The simultaneous influence of thermal and mechanical treatment was applied to produce a geometrically complex shaft from 51CrV4 steel leading to the formation of mierostruetures which were significantly different from each other. These mierostrue- rural differences were accompanied by a local change of mechanical properties in terms of hardness, electrical resistivity and especially internal friction. The Snoek-KSster peak was recognized and analyzed in the structure of this steel.

In this paper,we point out some practical obstacles arising in realization of compressional optical coherence elastography(OCE)that have not attracted sufficient attention ***-cally,we discuss(i)complications in quantification of the Young modulus of tissues related to partial adhesion between the OCE probe and soft intervening reference layer sensor,(i)distorting influence of tisue suface curvature/corrugation on the subsurface strain distri-bution mapping,(ii)ways of signal-to-noise mtio(SNR)enhancement in OCE strain mapping when periodic averaging is not realized,and(iv)potentially significant infuence of tissue elastic nonlinearity on quantification of its *** pnactical approaches to mitigate the effects of these complications are also described.

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common cause of cancer-related death in Saudi Arabia. Our study aimed to investigate the patterns of HCC and the effect of TNm staging, Alfa-fetoprotein (AFP), and Child-Turcotte Pugh (CTP) on patients' overall survival (OS).methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 43 HCC patients at a single oncology center in Saudi Arabia from 2015 to 2020. All patients had to fulfill one of the following criteria: (a) a liver lesion reported as definitive HCC on dynamic imaging and/or (b) a biopsy-confirmed diagnosis.Results:The mean patient age of all HCC cases was 66.8 with a male-to-female ratio of 3.3:1. All patients were stratified into two groups: viral HCC (n = 22, 51%) and non-viral HCC (n = 21, 49%). Among viral-HCC patients, 55% were due to HBV and 45% due to HCV. Cirrhosis was diagnosed in 79% of cases. Age and sex did not significantly statistically differ in OS among viral and non-viral HCC patients (-value > 0.05). About 65% of patients had tumor size >5 cm during the diagnosis, with a significant statistical difference in OS (-value = 0.027). AFP was >400 ng/ml in 45% of the patients. There was a statistically significant difference in the OS in terms of AFP levels (-value = 0.021). A statistically significant difference was also observed between the CTP score and OS (-value = 0.02). CTP class B had the longest survival. BSC was the most common treatment provided to HCC patients followed by sorafenib therapy. There was a significant statistical difference in OS among viral and non-viral HCC patients (-value = 0.008).Conclusions:The most common predictors for OS were the underlying cause of HCC, AFP, and tumor size. Being having non-viral etiology, a tumor size >5 cm, an AFP > 400 ng/mL, and a CTP score class C were all negatively associated with OS.

Currently, there are various reels on the market regarding the type of mechanism, which achieves the winding and unwinding of the line. The designers have the purpose of obtaining a linear transmission function, by means of a simple and small-sized mechanism. However, the present solutions are not satisfactory because of large deviations from linearity of the transmission function and complexity of mechanical schema. A novel solution for the reel spool mechanism is proposed. Its kinematic schema and synthesis method are described. The kinematic schema of the chosen mechanism is based on a noncircular gear in series with a scotch-yoke mechanism. The yoke is driven by a stud fixed on the driving noncircular gear. The drawbacks of other models regarding the effects occurring at the ends of the spool are eliminated through achieving an appropriate transmission function of the spool. The linear function approximation with curved end-arches appropriately computed to ensure mathematical continuity is very good. The experimental results on the mechanism model validate the theoretical approach. The developed mechanism solution is recorded under a reel spool mechanism patent.

Temperature sensitivity of respiration of forest soils is important for its responses to climate warming and for the accurate assessment of soil carbon budget. The sensitivity of temperature (T_(i)) to soil respiration rate (R_(s)), and Q_(10) defined by e^(10(lnRs−lna)/Ti) has been used extensively for indicating the sensitivity of soil respiration. The soil respiration under a larch (Larix gmelinii) forest in the northern Daxing’an mountains, Northeast China was observed in situ from April to September, 2019 using the dynamic chamber method. Air temperatures (T_(air)), soil surface temperatures (T_(0cm)), soil temperatures at depths of 5 and 10 cm (T_(5cm) and T_(10cm), respectively), and soil-surface water vapor concentrations were monitored at the same time. The results show a significant monthly variability in soil respiration rate in the growing season (April–September). The Q_(10) at the surface and at depths of 5 and 10 cm was estimated at 5.6, 6.3, and 7.2, respectively. The Q_(10@10 cm) over the period of surface soil thawing (Q_(10@10 cm, thaw) = 36.89) were significantly higher than that of the growing season (Q_(10@10 cm, growth )= 3.82). Furthermore, the Rs in the early stage of near-surface soil thawing and in the middle of the growing season is more sensitive to changes in soil temperatures. Soil temperature is thus the dominant factor for season variations in soil respiration, but rainfall is the main controller for short-term fluctuations in respiration. Thus, the higher sensitivity of soil respiration to temperature (Q_(10)) is found in the middle part of the growing season. The monthly and seasonal Q_(10) values better reflect the responsiveness of soil respiration to changes in hydrometeorology and ground freeze-thaw processes. This study may help assess the stability of the soil carbon pool and strength of carbon fluxes in the larch forested permafrost regions in the northern Daxing’an mountains.

Considering the frequent use of netupitant in polytherapy,the elucidation of its oxidative metabolization pattern is of major ***,there is a lack of published research on the redox behavior of this novel neurokinin-1 receptor ***,this study was performed to simulate the intensive hepatic biotransformation of netupitant using an electrochemically driven *** of the known enzyme-mediated reactions occurring in the liver(i.e.,N-dealkylation,hydroxylation,and Noxidation)were successfully mimicked by the electrolytic cell using a boron-doped diamond working *** products were separated by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography and identified by high-resolution mass *** from its ability to pinpoint formerly unknown metabolites that could be responsible for the known side effects of netupitant or connected with any new perspective concerning future therapeutic indications,this electrochemical process also represents a facile alternative for the synthesis of oxidation products for further in vitro and in vivo studies.
