Single or combined effects of dietary arabinoxylan-oligosaccharide and inulin on growth performance,gut microbiota,and immune response in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

The single and synergistic effects of dietary arabinoxylan-oligosaccharide(AXOS)and inulin at different doses(2,4,and 8 mg/g diet)on survival,growth performance,gut microbiota,and immune response in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei were *** application of either inulin or AXOS at doses of 4 mg/g diet showed the most stimulatory effects on the growth rate and gene expression levels of chitinase,cathepsin L,chymotrypsin,and extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)in each single prebiotic feeding *** with single prebiotic treatments,simultaneous application of AXOS and inulin at 4 mg/g diet enhanced remarkably the growth parameters of shrimp and the expression of related genes(chitinase,cathepsin L,chymotrypsin,ERK,myeloid differentiation factor 88,and phenoloxidase)after 8-week feeding(P<0.05).Additionally,gut microbiota analysis indicated the dietary supplementation with combined prebiotics increased significantly the bacterial community richness and relative abundance of Bacillus Pseudomonas Bacteriovorax,and Lactobacillus,and reduced the abundance of Vibrio Rhodococcus,and Photobacterium in the digestive tract of L *** with the single prebiotic treatment and the control,combined prebiotics supplementation boosted notably the survival rate and expression levels of immune-related genes in shrimp infected with Vibrio alginolyticus or white spot syndrome ***,simultaneous application of AXOS and inulin shall have a great potential of dietary supplement in the culture of ***.

Since the first report of diketopyrrolopyrrole(DPP)-based conjugated polymers for organic thin-film transistors(OTFTs),these polymers have attracted great attention as representative semiconductors in high-performance *** unremitting efforts in molecular-structure regulation and device optimization,significant mobilities exceeding 10 cm2·V–1·s–1 have been achieved in OTFTs,greatly promoting the applied development of organic *** this review,we summarize our progress in molecular design,synthesis and solution-processing of DPP-based conjugated polymers for OTFT devices and circuits,focusing on the roles of design strategies,synthesis methods and processing ***,the remaining issues and future outlook in the field are briefly discussed.

Minimising non-selective defects in ultrathin reduced graphene oxide membranes with graphene quantum dots for enhanced water and NaCl separation

Reduced graphene oxide(rGO)membranes have been intensively evaluated for desalination and ionic sieving applications,benefiting from their stable and well-confined interlayer ***,rGO membranes generally suffer from low permeability due to the high transport resistance resulting from the narrowed two-dimensional(2D)*** high permeability can be realized by reducing membrane thickness,membrane selectivity normally declines because of the formation of nonselective defects,in particular *** this study,we demonstrate that the non-selective defects in ultrathin rGO membranes can be effectively minimised by a facile posttreatment via surfacedeposition of graphene quantum dots(GQDs).The resultant GQDs/rGO membranes obtained a good trade-off between water permeance(14 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1).MPa^(-1))and NaCl rejection(91%).This work provides new insights into the design of high quality ultrathin 2D laminar membranes for desalination,molecular/ionic sieving and other separation applications.

Certain amino acids changes in the human Na^(+)/K^(+)-ATPase pump,ATPase Na^(+)/K^(+)transporting subunit alpha 1(ATP1A1),cause Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2(CMT2)disease and refractory *** develop in vivo models to study the role of Na^(+)/K^(+)-ATPase in these diseases,we modified the Drosophila gene homolog,Atpα,to mimic the human ATP1A1 gene mutations that cause *** located within the helical linker region of human ATP1A1(I592T,A597T,P600T,and D601F)were simultaneously introduced into endogenous Drosophila Atpαby CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing,generating the Atpα^(TTTF)*** addition,the same strategy was used to generate the corresponding single point mutations in flies(Atpα^(I571T),Atpα^(A576T),Atpα^(P579T),and Atpα^(D580F)).Moreover,a deletion mutation(Atpα^(mut))that causes premature termination of translation was generated as a positive *** these alleles,we found two that could be maintained as homozygotes(Atpα^(I571T)and Atpα^(P579T)).Three alleles(Atpα^(A576T),Atpα^(P579)and Atpα^(D580F))can form heterozygotes with the Atpαmut *** found that the Atpαallele carrying these CMT2-associated mutations showed differential phenotypes in *** heterozygous for Atpα^(TTTF)mutations have motor performance defects,a reduced lifespan,seizures,and an abnormal neuronal *** Drosophila models will provide a new platform for studying the function and regulation of the sodium-potassium pump.

Assessing the corrosion protection property of coatings loaded with corrosion inhibitors using the real-time atmospheric corrosion monitoring technique

The atmospheric corrosion monitoring(ACM)technique has been widely employed to track the real-time corrosion behavior of metal ***,limited studies have applied ACM to the corrosion protection properties of organic *** study compared a bare epoxy coating with one containing zinc phosphate corrosion inhibitors,both applied on ACM sensors,to observe their corrosion protection properties over *** with artificial damage via scratches were exposed to immersion and alternating dry and wet environments,which allowed for monitoring galvanic corrosion currents in *** the corrosion tests,the ACM currents of the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating were considerably lower than those of the blank epoxy *** trend in ACM current variations closely matched the results obtained from regular electrochemical tests and surface *** alignment highlights the potential of the ACM technique in evaluating the corrosion protection capabilities of organic *** with the blank epoxy coating,the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating showed much-decreased ACM current values that confirmed the effective inhibition of zinc phosphate against steel corrosion beneath the damaged coating.

Simulations on the multi-shell target ignition driven by radiation pulse in Z-pinch dynamic hohlraum

We present the first simulation results of a multi-shell target ignition driven by Z-pinch dynamic hohlraum radiation *** radiation pulse is produced with a special Z-pinch dynamic hohlraum configuration,where the hohlraum is composed of a single metal liner,a low-Z plastic foam,and a high-Z metallic *** implosion dynamics of a hohlraum and a multi-shell target are investigated separately by the one-dimensional code *** the peak drive current is 50 MA,simulations suggest that an x-ray pulse with nearly constant radiation temperature(-310 eV)and a duration about 9 ns can be obtained.A small multi-shell target with a radius of 1.35 mm driven by this radiation pulse is able to achieve volumetric ignition with an energy gain(G)about 6.19,where G is the ratio of the yield to the absorbed *** this research,we better understand the effects of non-uniformities and hydrodynamics instabilities in Z-pinch dynamic hohlraum.

Microwave field sensor based on cold cesium Rydberg three-photon electromagnetically induced spectroscopy

We present the electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)spectra of cold Rydberg four-level cascade atoms consisting of the 6S_(1/2)→6P_(3/2)→7S_(1/2)→60P_(3/2) scheme.A coupling laser drives the Rydberg transition,a dressing laser couples two intermediate levels and a weak probe laser probes the EIT *** numerically solve the Bloch equations and investigate the dependence of the probe transmission rate signal on the coupling and dressing *** find that the probe transmission rate can display an EIT or electromagnetically induced absorption(EIA)profile,depending on the Rabi frequencies of the coupling and dressing *** we increase the Rabi frequency of the coupling laser and keep the Rabi frequency of the probe and dressing laser fixed,flipping of the EIA to EIT spectrum occurs at the critical coupling Rabi *** we apply a microwave field coupling the transition 60P_(3/2)→61S_(1/2),the EIT spectrum shows Autler–Townes splitting,which is employed to measure the microwave *** theoretical measurement sensitivity can be 1.52×10^(−2) nV・cm^(−1)・Hz−^(1/2) at the EIA–EIT flipping point.

Dehydrogenation coupling of methane(DCM),which can be effectively used to produce low carbon alkenes,has the advantages of rich raw materials,simple reaction device,low energy consumption,***,we report a series of Co doped perovskite porous-dense BaCe_(0.9)Y_(0.1)Co_(x)O_(3-δ)(BCYCx)membrane for *** treatment in a reduced atmosphere,a large number of Co nanoparticles will exsolute on the surface of *** metal-oxide interface is helpful to activate the C–H bonds,inhibit the carbon deposition,and so *** XRD,SEM and XPS prove that Co nanoparticles homogeneously distributed on the BCYCx porous layers,which will create a large quantity of catalytic active *** 1100℃,the highest concentration of C_(2)product was 5.66%(5.25%ethane+0.41%ethylene)in output gas when methane conversion reaches a maximum value of 24.8%,and the C_(2)selectivity gets to 45.6%.We further demonstrate the catalytic performance of high-temperature DCM without obvious decrease after running for 30 hours.

Speciation and potential remobilization of heavy metals in sediments of the Taihu Lake, China

The species of Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd and Cr in sediments of the Taihu Lake, China, have been analyzed using the sequential chemical extraction method. Variations in the chemical fractions of these metals and their geographic distributions have also been studied. For all five metals, the residual fraction is highest but the exchangeable fraction is lowest among all the fractions. Compared to other metals, Cd has the highest percentage in the exchangeable fraction, and Cr is associated mainly with the residual fraction. Cu in the organic fraction and Pb in the Fe-Mn fraction are the important species, whereas the lowest percentages are found for Cd in the organic fraction, Cu in the Fe-Mn oxide fraction and Pb in the carbonate fraction. With respect to spatial differences, the total contents in the non-residual fractions of the metals in bay sediments are found to be higher than those in other sediments. The fractions of Cd, Cu and Cr showed significant variations in different regions. The fractions of Pb and Zn, however, did not show significant variations in spatial distribution, suggesting different amounts and different paths of anthropogenic input for the metals. Comparisons of the metal speciation indicated that Cd might be the most bioavailable metal, followed by Pb.

A New Signature Scheme with Shared Verification

With expanding user demands, digital signature techniques are also being expanded greatly, from single signature and single verification techniques to techniques supporting multi-users. This paper presents a new digital signature scheme with shared verification based on the fiat-shamir signature scheme. This scheme is suitable not only for digital signatures of one public key, but also for situations where multiple public keys are required. In addition, the scheme can resist all kinds of collusion, making it more practicable and safer. Additionally it is more efficient than other schemes.
