Acute pancreatitis constitutes 3% of all admissions with abdominal pain. There are reports of osteal fat necrosis leading to periosteal reactions and osteolytic lesions following severe pancreatitis, particularly in long bones. A 54-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with acute pancretitis, who later developed spinal discitis secondary to necrotizing pancreatitis. He was treated conservatively with antibiotics and after a month he recovered completely without any neurological deficit. This case is reported for its unusual and unreported spinal complications after acute pancreatitis.

We show the results of first-principles calculations of structural,phonon,elastic,thermal and electronic properties of the Mg-X inter-metallics in their respective ground state phase and meta-stable phases at equilibrium geometry and the studied pressure *** dispersion spectra for these compounds were investigated by using the linear response *** phonon spectra do not show any abnormality in their respective ground state *** respective ground states phases of the studied system remain stable within the studied pressure *** and thermodynamic properties were derived by analysis of the electronic structures and quasi-harmonic *** mixed bonding character of the Mg-X intermetallics is revealed by Mg-X bonds,and it leads the metallic *** of the contribution originated from X ions d like states at Fermi level compared to that of Mg ion in these *** this work,we also predicted the melting temperature of these intermetallics and evaluated the Debye temperature by using elastic constants.

The taiga coniferous forests of the Siberian region are the main carbon sinks in the forest ***, the size of the carbon accumulation is determined by the photosynthetic productivity, which is strongly influenced by environmental factors. As a result,an assessment of the relationship between environmental factors and photosynthetic productivity makes it possible to calculate and even predict carbon sinks in coniferous forests at the regional level. However, at various stages of the vegetative period, the force of the connection between environmental conditions and the productivity of photosynthesis may change. In this research, correlations between the photosynthetic activity of Scots pine(Pinus sylvestris L.) with the environmental conditions were compared in spring and in autumn. In spring, close positive correlation of the maximum daily net photosynthesis was identified with only one environmental factor. For different years, correlations were for soil temperature(rs= 0.655,p = 0.00315) or available soil water supply(rs= 0.892,p = 0.0068). In autumn within different years, significant correlation was shown with two(temperature of air and soil; rs= 0.789 and 0.896, p = 0.00045 and 0.000006,respectively) and four factors: temperature of air(rs=0.749, p = 0.00129) and soil(rs= 0.84, p = 0.00000),available soil water supply(rs= 0.846, p = 0.00013) and irradiance(rs= 0.826, p = 0.000001). Photosynthetic activity has a weaker connection with changes in environmental factors in the spring, as compared to *** is explained by the multidirectional influence of environmental conditions on photosynthesis in this period and by the necessity of earlier photosynthesis onset, despite the unfavorable conditions. This data may be useful for predicting the flow of carbon in dependence on environmental factors in this region in spring and in autumn.

The changes in surface topography of thin conducting Ag films under high-density current condition are studied by optical and scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM). It is established that the loss of conductivity in specimens occurs through depletion of the material due to their overheating and electromigration process. It has been shown that the r.m.s. roughness, the fractal dimension of voids and the fractal dimension of the surface allow complete numerical characterization of surface topography changes in thin Ag films.

Novel orange-red emitting Ba_2Ca_（1–x）Zn_2Si_6O_（17）：x Sm^（3＋）（0.02≤x≤0.08） phosphors were synthesized using conventional solid-state reaction method under air atmosphere. The phase formation of the samples was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction patterns. Scanning electron microscopy（SEM） and photoluminescence properties were also investigated. The narrow excitation and emission spectra indicated the typical 4f-4f transitions of Sm^（3＋）. The dominant excitation line was around 405 nm attributed to ~6H_（5/2）→ ~4F_（7/2） and the emission spectrum consisted of four emission peaks at 562, 600, 647, and 708 nm corresponding to the various transitions ~4g_（5/2） to ~6HJ（J=5/2, 7/2, 9/2 and 11/2） of the Sm^（3＋） ions in the same order. The strongest emission band located at 600 nm was attributed to ~4g_（5/2）→~6H_（7/2） transition of Sm^（3＋）, producing bright orange-red color emission. The optimal dopant concentration of Sm3＋ ion in Ba_2CaZn_2Si_6O_（17）：x Sm^（3＋） phosphor was around 4 mol.% and the critical transfer distance（Rc） of Sm^（3＋） was calculated to be 2.65 nm. Decay time varied with the Sm^（3＋） concentrations in Ba_2 CaZn_2Si_6O_（17） phosphors. In addition, the Commission International del＇Eclairagethe（CIE） chromaticity coordinates of Ba_2Ca_（0.96）Zn_2Si_6O_（17）：0.04Sm^（3＋） phosphor was located in the orange-red region（0.547, 0.450） and the correlated color temperature（CCT） was 2543 K. The present results indicated that Sm^（3＋） activated Ba_2CaZn_2Si_6O_（17） phosphors may be used as an orange-red emitting phosphor for near-ultraviolet（n-Uv） based white light emitting diodes（WLEDs） applications.
