Evaluation of clinical relevance of examining K-ras, p16 and p53 mutations along with allelic losses at 9p and 18q in EUS-guided fine needle aspiration samples of patients with chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer

AIM： To establish an optimum combination of molecular markers resulting in best overall diagnostic sensitivity and specificity for evaluation of suspicious pancreatic mass. METHODS： Endoscopic ultrasound （EUS）-guided fine needle aspiration cytology （FNA） was performed on 101 consecutive patients （63 males, 38 females, 60 ± 12 years; 81 with subsequently diagnosed pancreatic cancer, 20 with chronic pancreatitis） with focal pancreatic mass. Samples were evaluated on-site by an experienced cytopathologist. DNA was extracted from Giemsa stained cells selected by laser microdissection and the presence of K-ras, p53 and p16 somatic mutations was tested by cycling-gradient capillary electrophoresis （CGCE） and single-strand conformation polymorphism （SSCP） techniques. In addition, allelic losses of tumor suppressor genes p16 （INK4, CDKN2A） and DPC4 （MADH4, SMAD4） were detected by monitoring the loss of heterozygosity （LOH） at 9p and 18q, respectively. RESULTS： Sensitivity and specificity of EUS-guided FNA were 75% and 85%, positive and negative predictive value reached 100%. The remaining 26% samples were assigned as inconclusive. Testing of molecular markers revealed sensitivity and specificity of 70% and 100% for K-ras mutations （P 〈 0.001）, 24% and 90% for p53 mutations （NS）, 13% and 100% for p16 mutations （NS）, 85% and 64% for aUelic losses at 9p （P 〈 0.001） and 78% and 57% for allelic losses at 18q （P 〈 0.05）. When tests for different molecular markers were combined, the best results were obtained with K-ras ＋ LOH at 9p （92% and 64%, P 〈 0.001）, K-ras ＋ LOH at 18q （92% and 57%, P 〈 0.001）, and K-ras ＋ LOH 9q ＋ LOH 18q （96% and 43%, P 〈 0.001）. When the molecular markers were used as complements to FNA cytology to evaluate inconclusive samples only, the overall sensitivity of cancer detection was 100% in all patients enrolled in the study. Spatio-temporal cross-shore profiles and textural characteristics are the key parameters for understanding dynamics of the inter-tidal sedimentary *** study describes short-term dynamics of the inter-tidal sedimentary environment at beaches along the micro-tidal *** a correlation is estimated in cross-shore morphodynamics and textural characteristics of surface *** sedimentary environment is examined for a complete annual cycle using monthly collected cross-shore profiles and sediment *** Devbag beach(northern side) and Ravindranath Tagore beach(southern side) at the Kali river mouth,Karwar,west coast of India are characterized from extremely gentle to average slope,and broadly composed of unimodal *** sedimentary environment is significantly composed of textures having fine to medium sand,well to moderately sorted,fine to coarse skewed,and platykurtic to leptokurtic in *** the annual cycle a reversal pattern is observed between the two adjacent beaches,where a slower rate of sediment accretion is observed at Devbag beach while Ravindranath Tagore beach exhibited *** beach dynamics along with the propagation of south-west(SW) and south-west-west(SWW) waves towards the coast significantly exhibit a dominance of northward sediment transport with the existence of a northerly alongshore *** addition,the study reveals that an eroded beach may not be significantly identified composed of coarse *** poor correlation in morpho-sedimentary characteristics reveals the prediction of grain characteristics based on beach profile and vice-versa is unrealistic.

Phishing is a type of cybercrime in which cyber-attackers pose themselves as authorized persons or entities and hack the victims’sensitive data.E-mails,instant messages and phone calls are some of the common modes used in *** the security models are continuously upgraded to prevent cyberattacks,hackers find innovative ways to target the *** this background,there is a drastic increase observed in the number of phishing emails sent to potential *** scenario necessitates the importance of designing an effective classification *** numerous conventional models are available in the literature for proficient classification of phishing emails,the Machine Learning(ML)techniques and the Deep Learning(DL)models have been employed in the *** current study presents an Intelligent Cuckoo Search(CS)Optimization Algorithm with a Deep Learning-based Phishing Email Detection and Classification(ICSOA-DLPEC)*** aim of the proposed ICSOA-DLPEC model is to effectually distinguish the emails as either legitimate or phishing *** the initial stage,the pre-processing is performed through three stages such as email cleaning,tokenization and stop-word ***,the N-gram approach is;moreover,the CS algorithm is applied to extract the useful feature ***,the CS algorithm is employed with the Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU)model to detect and classify phishing ***,the CS algorithm is used to fine-tune the parameters involved in the GRU *** performance of the proposed ICSOA-DLPEC model was experimentally validated using a benchmark dataset,and the results were assessed under several *** comparative studies were conducted,and the results confirmed the superior performance of the proposed ICSOA-DLPEC model over other existing *** proposed model achieved a maximum accuracy of 99.72%.

Formation and Characterization of AlCaFeCompound in Al-Ca-Fe Alloys

The phase diagram of the Al-Ca-Fe system in the aluminum corner， including the liquidus projection and solidification reactions， has been studied by using thermodynamic calculations and experimental techniques. It has been shown that instead of the Al3Fe phase， a ternary compound whose composition corresponds to the formula Al10CaFe2should be in equilibrium with the aluminum solid solution (Al). Thе transition from the binary to the ternary compound occurs via the peritectic transformation L+ Al3Fe → (Al) + Al10CaFe2(at 638 ℃， 3.3 at.% Ca and 0.5 at.% Fe ). Primary and eutectic crystals of the ternary compound have a compact morphology， in contrast to needle-shaped inclusions of the Al3Fe phase. Since the Al10CaFe2ternary compound has not been previously described in the literature， first principles calculations and X-ray diffraction analysis have been used to determine its crystal lattice structure. In addition， it has been shown that the near eutectic alloy Al–6 wt.%Ca–1 wt.%Fe after annealing at 500-600 ℃ has a fine structure with a total fraction of excess phases of about 25 vol.%. Thus， the Al-Ca-Fe system can be used to create new aluminum-matrix composite alloys.

Al-driven peculiarities of local coordination and magnetic properties in single-phase Al_(x)-CrFeCoNi high-entropy alloys

Modern design of superior multi-functional alloys composed of several principal components requires in-depth studies of their local structure for developing desired macroscopic ***,peculiarities of atomic arrangements on the local scale and electronic states of constituent elements in the single-phase face-centered cubic(fcc)-and body-centered cubic(bcc)-structured high-entropy Alx-CrFeCoNi alloys(x=0.3 and 3,respectively)are explored by element-specific X-ray absorption spectroscopy in hard and soft X-ray energy *** based on the reverse Monte Carlo approach allow to perform a simultaneous fit of extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectra recorded at K absorption edges of each 3d constituent and to reconstruct the local environment within the first coordination shells of absorbers with high *** revealed unimodal and bimodal distributions of all five elements are in agreement with structure-dependent magnetic properties of studied alloys probed by magnetometry.A degree of surface atoms oxidation uncovered by soft X-rays suggests different kinetics of oxide formation for each type of constituents and has to be taken into account.X-ray magnetic circular dichroism technique employed at L2,3 absorption edges of transition metals demonstrates reduced magnetic moments of 3d metal constituents in the sub-surface region of in situ cleaned fcc-structured Al0.3-CrFeCoNi compared to their bulk *** to nanostructured versions of multicomponent alloys,such studies would bring new insights related to effects of high entropy mixing on low dimensions.

The influence of freeze-thaw cycles on the granulometric composition of Moscow morainic clay

The freeze-thaw cycling process considerably changes the composition, structure, and properties of soils. Since the grain size is the most important factor in determining soil characteristics, our current research primarily aims to investigate dynamic changes of the soil fraction when exposed to freeze-thaw conditions. We observed two series of Moscow morainic clayey specimens （gQⅡm）：（Ⅰ） the original series, and （Ⅱ） the remolded series. We subjected each series of soil specimens to different frequencies of freeze-thaw cycles （3, 6, 20, and 40 cycles）, and we used granulometric tests to analyze both series before and after exposure to freeze-thaw conditions. As a result of our experiments, the granulometric compositions tended to be distributed evenly after 40 freeze-thaw processes （i.e., content of fraction for 0.1-0.05 mm was increased after 40 freeze-thaw cycles） because the division of coarse grains and the aggregation of fine grains were synchronized during the freeze-thaw process. The soil grains in both series changed bi-directionally. In the original series, changes of the sand grains were conjugated with the clay grains, and in the remolded series, changes of the sand grains were conjugated with the silt grains, because potential energy difference caused the division and aggregation processes to relate to the counteraction process. The even distribution of soil grain size indicated the state of equilibrium or balance. The granulometric compositions were altered the most during the sixth freeze-thaw cycle, because the coefficient of the intensity variation of the grain fineness （Kvar） had its maximum value at that time.

Coarse corn particles cause a negative effect on eggshell quality of semi-heavy laying hens

One of the possible ways to optimize the productive performance of poultry is through the physical processing of ingredients,which can improve the use of nutrients in these *** this context,this study was to evaluate the effects of different corn particle sizes in diets on the productive performance and egg quality of semi-heavy laying *** naked neck laying hens were used from 24 weeks of age and distributed in a completely randomized *** diets in different treatments contained corn grain ground into sieves with a diameter of 2,4,or 8 mm to provide corn particles with a geometric mean diameter(GMD) of 605(fine),1,030(medium),and 2,280 μm(coarse),*** feed and leftovers were weighed daily throughout the experimental period to determine the feed intake and feed *** corn particle sizes did not affect any aspect of the productive performance of hens,except for feed *** fed fine and medium corn particles exhibited higher values for egg yolk color,eggshell weight,and eggshell *** is suggested that semi-heavy laying hens should be fed mash diets containing corn particles with GMD from 605 to 1,030 μm,because coarse corn particles cause a negative effect on eggshell quality.

Studies on composite solid propellant with tri-modal ammonium perchlorate containing an ultrafine fraction

Application of the Non-Local Physics in the Theory of the Matter Movement in Black Hole

The theory of the matter movement in a black hole in the frame of non-local quantum hydrodynamics (NLQHD) is considered. The theory corresponds to the limit case when the matter density tends to infinity. From calculations follow that NLQHD equations for the black hole space have the traveling wave solutions. The domain of the solution existence is limited by the event horizon where gravity tends to infinity. The simple analytical particular cases and numerical calculations are delivered.
