Efficient nonlinear conversion requires that interacting optical waves maintain a consistent phase relationship when traveling in a medium despite its *** phase-matching,which is often used to compensate for the dispersion,is not applicable to optically isotropic nonlinear ***,we present a one-dimensional photonic crystal structure that allows the propagation of optical surface waves,both at the fundamental and third-harmonic frequencies,as an efficient medium for phasematched third-harmonic generation.A unique advantage of this structure is that the effective refractive indices for the surface waves are similar to the refractive index of air at both *** allows phase-matching between the first and third harmonics,and a visible collinear beam of the third harmonic is produced at the prism-coupled ***,these optical surface waves propagate over long distances even if a lossy nonlinear nanofilm is deposited onto the photonic crystal *** provide experimental results for third-harmonic generation at a wavelength of 410 nm for a bare dielectric Ta2O5/SiO2 multilayer structure and for the same structure coated with a 15-nm GaAs film.

progress in the rocket industry is only possible on the basis of new, higher performance and more environmentally friendly materials compared to up-to-date propellant ingredients for liquid, solid, gelled and hybrid propellant systems. In this work, synthetic methods have been developed for the preparation of new energetic azofurazans bearing nitroxymethyl or azidomethyl groups. All prepared compounds were fully characterized by multinuclear NMR and IR spectroscopies, as well as elemental analyses. An analysis of the structural features based on the X-ray single-crystal diffraction made it possible to discuss their influence on the densities of the azofurazans of this study. Thermal decomposition and combustion of nitroxymethyl and azidomethyl azofurazans were studied using a number of complementary experimental techniques, namely thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, manometry, microthermocouple measurements in the combustion wave. The structural and physical characteristics of these new energetic analogues illustrate the extent to which the nature of the explosophoric groups can be used to tune the performace of the azofurazan framework. These azofurazans possess positive calculated enthalpy of formation and are promising candidates for new environmentally friendly energetic materials.

A possible mechanism of earthquake triggering by ionizing radiation of solar flares is considered.A theoretical model and results of numerical calculations of disturbance of electric field,electric current,and heat release in lithosphere associated with variation of ionosphere conductivity caused by absorption of ionizing radiation of solar flares are presented.A generation of geomagnetic field disturbances in a range of seconds/tens of seconds is possible as a result of large-scale perturbation of a conductivity of the bottom part of ionosphere in horizontal direction in the presence of external electric ***-time characteristics of the geomagnetic disturbance depend upon a perturbation of integral conductivity of *** on relation between integral Hall and pedersen conductivities of disturbed ionosphere the oscillating and aperiodic modes of magnetic disturbances may be *** strong perturbations of the ionosphere conductivities amplitude of pulsations may obtain^102 *** this case the amplitude of horizontal component of electric field on the Earth surface obtains 0.01 mV/m,electric current density in lithosphere-10-6 A/m2,and the power density of heat release produced by the generated current is 10-7 W/*** is shown that the absorption of ionizing radiation of solar flares can result in variations of a density of telluric currents in seismogenic faults comparable with a current density generated in the Earth crust by artificial pulsed power systems(geophysical MHD generator"pamir・2"and electric pulsed facility"ERGU・600"),which provide regional earthquake triggering and spatiotemporal variation of seismic ***,triggering of seismic events is possible not only by man-made pulsed power sources but also by the solar *** obtained results may be a physical basis for a novel approach to solve the problem of short・term earthquake prediction based on electromagnetic triggering phenomena.

In this work, comprehensive studies of 2,4-dinitroanisole(2,4DNAN) were carried out using powder thermorentgenography of the internal standard. The time of the complete polymorphic transition in the solid phase β→a in 2,4DNAN under various combinations of conditions has been determined. It has been established that, regardless of the season of manufacture of the substance, when it is stored for 8-9months, with a change in ambient temperature from minus 30℃ to plus 30℃, a complete polymorphic transition β→a occurs. When stored in conditions below minus 5℃, polymorphic transition does not occur. When stored in conditions above plus 30℃ in a closed container, polymorphic transition occurs within 3 weeks. The polymorphic transition is accompanied by a decrease in density by 1.3%-1.5% and an increase in melting temperature by 10-12℃, depending on the degree of purity of the starting substance. The activation energy of the molecular rearrangement was 68-70 k J/mol(16.5 ± 3 kcal/mol). The mechanism of polymorphic transition has been evaluated, which is presumably based on internal homodiffusion and energy transfer to the surface of the mass of powder particles and the product. The average activation energy of the polymorphic transition process was 110 ± 6.2 k J/mol(26.2 kcal/mol). In an open container, reactions proceed by a homogeneous mechanism, and in a closed container by a heterogeneous mechanism involving the gas phase.

Extensions of Merton’s model(EMM)considering the firm’s payments and generating new types of firm value distribution are *** the open log-value/time space,these distributions evolve from initially normal to negatively skewed ones,and their means are concave-down functions of *** payments are set to zero or proportional to the firm value,EMM turns into the Geometric Brownian model(GBM).We show that risk-neutral probabilities(RNps)and the no-arbitraging principle(NAp)follow from *** firm’s payments are considered,RNps and NAp hold for the entire market for short times only,but for long-term investments,RNps and NAp just temporarily hold for individual stocks as far as mean year returns of the firms issuing those stocks remain constant,and fail when the mean year returns *** developed method is applied to firm valuation to derive continuous-time equations for the firm present value and project NpV.
