Subjective visual vertical(SVV)and subjective visual horizontal(SVH)tests can be used to evaluate the perception of verticality and horizontality,respectively,and can aid the diagnosis of otolith dysfunction in clinical *** this study,SVV and SVH screen version tests are implemented using virtual reality(VR)equipment;the proposed test method promotes a more immersive feeling for the subject while using a simple equipment configuration and possessing excellent *** verify the performance of the proposed VR-based SVV and SVH tests,a reliable comparison was made between the traditional screen-based SVV and SVH tests and the proposed method,based on 30 healthy *** average results of our experimental tests on the VR-based binocular SVV and SVH equipment were−0.15◦±1.74 and 0.60◦±1.18,*** proposed VR-based method satisfies the normal tolerance for horizontal or vertical lines,i.e.,a±3◦error,as defined in previous studies,and it can be used to replace existing test methods.

Autoimmune pancreatitis: Functional and morphological recovery after steroid therapy

Autoimmune pancreatitis, a recently recognized type of chronic pancreatitis, is not rare in Japan, but reports of it elsewhere are relatively uncommon. We report the first preoperatively diagnosed case of autoimmune pancreatitis in Hungary, which responded well to steroid treatment and provided radiographic and functional evidence of this improvement. A 62-year-old female presented with a 4-month history of recurrent epigastric pain and a 5-kg weight loss. The oral glucose tolerance test （OGTT） indicated diabetes mellitus and the result of the fecal elastase test was abnormal. Ultrasonography （US） and the CT scan demonstrated a diffusely enlarged pancreas, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography （eRCp） an irregular main pancreatic duct with long strictures in the head and tail. Autoimmune pancreatitis was diagnosed. The patient was started on 32 mg prednisolone daily, After 4 wk, the OGTT and faecal elastase test results had normalized. The repeated US and CT scan revealed a marked improvement of the diffuse pancreatic swelling, while on repeated eRCp, the main pancreatic duct narrowing was seen to be ameliorated. It is important to be aware of this disease and its diagnosis, because AIp can clinically resemble pancreatobiliary malignancies, or chronic or acute pancreatitis, However, in contrast with chronic pancreatitis, its symptoms and morphologic and laboratory alterations are completely reversed by oral steroid therapy.

A clear understanding of the structure of the S precipitates which are present in Al-Li-X alloys is verp imporiant because the S -phase decreases the localization of strainand promotes less anisotropic properties during deformation. The close structural re-lationship between the S-phase and the Al matrix and their possible intedece bound-ary strvcture are described in detail. The proposed model is in good agreement with::::rimental obserwations. The dynamics Of the phase trunWrmation and possiblermation mechani8ms for the S,-phase are alSo proposed.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is the most common type of dementia,but it is very difficult to diagnose with certainty,so many AD studies have attempted to find early and relevant diagnostic *** upon activation,normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTeS,also known as C-C chemokine ligand)is a chemokine involved in the migration of T cells and other lymphoid *** in RANTeS levels and its expression in blood or in cerebrospinal fluid have been reported in some neurodegenerative diseases,such as parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis,but also in metabolic diseases in which inflammation plays a *** aim of this observational study was to assess RANTeS levels in peripheral blood as clinical indicators of *** levels of RANTeS were investigated in 85 AD patients in a relatively early phase of AD(median 8.5 months after diagnosis;39 men and 46 women;average age 75.7 years),and in 78 control subjects(24 men and 54 women;average age 66 years).We found much higher plasma levels of RANTeS in AD patients compared to controls.A negative correlation of RANTeS levels with age,disease duration,Fazekas scale score,and the medial temporal lobe atrophy(MTA)score(Scheltens’s scale)was found in AD patients,i.e.,the higher levels corresponded to earlier stages of the *** RANTeS levels were not correlated with cognitive *** AD patients,RANTeS levels were positively correlated with the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α,which is consistent with the wellknown fact that AD is associated with inflammatory *** levels were also positively correlated with insulin levels in AD patients,with insulin resistance(HOMA-R)and pancreatic beta cell function(HOMA-F).This study evaluated several clinical and metabolic factors that may affect plasma levels of RANTeS,but these factors could not explain the increases in RANTeS levels observed in AD *** levels of RANTeS appear to be an interesting

ecosystem services,defined as benefits provided by ecosystem functioning to society,are essential to human *** to global environmental change and related anthropogenic drivers,ecosystems are often degraded,which hinders the delivery of ecosystem *** study aims to quantify the impacts of land use and climate change on two regulating ecosystem services-carbon sequestration and water purification in terms of nitrogen retention in the Czech *** employing approaches of scenarios and modeling,we illustrate current and potential future status of these ecosystem *** results show that among the ecosystem change drivers,one of the dominant domestic land-use change of ALARM BAMBU(Business-As Might Be Usual)scenario is change of arable land and grassland to forest area that increases by 4.5%in 2080 compared to *** results of ecosystem service modeling based on BAMBU scenario for the years 2050 and 2080 indicate that the highest yearly carbon sequestration rate occurred in 2000-2050,reaching 640 GgC·yr^(−1),2000-2080 shows decline in this regulating service by 16%.Average nitro-gen leaching to water streams reached 0.75 kgN·ha^(−1)·yr^(−1)for BAMBU in 2050 scenario and 0.80 kgN·ha^(−1)·yr^(−1)for BAMBU in 2080 scenario as a result of decreasing nitrogen load,which suggested a decrease in nitrogen pollution compared to *** ecosystem services have not been extensively mainstreamed into research and policies in eastern european countries,we aim to contribute to improvement of knowledge on current status and potential future pathways of the provision of regulating ecosystem services in the Czech Republic.

A detailed theoretical derivation of the cross sections of e^＋e^-→e^＋e^-and e^＋e^-→μ＋μ-around the J/ψ resonance is reported. The resonance and interference parts of the cross sections, related to J/ψ resonance parameters, are calculated. Higher-order corrections for vacuum polarization and initial-state radiation are considered. An arbitrary upper limit of radiative correction integration is involved. Full and simplified versions of analytic formulae are given with precision at the level of 0.1% and 0.2%, respectively. Moreover, the results obtained in the paper can be applied to the case of the ψ（3686） resonance.

With the aim of developing more stable Gd(III)−porphyrin complexes,two types of ligands 1 and 2 with carboxylic acid anchors were *** to the N-substituted pyridyl cation attached to the porphyrin core,these porphyrin ligands were highly water-soluble and formed the corresponding Gd(III)chelates,Gd-1 and ***-1 was sufficiently stable in neutral buffer,presumably due to the preferred conformation of the carboxylateterminated anchors connected to nitrogen in the meta position of the pyridyl group helping to stabilize Gd(III)complexation by the porphyrin center.1H NMRD(nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion)measurements on Gd-1 revealed high longitudinal water proton relaxivity(r1=21.2 mM^(−1)s^(−1)at 60 MHz and 25℃),which originates from slow rotational motion resulting from aggregation in aqueous *** visible light irradiation,Gd-1 showed extensive photoinduced DNA cleavage in line with efficient photoinduced singlet oxygen ***-based assays revealed no significant dark cytotoxicity of Gd-1,while it showed sufficient photocytotoxicity on cancer cell lines under visible light *** results indicate the potential of this Gd(III)−porphyrin complex(Gd-1)as a core for the development of bifunctional systems acting as an efficient photodynamic therapy photosensitizer(pDT-pS)with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)detection capabilities.

In this paper,we report on the crystal structure and magnetic properties of the nano structured Baordered phases of rare-earth manganites obtained from the optimally doped solid solutions Ln0.70Ba0.30MnO3(Ln=pr,Nd).The materials were studied by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectroscopy and SQUID-magnetometry *** is found that states with different degrees of cation ordering in the A-sublattice of the ABO3 perovskite can be obtained by employing special conditions of chemical *** particular,reduction of the parent compounds results in the formation of a nanocomposite containing ferrimagnetic anion-deficient ordered phase *** of the composite does not change an average size of the nanocrystallites,but drastically alters their phase composition to stabilize ferromagnetic stoichiometric ordered phase LnBaMn2O6 and ferromagnetic superstoichiometric disordered phase Ln0.90Ba0.10MnO3+δ.It is shown that the magnetic properties of the materials are determined by the joint action of chemical(cation ordering)and external(surface tension)pressures.
