Soursop(Annona muricata L.)is a tropical fruit highly valued for its uniqueﬂavor,nutritional value,and health-promoting *** ripening process of soursop involves complex changes in gene expression and metabo-lite accumulation,which have been studied using various omics *** analysis has provided insights into the regulation of key genes involved in ripening,while metabolic compound analysis has revealed the presence of numerous bioactive compounds with potential health beneﬁ***,the integration of transcrip-tome and metabolite compound data has not been extensively explored in ***,in this paper,we present a comprehensive analysis of the transcriptome and phenolic compound proﬁles of soursop during *** integration analysis showed that the genes and phenolic compounds were mainly involved in the starch and sucrose metabolism pathways during soursop ***,the phenolic compounds Kaempferol 3-Q-galactoside,Procyanidin C1,Procyanidin trimmer C1,and m-Coumaric,as well as the genes Ubiquitin-like protein 5(UBL5_ARATH),ATP-dependent zinc metalloprotease FTSH8(FTSH8_ORYSJ),Zinc transporter 4(ZIP4_AR-ATH),Thioredoxin-like 3-1(TRL31_ORYSJ),Mitogen-activated protein kinase YOdA(YOdA_ARATH),R-man-delonitrile lyase-like(MGL_ARATH),26s protease regulatory subunit 6A homolog(PRS6_SOLLC),Cytochrome P45072A13(C7A13ARATH),Cytochrome P45084A1(C84A1_ARATH)and Homoserine O-trans-acetylase(MET2-ORYSJ)were correlated and differentially accumulated and expressed,*** study provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying soursop ripening and may contribute to the development of strategies for improving the nutritional quality and shelf life of this important fruit.

Estimation of rainfall thresholds for shallow landslides in the Sierra Madre Oriental, northeastern Mexico

Landslides induced by prolonged rainfalls are frequent mass movements along the northeastern portion of the Sierra Madre Oriental in Mexico,causing significant damage to *** this work,we have studied the connection between rainfall and landslides in the Santa Rosa Canyon,a catchment located in the northeastern Mexico.A landslide database triggered by major storms and hurricanes that have hit the region over the past 30 years was analyzed.A total of 92 rainfall events in the Santa Rosa Canyon were studied to determine the amount of precipitation needed to trigger shallow *** each event the duration(d,in hours)and the cumulated rainfall event(E,in mm)were determined by using historical rainfall data from weather stations located near the study *** have proposed an Ed threshold for rainfall-induced landslides with durations 0.5dddress the conditions that trigger these events in the study *** analyzing the obtained threshold,it has been established that almost 60 mm of a daily rainfall accumulation is required to trigger shallow landslides in the study *** estimation is consistent with other calculations made for areas close to the Santa Rosa ***,we validated the predictive capability of the threshold with a different set of rainfall data that did not result in landslides performing a straightforward receiver operating characteristic analysis.A good approach was obtained,especially for rainfall events with daily *** could be used as input information in the design of a landslide early warning system for the northeastern Mexico,and replicated for other landslide prone areas in the region.

Leuprolide acetate induces structural and functional recovery of injured spinal cord in rats

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone（Gn RH） and its synthetic analog leuprolide acetate, a Gn RH agonist, have neurotrophic properties. This study was designed to determine whether administration of leuprolide acetate can improve locomotor behavior, gait, micturition reflex, spinal cord morphology and the amount of microglia in the lesion epicenter after spinal cord injury in rats. Rats with spinal cord compression injury were administered leuprolide acetate or saline solution for 5 weeks. At the 5th week, leuprolide acetate-treated rats showed locomotor activity recovery by 38%, had improvement in kinematic gait and exhibited voiding reflex recovery by 60%, as compared with the 1st week. By contrast, saline solution-treated rats showed locomotor activity recovery only by 7%, but voiding reflex did not recover. More importantly, leuprolide acetate treatment reduced microglial immunological reaction and induced a trend towards greater area of white and gray matter in the spinal cord. Therefore, leuprolide acetate has great potential to repair spinal cord injury.

This study aimed to characterize the physical-chemical and biological properties of pectin(PC)/chia seed mucilage(CM)***/CM[100/0(control),80/20%,60/40%,and 40/60%w/w]membranes were prepared using the casting *** membranes(PC/CM)were thin,yellow,lightly opaque(≈10%)and capable of blocking light UVB(between 66 at 52%).SEM analysis showed the presence of aggregates in the shape of a sphere(≈13μm)and ovoid(≈25μm).The proportion of 80/20 showed an increase in tensile strength(29%)and elastic modulus(19%)when compared to the *** analysis exhibited intermolecular interactions between PCPC,PC-CM,and CM-CM in the *** thermal analysis(600°C)showed a slight improvement in the percentage of residual mass-loss of 3.31%(80/20)that *** 40/60 membrane showed the lowest percentage of hemolysis(2.94%)but limited human albumin adsorption *** results suggested that the blend PC/CM may be considered as a biomaterial for medical applications.

Microhardness,Microstructure and Electrochemical Efficiency of an Al(Zn/xMg) Alloy after Thermal Treatment

The influence of Mg on the microhardness,microstructure and electrochemical efficiency of Al（Zn/xMg） alloys have been ***（Zn/xMg） alloys were prepared by metal mould casting method to diminish the process cost and to generate an alloy with homogenous microstructure and less casting *** hardness,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were performed to determine the Mg influence on the AlZn *** efficiency was used to relate the influence of Mg with the thermal treatment on the corrosion behavior of the Al（Zn/xMg） *** results reveals the presence of Al 32（MgZn） 49 phase for two events;the first is when the Mg content is above 5.49% in as-cast condition,and the second after the thermal treatment is carried out at 450℃ for 5 *** results also show that the microhardness and electrochemical efficiency have been influenced by the presence of Al 32（MgZn） 49 *** addition of Mg modifies the microstructure,increases the content of Al 32（MgZn） 49 phase and improves the electrochemical efficiency.

Therapeutic effect of Streptococcus thermophilus CRL 1190-fermented milk on chronic gastritis

AIM: To investigate the potential therapeutic effect of exopolysaccharide (EPS)-producing Streptococcus thermophilus (S. thermophilus) CRL 1190 fermented milk on chronic gastritis in Balb/c mice. METHOdS: Balb/c mice were fed with the fermented milk for 7 d after inducing gastritis with acetyl-salicylic acid (ASA, 400 mg/kg body weight per day for 10 d). Omeprazole was included in this study as a positive therapeutic control. The gastric in? ammatory activity was evaluated from gastric histology and in? ammation score, number of interleukin-10 (IL-10), interferon-γ (INFγ) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) cytokine-producing cells in the gastric mucosa, and thickness of the mucus layer. RESULTS: Animals receiving treatment with the EPS-producing S. thermophilus CRL 1190 fermented milk showed a conserved gastric mucosa structure similar to that of healthy animals. In? ammation scores of the fermented milk-treated mice were lower than those of mice in the gastritis group (0.2 ± 0.03 vs 2.0 ± 0.6, P d decrease in INFγ+ (15 ± 1.0 vs 28 ± 1.2, P d TNF-α+ (16 ± 3.0 vs 33 ± 3.0, P d an increase in IL-10+ (28 ± 1.5 vs 14 ± 1.3, P d to the gastritis group, was observed. Also, an increase in the thickness of the mucus gel layer (2.2 ± 0.6 vs 1.0 ± 0.3; 5.1 ± 0.8 vs 1.5 ± 0.4 in the corpus and antrum mucosa, respectively, P d with the gastritis group was noted. A milk suspension of the purif ied EPS from S. thermophilus CRL1190 was also effective as therapy for gastritis.

Effect of a bacterial inoculum and additive on dry matter in situ degradability of sugarcane silage

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding a bacterial inoculum and a handmade additive to sugarcane silage（SCS） on the in situ digestibility of dry matter（dM）. The treatments were： T1） sugarcane silage（SCS） and T2） sugarcane silage with 1% inoculum and 1% additive（SCS＋）. The bacterial inoculum consisted of 10.0% molasses, 1.0% yogurt, 5.0% chicken manure, 0.5% urea, and 83.0% water, and the additive was formulated with 1.0% urea, 0.1% ammonium sulfate, and 0.25% phosphorus. In situ dry matter digestibility（dMd） was determined using the nylon bag technique with four cows equipped with ruminal fistulas. Cows were fed with ensiled sugarcane supplemented with 1 kg of commercial concentrate. 5 g of ground sample for each sugarcane treatment were weighted in nylon bags and incubated for 4, 8, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h in a completely randomized design with six replicates. The dMd（%） was higher（P〈0.05） for SCS＋ for all incubation times when compared with SCS. There were no differences in ruminal p H between the treatments for all the incubation times. The data suggested that the sugarcane silage with bacterial inoculum and additive could be an alternative for providing forage for ruminants during the season of low growth and quality grass.
