The research of soil classification and soil grade evaluation is often based on fuzzy theory. So, the traditional method has an inevitable problem about weight matrix which given by some experts, and the final result can be influenced by artificial factors. The essentials of fuzzy synthetically judge is to handle the data of high dimension. That is to reducing the dimension number. The weight matrix in fuzzy theory is corresponding to low dimension projection value of each index. But we can′t define whether the weight matrix given by experts is the best projection value or not. So, the authors apply a new technique of falling dimension named projection pursuit to soil study, through using the improved real coding based accelerating genetic algorithm to optimize the projection direction. Thus, it can transfer multi dimension data into one dimension data, through searching for the optimum projection direction to realize the soil classification and its grade evaluation. The method can avoid the artificial disturbance, and acquire preferably effect. Thus, the paper provides a new method to the research of soil classification and grade evaluation.

In ＂Electrical Conductivity and Current-Voltage Characteristics of Individual Conducting polymer pEDOT Nanowires＂, Long et al. reported the currentvoltage （Ⅰ - Ⅴ） characteristics of individual poly（3,4- ethylenedioxythiophene）（pEDOT） nanowires in the temperature range from 20 to 50K （Fig. 2（a））. The authors stated that at temperatures equal to 50 K and higher, the Ⅰ - Ⅴ curves were linear. With decreasing temperature the Ⅰ - Ⅴ curves gradually became nonlinear. The temperature behavior of Ⅰ - Ⅴ characteristics is not suitably explained.

The Mw 9.0 Tohoku-Oki earthquake that hit the mainland Japan on 11 th March, 2011 had resulted a devastating Tsunami due to an active thrusting between the pacific and the North American plates. Static and kinematic offsets at the offshore epicentre of the Mw 9.0 event remain unanswered and being investigated along with their near and far field limiting distances from the epicentre. Accordingly, offset measurements from 60 continuously operating IGS and GEONET GNSS stations were radially classified from the epicentre and interpreted with analytical models to find their linear offset decay rates. Co-and post-seismic static positional anomaly offsets of sixty days show almost all near field stations had strong or appreciable eastward or south eastward static shifts. Near stations(pproximately 1-2 cm at far sites like SMST and AIRA. Characteristic decay duration(’b’) of the mean kinematic co-seismic shift(’a’)of near field stations was 17.28 s during earthquake hours with an EW component shift >1.5 m. Spatial models of projected N-S static and kinematic offsets show their asymmetrical distributions around the epicentre with maximum model offset of-1.84 m displaced towards south at-45 km north of the epicentre. The Tohoku-Oki earthquake produced a resultant kinematic offset of-10.2 m towards East at its offshore epicentre;while the estimated near field static offset is ~9.82 m. However, both estimates are bigger than double the resultant offset measured value(~4.3 m) in the Japanese mainland using GpS. The difference in the kinematic and static near field offsets highlight that the near surface had elastic or in-elastic kinematic strain dissipation as against the lithospheric level viscoelastic static response, which resulted rapid kinematic strain release(1.12 cm/km)within the limiting radius of ~220 km from the Tohoku-Oki epicentr

Discrete Hopfield neural network with delay is an extension of discrete Hopfield neural network. As it is well known, the stability of neural networks is not only the most basic and important problem but also foundation of the network＇s applications. The stability of discrete HJopfield neural networks with delay is mainly investigated by using Lyapunov function. The sufficient conditions for the networks with delay converging towards a limit cycle of length 4 are obtained. Also, some sufficient criteria are given to ensure the networks having neither a stable state nor a limit cycle with length 2. The obtained results here generalize the previous results on stability of discrete Hopfield neural network with delay and without delay.

The snow and ice on asphalt pavement are very dangerous to people,automobiles and airplanes,so melting snow and ice becomes a high profile. Investigation on the asphalt concrete containing conductive fillers has a great contribution to the researches of melting snow and ice. However,it is few to research on the fatigue behavior which is important in the profile. By four-point bending fatigue tests,the specific fatigue models of conductive asphalt concrete were developed. The parameters of three fatigue models were regressed,the three models predicted the fatigue behavior by the strain levels,the strain levels and initial mix stiffness and dissipated energy respectively. In the model of the strain levels,the fatigue life is decreased at the same strain level as the conductive filler is added. The model based on the strain levels and initial mix stiffness reveals that the fatigue life is partly affected by the initial mix stiffness which is influenced by the conductive filler. The model used the dissipated energy approach is adopted to predict the fatigue behavior with the introduction of the impact the conductive filler on the dissipated energy.

We present a list of living and (sub) fossil Ostracoda (Crustacea) from Holocene sediments from Lake NamCo,Southern Tibet, including descriptions, distribution and ecological data of the important taxa from the Nam Cocatchment. Species associations from lake surface sediments, sediment cores and outcrop samples consist of eight speciesincluding Candona candida ( O.F. Müller, 1776 ) , Candona xizangensis ( Huang, 1982 ) , Eucypris afghanistanensis( Hartmann, 1964) , Fabaeformiscandona danielopoli ( Yin & Martens, 1997 ) , Ilyocypris cf. mongolica ( Martens, 1991 ) ,? Leucocythere dorsotuberosa ( Huang, 1982 ) , Leucocytherella sinensis ( Huang, 1982 ) and Limnocythere inopinata ( Baird,1843). The dominant species are ? L. dorsotuberosa and L. sinensis. They show morphological variations with different degreesof ornamentation. We regard the variable noding and rib formation as intraspecific variability possibly driven byenvironmental factors. In general,the number and degree of ribs increases with water depth in ? L. dorsotuberosa. Thus,theornamentation may present a means to reconstruct(paleo) water depths. Our list is intended to serve as a taxonomical andpaleoecological primer for future paleolimnological work.

pillar[n]arenes are a new kind of supramolecular macrocyclic hosts which have developed rapidly due to their unique topology and high functionality, giving rise to many applications in the construction of interesting and functional materials. Among them, water-soluble pillar[n]arenes bearing triethylene oxide (TEO) chains have drawn increasing research interest due to their advantageous properties. In this review, we summarized the recent progress of dynamic materials fabricated from water soluble pillar[n]arenes bearing TEO groups, including thermo responsive materials with lower critical solution temperature (LCST) behavior, cyclic host liquids, and smart windows. It is anticipated that more and more ‘smart' supramolecular materials based on modified pillar[n]arenes will be developed in this burgeoning area of research.
