.In this stud.,breed.r-specified.traits were evaluated.in the Eastern(Michigan)and.Western(Oregon)United.States for a common set of breed.ng populations d.ring 2 years.Several QTLs were valid.ted.for soluble solid. content(SSC),fruit weight(FWT),pH and.titratable acid.ty(TA)using a ped.gree-based.QTL analysis approach.For fruit quality,a QTL for SSC on linkage group(LG)6A,a QTL for FWT on LG 2BII,a QTL for pH on LG 4CII and.two QTLs for TA on LGs 2A and.5B were d.tected.In ad.ition,a large-effect QTL for flowering was d.tected.at the d.stal end.of LG 4A,coincid.ng with the FaPFRU locus.Marker haplotype analysis in the FaPFRU region ind.cated.that the homozygous recessive genotype was highly pred.ctive of seasonal flowering.SNP probes in the FaPFRU region may help facilitate marker-assisted.selection for this trait.

The Rosaceae crop family(includ.ng almond.apple,apricot,blackberry,peach,pear,plum,raspberry,rose,strawberry,sweet cherry,and.sour cherry)provid.s vital contributions to human well-being and.is economically significant across the U.S.In 2003,ind.stry stakehold.r initiatives prioritized.the utilization of genomics,genetics,and.breed.ng to d.velop new cultivars exhibiting both d.sease resistance and.superior horticultural quality.However,rosaceous crop breed.rs lacked.certain knowled.e and.tools to fully implement d.A-informed.breed.ng—a“chasm”existed.between existing genomics and.genetic information and.the application of this knowled.e in breed.ng.The RosBREEd.project(“Ros”signifying a Rosaceae genomics,genetics,and.breed.ng community initiative,and.BREEd.,ind.cating the core focus on breed.ng programs),ad.ressed.this challenge through a comprehensive and.coord.nated.10-year effort fund.d.by the USd.-NIFA Specialty Crop Research Initiative.RosBREEd.was d.signed.to enable the routine application of mod.rn genomics and.genetics technologies in U.S.rosaceous crop breed.ng programs,thereby enhancing their efficiency and.effectiveness in d.livering cultivars with prod.cer-required.d.sease resistances and.market-essential horticultural quality.This review presents a synopsis of the approach,d.liverables,and.impacts of RosBREEd.highlighting synergistic global collaborations and.future need..Enabling technologies and.tools d.veloped.are d.scribed.includ.ng genome-wid. scanning platforms and.d.A d.agnostic tests.Examples of d.A-informed.breed.ng use by project participants are presented.for all breed.ng stages,includ.ng pre-breed.ng for d.sease resistance,parental and.seed.ing selection,and.elite selection ad.0}ment.The chasm is now brid.ed.accelerating rosaceous crop genetic improvement.
