Prevalence of metabolic syndrome in adults in Khanh Hoa,viet Nam

Background The metabolic syndrome (MS) is characterized by a specific clustering of risk factors, including dyslipidemia, central adiposity, systemic hypertension, insulin resistance, and dysglycemia. It is associated with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). Accurate data on prevalence and characteristics of MS will facilitate the development of preventive strategies for CVD. Objective To estimate accurately the prevalence of MS among vietnamese adults with the usual criteria or with the criteria modified for Asian populations. Design and methods We studied a representative, cross-sectional, population-based sample of 856 subjects (mean age 52.82 ± 16.36) classified in three age groups from 15-34 years, 35-54 years and ＞ 54 years of age, living in Khanh Hoa Province, viet Nam. MS was diagnosed according to the criteria defined by the Third Report of the National Cholesterol Education Program Expect Panel on Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults (Adult Treatment Panel Ⅲ) (NCEP-ATP Ⅲ) and by the modified criteria for some Asian populations in which the waist circumference (WC) is considered abnormal if it is ＞ 90 cm for males and ＞ 80 cm for *** Using the NCEP-ATP Ⅲ criteria, the prevalence of MS in the studied population was 10.0％ (CI 95 ％:8.1-12.3). It was 2.4 ％ in the 15-34 age group (men 4.5％ and women 1.2％),5.2％ (men 6.3％,women 4.5％ ) in 35-54 age group and 15.8％ (men 9.7％, women 21.7％) in over 54 age group, respectively. And it was more common in women than in men (11.7％ vs 8.0％, P ＜0.001). Using 2001 population census data of the whole province over 15 years (695 218 habitants) we estimated that about 35 193 people suffered from the *** WC was the least common feature of MS (2.1％ for men and in 6.1％ for women).Overall,45.2 ％ of the studied population had one feature of MS, 23.1％ had two features, 8.2％ had three features, 1.6％ had four features, and 0.2％ had all five features. Some Results of Quantitative Analysis of Fracture Orientation Distribution along the Segment Tien Yen-Mui Chua of Cao Bang-Tien Yen Fault Zone, Quang Ninh Province, viet Nam

The results of quantitative analysis of fracture orientation distribution according to the pair of stereonet windows among 05 different survey sites along the segment Tien Yen-Mui Chua, belong to Cao Bang-Tien Yen fault zone, Quang Ninh province, viet Nam showed that, the correlation values are over 0.80 corresponding to 50%, over 0.75 corresponding to 30% and over 0.65 corresponding to 20%. These values are quite consistent with over 60% of the fracture number in the direction of NW-SE. Especially, the compatibility is clearly reflected in the determination of the frequency of fracture measurements within the division intervals of 20 degrees for dip direction and 10 degrees for dip angle at 05 different survey sites.

Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Plectranthus Amboinicus Leaf Extract for Preparation of CMC/PVA Nanocomposite Film

In the present study,the biogenic silver nanoparticles have been synthesized using aqueous leaf extract of Plectranthus amboinicus(PA),which acted as both reducing and stabilizing *** PA synthesized silver nanoparticles were blended with carboxymethyl cellulose/polyvinyl alcohol(CMC/PVA)*** prepared AgNPs as well as the biogenic AgNPs incorporated CMC/PVA films were investigated using UV-visible spectrophotometry,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),dynamic light scattering(DLS),scanning electron microscope(SEM),and X–ray diffraction(XRD).The DLS results showed that biogenic AgNPs had the average particle size of 65.70 nm with polydispersity index of *** surface plasmon resonance of AgNPs,which was determined by UV-vis spectrophotometry,showed the value of 410.00 *** results therefore confirmed the reduction Ag+into Ag°and the formation of AgNPs in the *** SEM imaging showed that AgNPs was quasi-spherical and *** XRD peaks at 33.07°,44.19°,64.58°and 77.47°confirmed the crystalline nature and presence of *** CMC/PVA films that incorporated with AgNPs displayed best mechanical strength and morphological properties than the pure CMC/PVA *** film of CMC/PVA-AgNPs exhibited significant antibacterial activities against Bacillus spizizenii,Staphylococcus aureus,Salmonella typhi and Escherichia Coli.

A Combination Method of Differential Evolution Algorithm and Neural Network for Automatic Identification Oil Spill at vietnam East Sea

This paper proposes an automatic detection of oil spills on SAR （synthetic aperture radar） images using DE （differential evolution）, neutral network and BP （back propagation） algorithm. Here, DE and BP are combined to train a multilayer perceptron （MLP） network for achieving the global extreme with a better convergence speed. The input data of neural networks are the geometrical characteristics ofoil spills （e.g. area, perimeter, complexity） and the physical behavior ofoil spills （e,g. mean or max backscatter value, standard deviation of the dark formation）. The out data are oil spill or look-alike. We experiment ALOS/PALSAR and EnviSAT ASAR on East sea area of viet Nam. The experimental results show that the combination algorithm converges faster and has significantly better capability of avoiding local optima.

Biomass accumulation of Panax vietnamensis in cell suspension cultures varies with addition of plant growth regulators and organic additives

Objective: To evaluate the impact of plant growth regulators including kinetin(KN),benzyl adenine and naphthalene acetic acid, yeast extract and casein hydrolyzate on biomass accumulation of vietnamese ginseng Panax vietnamensis(P. vietnamensis) in cell suspension ***: Cell suspension cultures were established from friable calluses derived from leaves and petioles of 3-year-old in-vitro P. vietnamensis plants. The cell suspension cultures were grown in Murashige and Skoog basal media supplemented with various concentrations of KN, benzyl adenine, naphthalene acetic acid, and yeast extract and casein ***: All tested factors generated an increase in the cell biomass of P. vietnamensis in suspension culture, but the impact of each varies depended on the factor type, concentration, and incubation period. Addition of 2.0 mg/L KN resulted in the largest biomass increase after 24 d,(57.0 ± 0.9) and(3.1 ± 0.1) mg/m L fresh and dry weight, respectively,whereas addition of benzyl adenine or naphthalene acetic acid produced optimum levels of Panax cell biomass at 1.0 and 1.5 mg/L, respectively. Addition of the elicitor yeast extract led to a 1.4–2.4 fold increase in biomass of P. vietnamensis, while addition of casein hydrolyzate enhanced biomass accumulation 1.8–2.6 ***: The addition of each factor causes significant changes in biomass accumulation of P. vietnamensis. The largest biomass accumulation is from cultures grown in MS media containing 2.0 mg/L KN for 24 d. The outcome of the present study provides new insights into the optimal suspension culture conditions for studies on the in vitro cell biomass production of P. vietnamensis.

This paper distinguished hydrogen roles to improve electron mobility and carrier concentration in ZnO and Al doped ZnO sputtered *** combining experimental evidences and theoretical results,we find out that hydrogen located at oxygen vacancy sites(H_(O))is the main factor gives rise to increase simultaneously mobility and carrier concentration which has not been mentioned *** appropriate hydrogen content during sputtering not only results in crystalline relaxation but also supports doping Al into ZnO,increasing carrier concentration and electron mobility in the *** principles calculations confirmed hydrogen substitutional stability for oxygen vacancy,significantly reducing electron conductivity effective mass and hence increasing electron *** particular,0.8%hydrogen partial pressure ratio achieved 61 cm^(2)V^(-1)s^(-1)maximum electron mobility,optical transmittance above 82%in visible and near-infrared regions,and 2×10^(20) cm^(-3)carrier concentrations for H-Al co-doped ZnO *** values approach ideal electrical and optical properties for transparent conducting oxide *** presence of one maximum electron mobility was attributed to competition between increasing mobility due to restoring effective electron mass and hydrogen passivation of native defects,and decreased electron mobility due to electron-phonon scattering.

Fishing with artificial light has become one of the most advanced,efficient,and common methods for the night-time purse seining in *** study evaluated the radiation spectrum,CIE chromaticity coordinates,correlated color temperature(CCT),catch rate,fuel consumption,and CO_(2)emissions when using Light emitting diode(LED)lamps(0.196 kW)in comparison with the use of metal halide(MH)lights(1 kW)in the offshore purse seine fishery in Quang Tri province,*** fishing efficiency of the purse seine fishing boats using LED lamps has increased 1.58 times in catch rate than MH lights,although the energy consumption of LED lamp is 4 times *** consumption of boats per trip using LED lamps was one third of that using MH *** use of LED reduced the radiation spectrum,especially the intense UV radiation which negatively affects the health of *** study also showed the potential of CO_(2)emission reduction up to 1.09 tons of CO_(2)per trip per boat from the use of LED lamps in the offshore purse seine fishing boats.

Analytical Results of Cam Ranh-Tuy Phong Fault Characteristics and Its Relation to Mud Eruption in Nam Trung Bo Area, viet Nam

By analyzing the satellite images, topology map, geology map, geomorphology map, and field survey data, this study has determined the Cam Ranh-Tuy Phong fault in the South Central area, viet Nam has NE-SW orientation and inclines to SE with high slope angle of 70-80°. During the Pliocene-Quaternary period, the Cam Ranh-Tuy Phong fault is left-lateral movement with the extension mechanisms, which formed the graben have an NE-SW orientation, deposited by Quaternary sediment. The fracture systems and fault are the channels for the mineral water and hot water to move up from the deep zone in the area of Cam Thinh Dong, Ha Nhi, Vinh Hao, Nha Me, Tuy Thinh..., and also to be the channels for the mud material, clay and underground water to move from below zone to the surface to form high mud mounds. The analytical results of clay mud have identified clay mineral composition to be main montmorilonit, illite, kaolinite, calcite, chlorite. The occurrence of montmorilonit minerals in this study area is characterized by the alkali-rich environment. The chemical composition of calcite is determined forming in the environment of with pH 〉 9, characterized by the add climates. Besides, other analytical results of clay mud also identified some minerals, such as： ankerite （Fe, Mg）CO3, calcite and some accessory minerals such as： fluorite, lepidocrokit with the participation hydrothermal process.

Recent paleobotanical investigations in vietnam provide a good opportunity to improve our understanding of the biodiversity and paleoclimatic conditions in the geological past of Southeast ***(Arecaceae)are a diverse family of typical thermophilous plants with a relatively low tolerance for *** this study,we describe well-preserved fossil palm leaves from the Oligocene Dong Ho Formation of Hoanh Bo Basin,northern *** of the fossil leaves,such as a fan-shaped costapalmate lamina,an unarmed petiole,a costa slightly enlarged at the base that then tapers distally into the blade,and well-preserved amphistomatic leaves with cuticles,suggest that they represent a new fossil species,which we herein designate Sabalites colaniae ***,***,*** et *** *** with other paleontological and palaeoclimatic evidence,we conclude that a warm climate prevailed in northern vietnam and nearby areas during the Oligocene.
