Solar radiophysics is a rapidly developing branch of solar physics and plasma astrophysics. Solar radiophysics has the goal of analyzing observations of radio emissions from the Sun and understanding basic physical processes operating in quiet and active regions of the solar corona. In the near future, the commissioning of a new generation of solar radio observational facilities, which include the Chinese Spectral Radio Heliograph（CSRH） and the upgrade of the Siberian Solar Radio Telescope（SSRT）, and the beginning of solar observations with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array（ALMA）, is expected to bring us new breakthrough results of a transformative nature. The Marie-Curie International Research Staff Exchange（MC IRSES） “RadioSun” international network aims to create a solid foundation for the successful exploitation of upcoming solar radio observational facilities, as well as intensive use of the existing observational tools, advanced theoretical modeling of relevant physical processes and observables, and training a new generation of solar radio physicists. The RadioSun network links research teams from China,Czech Republic, Poland, Russia and the uk. This mini-volume presents research papers based on invited reviews and contributed talks at the 1st RadioSun workshop in China. These papers cover a broad range of research topics and include recent observational and theoretical advances in solar radiophysics, MHD seismology of the solar corona, physics of solar flares, generation of radio emission, numerical modeling of MHD and plasma physics processes, charged-particle acceleration and novel instrumentation.

This review offers the first synthesis of the research on mixed-species groupings of arthropods and highlights the behavioral and evolutionary questions raised by such ***-species groups are commonly found in mammals and *** groups are also observed in a large range of arthropod taxa independent of their level of sociality. Several examples are presented to highlight the mechanisms underlying such groupings, particularly the evidence for phylogenetie proximity between members that promotes cross-species *** advantages offered by such aggregates are described and *** advantages can be attributed to the increase in group size and could be identical to those of nonmixed groupings,but competition-cooperation dynamics might also be involved,and such effects may differ between homo-and heterospecific *** discuss three extreme cases of interspecific recognition that are likely involved in mixed-species groups as vectors for cross-species aggregation:tolerance behavior between two social species,one-way mechanism in which one species is attractive to others and two-way mechanism of mutual *** shown in this review,the study of mixed-species groups offers biologists an interesting way to explore the frontiers of cooperation-competition, including the process of sympatric speciation.

Since 2007,the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC)has heavily relied on the comparison between global climate model hindcasts and global surface temperature(ST)estimates for concluding that post-1950s global warming is mostly *** Connolly et al.,we cautioned that this approach to the detection and attribution of climate change was highly dependent on the choice of Total Solar Irradiance(TSI)and ST data *** compiled 16 TSI and five ST data sets and found by altering the choice of TSI or ST,one could(prematurely)conclude anything from the warming being“mostly human-caused”to“mostly natural.”Richardson and Benestad suggested our analysis was“erroneous”and“flawed”because we did not use a multilinear *** argued that applying a multilinear regression to one of the five ST series re-affirmed the IPCC's attribution *** also objected that many of the published TSI data sets were ***,here we show that when applying multilinear regression analysis to an expanded and updated data set of 27 TSI series,the original conclusions of Connolly et *** confirmed for all five ST data ***,it is still unclear whether the observed warming is mostly human-caused,mostly natural or some combination of both.

Background:Transmission dynamics,vectorial capacity,and co-infections have substantial impacts on vector-borne diseases(vBDs)affecting urban and suburban *** key factors can provide insight into priority research areas and offer suggestions for potential *** body:Through a scoping review,we identify knowledge gaps on transmission dynamics,vectorial capacity,and co-infections regarding vBDs in urban ***-reviewed and grey literature published between 2000 and 2016 was *** screened abstracts and full texts to select *** an extraction grid,we retrieved general data,results,lessons learned and recommendations,future research avenues,and practice *** classified studies by vBD and country/continent and identified relevant knowledge *** 773 articles selected for full-text screening,50 were included in the review:23 based on research in the Americas,15 in Asia,10 in Africa,and one each in Europe and *** largest body of evidence concerning vBD epidemiology in urban areas concerned dengue and *** arboviruses covered included chikungunya and West Nile virus,other parasitic diseases such as leishmaniasis and trypanosomiasis,and bacterial rickettsiosis and *** articles retrieved in our review combined transmission dynamics and vectorial capacity;only two combined transmission dynamics and *** review identified significant knowledge gaps on the role of asymptomatic individuals,the effects of co-infection and other host factors,and the impacts of climatic,environmental,and socioeconomic factors on vBD transmission in urban *** included the trade-off from narrowing the search strategy(missing out on classical modelling studies),a lack of studies on co-infections,most studies being only descriptive,and few offering concrete public health *** research is needed on transmission risk in homes and workplaces,given increasingly dynamic and mobil

In order to evaluate how much Total Solar Irradiance(TSI)has influenced Northern Hemisphere surface air temperature trends,it is important to have reliable estimates of both *** different estimates of the changes in TSI since at least the 19th century were compiled from the *** of these estimates are"low variability"and half are"high variability".Meanwhile,five largely-independent methods for estimating Northern Hemisphere temperature trends were evaluated using:1)only rural weather stations;2)all available stations whether urban or rural(the standard approach);3)only sea surface temperatures;4)tree-ring widths as temperature proxies;5)glacier length records as temperature *** standard estimates which use urban as well as rural stations were somewhat anomalous as they implied a much greater warming in recent decades than the other estimates,suggesting that urbanization bias might still be a problem in current global temperature datasets-despite the conclusions of some earlier ***,all five estimates confirm that it is currently warmer than the late 19th century,i.e.,there has been some"global warming"since the 19th *** each of the five estimates of Northern Hemisphere temperatures,the contribution from direct solar forcing for all sixteen estimates of TSI was evaluated using simple linear least-squares *** role of human activity on recent warming was then calculated by fitting the residuals to the UN IPCC’s recommended"anthropogenic forcings"time *** all five Northern Hemisphere temperature series,different TSI estimates suggest everything from no role for the Sun in recent decades(implying that recent global warming is mostly human-caused)to most of the recent global warming being due to changes in solar activity(that is,that recent global warming is mostly natural).It appears that previous studies(including the most recent IPCC reports)which had prematurely concluded the former,had done so be
