The radiant systems consume less energy and provide better thermal comfort as compared to the conventional system,but the main drawback of radiant technology is inability to cater the latent load and *** problem has engaged researchers to push their emphasis on Personalized Conditioning System(PCS).It forms a micro-climate region near the *** study is aimed at PCS combined with a radiant conditioning system,which evaluates the performance of the PCS and compares it with different radiant cooling systems.A radiant cubicle was used to investigate the performance of the PCS for both heating&cooling *** heating mode,the Standard Effective Temperature(SET)was calculated with the help of thermal comfort surveys which were in a range of 23.4℃ to 27.3℃.For cooling mode,four different cases compared the performance of the system which are:Conventional Air Conditioning System(CACS),Radiant Cooled Ceiling System(RCCS),Personalized Radiant Conditioning System(PRCS),and both PRCS-RCCS *** was observed that PRCS alone reaches the thermal comfort criteria with low energy *** energy-saving of RCCS-PRCS was achieved 38%when compared with *** can be concluded that PRCS is a new step in the field of thermal comfort.

The present study focuses on the mitigation of shock wave using novel geometric passages in the flow *** strategy is to produce multiple shock reflections and diffractions in the passage with minimum flow obstruction,which in turn is expected to reduce the shock wave strength at the target *** the present study the interaction of a plane shock front(generated from a shock tube)with various geometric designs such as,1)zig-zag geometric passage,2)staggered cylindrical obstructions and 3)zigzag passage with cylindrical obstructions have been investigated using computational *** is seen from the numerical simulation that,among the various designs,the maximum shock attenuation is produced by the zig-zag passage with cylindrical obstructions which is then followed by zig-zag passage and staggered cylindrical obstructions.A comprehensive investigation on the shock wave reflection and diffraction phenomena happening in the proposed complex passages have also been carried *** the new zig-zag design,the initial shock wave undergoes shock wave reflection and diffraction process which swaps alternatively as the shock front moves from one turn to the other *** cyclic shock reflection and diffraction process helps in diffusing the shock wave energy with practically no obstruction to the flow *** is found that by combining the shock attenuation ability of zig-zag passage(using shock reflection and diffraction)with the shock attenuation ability of cylindrical blocks(by flow obstruction),a drastic attenuation in shock strength can be achieved with moderate level of flow blocking.

BACKGROUND: Anesthetic practices such as early tracheal extubation facilitate postoperative recovery. Early extubation after liver transplantation has been adopted by some centers in the recent two decades. No universal clinical guidelines are used and questions remain. This review aimed to address the current status of early extubation after liver transplantation. DATA SOURCES: A literature search of MEDLINE and ISI Web of Knowledge databases was performed using terms such as liver transplantation, early extubation, immediate tracheal extubation fast tracking or fast track anesthesia and postoperative tracheal extubation. Additional papers were identified by a manual search of the references in the key articles. RESULTS: Review of the available literature provided an insight into the definition, evolution, advantages and risks of early extubation, and anesthetic techniques that prompt early extubation in liver transplant patients. Early extubation has proved to be feasible and safe in these patients, but the outcomes are still uncertain. CONCLUSIONS: Early extubation after liver transplantation is feasible, safe and cost-effective in the majority of patients and has been increasingly accepted as an option for conventional postoperative ventilation. Comprehensive and individualized evaluation of the patient’s condition before extubation by an experienced anesthesiologist is the cornerstone of success Understanding of its effect on the outcome remains incomplete In the future, additional trials are required to establish universal early extubation guidelines and to determine its benefits for patients and practitioners.

In this paper, we propose a multilevel thresholding technique for noise removal in curvelet transform domain which uses cycle-spinning. Most of uncorrelated noise gets removed by thresholding curvelet coefficients at lowest level, while correlated noise gets removed by only a fraction at lower levels, so we used multilevel thresholding on curvelet coefficients. The threshold in the proposed method depends on the variance of curvelet coefficients, the mean and the median of absolute curvelet coefficients at a particular level which makes it adaptive in nature. Results obtained for 2-D images demonstrate an improved performance over other recent related methods available in literature.

The meridional circulation of the Sun, which is observed to be poleward at the surface, should have a return flow at some depth. Since large-scale flows like the differential rotation and the meridional circulation are driven by turbulent stresses in the convection zone, these flows are expected to remain confined within this zone. Current observational(based on helioseismology)and theoretical(based on dynamo theory) evidences point towards an equatorward return flow of the meridional circulation at the bottom of the convection zone. Assuming the mean values of various quantities averaged over turbulence to be axisymmetric,we study the large-scale flows in solar-like stars on the basis of a 2D mean field theory. Turbulent stresses in a rotating star can transport angular momentum, setting up a differential rotation. The meridional circulation arises from a slight imbalance between two terms which try to drive it in opposite directions: a thermal wind term(arising out of the higher efficiency of convective heat transport in the polar regions) and a centrifugal term(arising out of the differential rotation). To make these terms comparable,the poles of the Sun should be slightly hotter than the equator. We discuss the important role played by the meridional circulation in the flux transport dynamo model. The poloidal field generated by the Babcock-Leighton process at the surface is advected poleward, whereas the toroidal field produced at the bottom of the convection zone is advected equatorward. The fluctuations in the meridional circulation(with coherence time of about 30-40 yr) help in explaining many aspects of the irregularities in the solar cycle. Finally, we discuss how the Lorentz force of the dynamo-generated magnetic field can cause periodic variations in the large-scale flows with the solar cycle.

Slip status of drill string is system generated binary value computed by comparison of sensor generated real time hook load value with a minimum threshold value of hook load stored in measurement *** research article describes a novel method of slip status detection by machine vision technology which helps overcome the constraints of slip status detection with legacy measurement *** also helps improve the real time drilling data quality and optimize and automate drilling operations.A method to detect drill string slip status with high-resolution digital camera installed on mast near rig floor is described along with backend vision processing and communication modules,which generate binary values of slip *** binary values are transferred in real time to drilling measurement system of rig to compute other drilling parameters like bit depth,hole depth and stand *** method includes deploying active optical sensors at the rig floor,obtaining 1-D,2-D,or 3D image data,and processing it to obtain the status of drill *** measurement of slip status by machine vision helps reduce non-productive time(NPT)by reliable real time surveillance of drilling operations.

The purpose of the present paper is to study the entropy hs（Ф） of a quantum dynamical systems Ф = （ L, s, Ф）, where s is a bayessian state on an orthomodular lattice L. Having introduced the notion of entropy hs（ Ф, A） of partition A of a Boolean algebra B with respect to a state s and a state preserving homomorphism Ф, we prove a few results on that, define the entropy of a dynamical system hs（Ф）, and show its invariance. The concept of sufficient families is also given and we establish that hs （Ф） comes out to be equal to the supremum of hs （Ф,A）, where A varies over any sufficient family. The present theory has then been extended to the quantum dynamical system （ L, s, Ф）, which as an effect of the theory of commutators and Bell inequalities can equivalently be replaced by the dynamical system （B, s0, Ф）, where B is a Boolean algebra and so is a state on B.

The conventional point-particle approach for treating the dispersed phase in a continuous flowfield is extended by taking into account the effect of finite particle size, using a Gaussian interpolation from Lagrangian points to the Eulerian *** inter-phase exchange terms in the conservation equations are distributed over the volume encompassing the particle size, as opposed to the Dirac delta function generally used in the point-particle *** proposed approach is benchmarked against three different flow configurations in a numerical framework based on large eddy simulation（LES） turbulence ***, the flow over a circular cylinder is simulated for a Reynolds number of 3900 at 1 atm *** show good agreement with experimental data for the mean streamwise velocity and the vortex shedding frequency in the wake *** calculated flowfield exhibits correct physics, which the conventional point-particle approach fails to *** second case deals with diesel jet injection in quiescent environment over a pressure range of 1.1–5.0 *** calculated jet penetration depth closely matches *** decreases with increasing chamber pressure, due to enhanced drag force in a denser fluid ***, water and acetone jet injection normal to air crossflow is studied at1 *** calculated jet penetration and Sauter mean diameter of liquid droplets compare very well with measurements.

Cadmium sulfide(CdS) films were grown on top of the fluorine-doped tin oxide(FTO) coated glass substrates at four different bath temperatures by chemical bath deposition(CBD) technique.X-ray diffraction(XRD),ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis) spectrometry,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX),field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM),photoluminescence(PL)and Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR) analyses were employed to examine the morphological and optical properties of deposited *** studies confirmed the cubic crystalline nature of the deposited films which improved with increase in deposition temperature,and EDX along with FESEM study showed that the films were smooth and uniform with appropriate chemical ***-gap values of the CBD CdS films calculated by UV-Vis spectrometry were found to be in the range of2.32-2.39 eV.A strong blue band and a weak green band were observed in PL emission spectra.C-S,Cd-S and SC-N vibrations were found by FTIR spectral analysis.
