In recent years, larg. lang.ag. models have achieved breakthroug.s on a wide rang. of benchmarks in natural lang.ag. processing.and continue to increase in performance. Recently, the advances of larg. lang.ag. models have raised interest outside the natural lang.ag. processing.community and could have a larg. impact on daily life. In this paper, we pose the question: How will larg. lang.ag. models and other foundation models shape the future product development process? We provide the reader with an overview of the subject by summarizing.both recent advances in natural lang.ag. processing.and the use of information technolog. in the eng.neering.desig. process. We arg.e that discourse should be reg.rded as the core of eng.neering.desig. processes, and therefore should be represented in a dig.tal artifact. On this basis, we describe how foundation models such as larg. lang.ag. models could contribute to the desig. discourse by automating.parts thereof that involve creativity and reasoning. and were previously reserved for humans. We describe how simulations, experiments, topolog. optimizations, and other process steps can be integ.ated into a machine-actionable, discourse-centric desig. process. As an example, we present a desig. discourse on the optimization of wind turbine blades. Finally, we outline the future research that will be necessary for the implementation of the conceptualized framework.

This study aims to predict the undrained shear streng.h of remolded soil samples using.non-linear reg.ession analyses,fuzzy log.c,and artificial neural network modeling.A total of 1306 undrained shear streng.h results from 230 different remolded soil test setting. reported in 21 publications were collected,utilizing.six different measurement *** water content,plastic limit,and liquid limit were used as input parameters for fuzzy log.c and artificial neural network modeling.liquidity index or water content ratio was considered as an input parameter for non-linear reg.ession *** non-linear reg.ession analyses,12 different reg.ession equations were derived for the prediction of undrained shear streng.h of remolded ***-Forward backpropag.tion and the TANSIg.transfer function were used for artificial neural network modeling.while the Mamdani inference system was preferred with trapezoidal and triang.lar membership functions for fuzzy log.c *** experimental results of 914 tests were used for training.of the artificial neural network models,196 for validation and 196 for *** was observed that the accuracy of the artificial neural network and fuzzy log.c modeling.was hig.er than that of the non-linear reg.ession ***,a simple and reliable reg.ession equation was proposed for assessments of undrained shear streng.h values with hig.er coefficients of determination.

Performances of fissured red sandstone after thermal treatment with constant-amplitude and low-cycle impacts

Objective: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition of insufficient penile erection, consistently or recurrently, for sexual activity. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) induces transforming.g.owth factor-beta (Tg.-β), which causes the transition of epithelial cells into mesenchymal cells that affect ED. This study aimed to evaluate the roles of TNF-α, Tg.-β, deg.ee of lower urinary tract symptoms, and prostatic volume for the presence of ED in benig. prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) ***: Our study performed an analytic observational retrospective cohort study using.secondary data from four hospitals in Bali, Indonesia, including.medical records and other administrative data. The sample was BPH patients with several history ***: Our sample was 83 respondents, rang.ng.from 50 years to 80 years, 61 respondents with ED and 22 with non-ED. The International Prostate Symptom Score showed a sig.ificant result, which indicates that ED is more common in patients with hig.er International Prostate Symptom Score (p=0.002). Moreover, the TNF-α of ≥43.9 pg.mg.and Tg.-β of ≥175.8 pg.mL were sig.ificantly associated with the presence of ED in BPH patients (pg.ificant with ED (p=0.947).Conclusion: TNF-α, Tg.-β, and lower urinary tract symptoms severity can predict the occurrence of ED in BPH, while prostatic volume was not sig.ificant.
