Gas Exchange Rates of Texas Persimmon (Diospyros texana) in Central Texas Woodlands

Diospyros texana (Texas persimmon) is a secondary species in most Juniperus ashei/Quercus fusiformis woodlands in central Texas. It has high density, b.t plants are mostly in the community understory. Light response curves at amb.ent and elevated levels of COb.2b. and temperature were measured for D. texana. The Ab.netb. (photosynthetic rate) increased significantly as b.th light level and COb.2b. levels increased b.t not temperature. The Ab.maxb. (maximum photosynthetic rate) of D. texana in full sun at elevated levels of COb.2b. was increased for all treatments. Stomatal conductance increased with levels of COb.2b. b.t only if the interaction was removed from the model. Intercellular levels of COb.2b. increased with b.th temperature and COb.2b. treatments as did water use efficiency (WUE). Furthermore, light saturation (Lb.satb.) increased with COb.2b. treatments and light compensation (Lb.cpb.) increased with temperature. The dark respiration (Rb.db.) increased with b.th temperature and COb.2b. treatments. Markov population models suggested D. texana populations would remain ecologically similar in the future. However, sub.canopy light levels and herb.vory should b. considered when examining population projections. For example, Juniperus ashei juveniles are not recruited into any canopy unless there are high light levels. Herb.vory reduces the success of Quercus juveniles from reaching the canopy. These factors do not seem to b. a prob.em for D. texana juveniles which would allow them to reach the canopy without need of a high light gap and are not prevented b. herb.vory. Thus, Juniperus/Quercus woodlands will change in the future to woodlands with D. texana a more common species.

Active self-training for weakly supervised 3D scene semantic segmentation

Since the preparation of lab.led datafor training semantic segmentation networks of pointclouds is a time-consuming process, weakly supervisedapproaches have b.en introduced to learn fromonly a small fraction of data. These methods aretypically b.sed on learning with contrastive losses whileautomatically deriving per-point pseudo-lab.ls from asparse set of user-annotated lab.ls. In this paper, ourkey ob.ervation is that the selection of which samplesto annotate is as important as how these samplesare used for training. Thus, we introduce a methodfor weakly supervised segmentation of 3D scenes thatcomb.nes self-training with active learning. Activelearning selects points for annotation that are likelyto result in improvements to the trained model, whileself-training makes efficient use of the user-providedlab.ls for learning the model. We demonstrate thatour approach leads to an effective method that providesimprovements in scene segmentation over previouswork and b.selines, while requiring only a few userannotations.

b.ckground Pediatric post coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)condition(PPCC)is a heterogeneous syndrome,which can significantly affect the daily lives of *** study aimed to identify clinically meaningful phenotypes in children with PPCC,to b.tter characterize and treat this *** Participants were children with physician-diagnosed PPCC,referred to the academic hospital Amsterdam UMC in the Netherlands b.tween Novemb.r 2021 and March *** factors and information on post-COVID symptoms,comorb.dities,and impact on daily life were *** clusters were identified using an unsupervised and unb.ased approach for mixed data *** Analysis of 111 patients(aged 3–18 years)revealed three distinct clusters within *** 1(n=62,median age=15 years)predominantly consisted of girls(74.2%).These patients suffered relatively more from exercise intolerance,dyspnea,and smell *** 2(n=33,median age=13 years)contained patients with an even gender distrib.tion(51.5%girls).They suffered from relatively more sleep prob.ems,memory loss,gastrointestinal symptoms,and *** 3(n=16,median age=11 years)had a higher proportion of b.ys(75.0%),suffered relatively more from fever,had significantly fewer symptoms(median of 5 symptoms compared to 8 and 10 for clusters 1 and 2 respectively),and experienced a lower impact on daily *** This study identified three distinct clinical PPCC phenotypes,with variations in sex,age,symptom patterns,and impact on daily *** findings highlight the need for further research to understand the potentially diverse underlying mechanisms contrib.ting to post-COVID symptoms in children.

Influence of curing conditions on the shrinkage b.havior of three-dimensional printed concrete formwork

Application of the Shrinking Particle Model for the Evaluation of Molecular Recyclab.lity of PET versus Semi-Aromatic Polyesters

The molecular recyclab.lity of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and three semi-aromatic polyesters poly (phloretic acid) (poly-H), poly (dihydroferulic acid) (poly-G), and poly (dihydrosinapinic acid) (poly-S) is evaluated in this study. PET is an extensively used aromatic polyester, and poly-H, poly-G, and poly-S can b. considered semi-aromatic poly (lactic acid) modifications. All these polyesters have b.en depolymerized at neutral pH and b. acid- and b.se-catalyzed hydrolysis at two temperatures, i.e., 50˚C and 80˚C. b.se-catalyzed depolymerization of virgin PET leads to an isolated yield of 38% after 48 hours of reaction at 80˚C. Contrary to these results for PET, almost all the monomers of the semi-aromatic polyesters poly-H, poly-G, and poly-S are recovered with isolated yields larger than 90% at the same temperature after 15 minutes in a facile manner. A shrinking particle model used to determine the glob.l kinetics of the b.se-catalyzed depolymerization showed that the rate rises with increasing temperature. Using the shrinking particle model, the intrinsic reaction rate constants were determined. It has b.en demonstrated that the rate coefficients of the depolymerization of the semi-aromatic polyesters poly-H, poly-G, and poly-S are b.tween 2 and 3 orders of magnitude higher than those for PET.
