Anti-synchronization of Four-wing Chaotic Systems via Sliding Mode Control

Sliding mode control is an important method used in nonlinear control systems. In robust control systems, the sliding mode control is often adopted due to its inherent advantages of easy realization, fast response and good transient performance as well as its insensitivity to parameter uncertainties and disturbances. In this paper, we derive new results based on the sliding mode control for the anti-synchronization of identical Qi three-dimensional (3D) four-wing chaotic systems (2008) and identical Liu 3D four-wing chaotic systems (2009). The stability results for the anti-synchronization schemes derived in this paper using sliding mode control (SMC) are established using Lyapunov stability theory. Since the Lyapunov exponents are not required for these calculations, the SMC method is very effective and convenient to achieve global chaos anti-synchronization of the identical Qi four-wing chaotic systems and identical Liu four-wing chaotic systems. Numerical simulations are shown to illustrate and validate the synchronization schemes derived in this paper.

In recent years,there are numerous studies on chaotic systems with special equilibrium curves having various shapes such as circle,butterfly,heart and *** paper describes a new 3-D chaotic dynamical system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed chaotic system has two quadratic,two cubic and two quartic nonlinear *** is noted that the proposed chaotic system has a hidden attractor since it has an infinite number of equilibrium *** is also established that the proposed chaotic system exhibits multi-stability with two coexisting chaotic attractors for the same parameter values but differential initial states.A detailed bifurcation analysis with respect to variations in the system parameters is portrayed for the new chaotic system with capsule equilibrium *** have shown MATLAB plots to illustrate the capsule equilibrium curve,phase orbits of the new chaotic system,bifurcation diagrams and *** an engineering application,we have proposed a speech cryptosystem with a numerical algorithm,which is based on our novel 3-D chaotic system with a capsule-shaped equilibrium *** proposed speech cryptosystem follows its security evolution and implementation on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)*** results show that the proposed encryption system utilizes 33%of the FPGA,while the maximum clock frequency is 178.28 MHz.

Neural networks have been applied in various fields from signal processing, pattern recognition, associative memory to artificial intelligence. Recently, nanoscale memristor has renewed interest in experimental realization of neural network. A neural network with a memristive synaptic weight is studied in this work. Dynamical properties of the proposed neural network are investigated through phase portraits, Poincaré map, and Lyapunov exponents. Interestingly, the memristive neural network can generate hyperchaotic attractors without the presence of equilibrium points. Moreover, circuital implementation of such memristive neural network is presented to show its feasibility.

Edge effects on plant diversity in tropical forest ecosystems at Periyar Wildlife sanctuary in the Western Ghats of India

Forest resource conservation has been widely accepted as a key to sustain the local and regional economic development. The forest edges are affected by anthropogenic activities including deforestation, forest fragmentation, selective logging, extraction of non-timber forest products, collection of medicinal plants, recreations, hydroelectric pro- jects and its associated developmental activities, which alter the biodiver- sity. The present study intends to evaluate the edge effect on vegetation structure and species compositions in the tropical forest ecosystems at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Ghats. High species richness （number of species） and Shannon＇s diversity indices were observed in the site IlI （completely undisturbed forest） compared to site I （adjacent to the village/edge of the forest, which is next to the teal（ plantation, severely disturbed forest） and site II （in between the undisturbed forest and mod- erately disturbed forest） while density of tree species showed greater value in site II. Single species such as Tectona grandis （IVI of 80） and Terminaliapaniculata （IVI of 112） were the dominant tree species in site I and site II, respectively, whereas, in site III Terminalia bellirica, Bishofia javanica and Syzgium gardneri shared the dominance. Perturba- tion leads to alien plant invasion particularly Lantana camara, Eupato- rium odoratum and Ageratum conizoides. Site II is at forest transition level because the site is dominated by both natural species as well as plantation species such as Tectona grandis. This site seems to be a buffer zone on natural forest and plantations. Further studies are required to analyse the real patterns of regeneration and dynamic change due to human impact by long term monitoring with the establishment of perma- nent plots.
