In the paper an axiomatic approach to express rates of growth is presented. The formula is given of rate of growth at a point as the limit case of rate of growth on an interval and the inverse formula is derived to compute present and future value of capital for an integrable rate of growth. Incidentally some inconsistencies in currently used formulas are pointed out.

A diagnosis of new-onset diabetes after transplantation(NODAT) carries with it a threat to the renal allograft,as well as the same short-and long-term implications of type 2 diabetes seen in the general *** usually occurs early after transplantation,and is usually diagnosed according to general population ***-modifiable risk factors for NODAT include advancing age,African American,Hispanic,or South Asian ethnicity,genetic background,a positive family history for diabetes mellitus,polycystic kidney disease,and previously diagnosed glucose *** risk factors for NODAT include obesity and the metabolic syndrome,hepatitis C virus and cytomegalovirus infection,corticosteroids,calcineurin inhibitor drugs(especially tacrolimus),and *** affects graft and patient survival,and increases the incidence of post-transplant cardiovascular *** incidence and impact of NODAT can be minimized through pre-and post-transplant screening to identify patients at higher risk,including by oral glucose tolerance tests,as well as multi-disciplinary care,lifestyle modification,and the use of modified immunosuppressive regimens coupled with glucose-lowering therapies including oral hypoglycemic agents and *** NODAT is a major cause of post-transplant morbidity and mortality,measures to reduce its incidence and impact have the potential to greatly improve overall transplant success.

During the last years, we have developed the FLOPER platform for providing a practical support to the so-called Multi-Adjoint Logic Programming approach (MALP in brief), which represents an extremely flexible framework into the Fuzzy Logic Programming arena. Nowadays, FLOPER is useful for compiling (to standard Prolog code), executing and debugging (by drawing execution trees) MALP programs, and it is ready for being extended in the near future with powerful transformation and optimization techniques designed in our research group during the recent past. Our last update consists in the integration of a graphical interface for a comfortable interaction with the system which allows, among other capabilities, the use of projects for packing scripts and auxiliary definitions of fuzzy sets/connectives, together with fuzzy programs and their associated lattices modeling truth-degrees beyond the simpler crisp case ﹛true;false﹜.

The quantum field theory approach has been proposed for the description of graphene electronic properties. It generalizes massless Dirac fermion model and is based on the Dirac-Hartree-Fock self-consistent field approximation and assumption on antiferromagnetic ordering of graphene lattice. The developed approach allows asymmetric charged carriers in single layer graphene with partially degenerated Dirac cones.

In this paper the behavior of an O-ring made of NBR rubber was investigated under extreme conditions. The effect of the extreme initial compression, operating pressure and extreme temperature conditions were examined. The rubber material was tested in simple tension, pure shear and equibiaxial tension modes complemented with a Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) to capture the viscoelastic behavior of the material. For the investigation, a large-strain viscoelastic material model was developed by the authors, to take into account the large deformations caused by extreme conditions. Insufficient space during installation causes extreme initial compression consequently leading the material to crack on the contacting outer surfaces. It was found that the excessive strain and friction induced shear stress contributes primarily to this phenomenon. Extreme operating pressure causes the seal to penetrate into the gap between the shaft and the housing. This behavior damages the material and cracks appear on the seal. High strain areas were found in the proximity of the gap in the material. The analysis of the extreme operating temperature showed that during cooling the O-ring can completely loose its ability to seal at -70°C. There are three contributing factors: the speed of cooling, the temperature and the coefficient of thermal expansion.

Post-transplant dyslipidemia is highly prevalent and presents unique management challenges to the clinician. The two major outcomes to considerwith post-transplant therapies for dyslipidemia are preserving or improving allograft function, and reducing cardiovascular risk. Although there are other cardiovascular risk factors such as graft dysfunction, hypertension, and diabetes, attention to dyslipidemia is warranted because interventions for dyslipidemia have an impact on reducing cardiac events in clinical trials specific to the transplant population. Dyslipidemia is not synonymous with hyperlipidemia. Numerous mechanisms exist for the occurrence of posttransplant dyslipidemia, including those mediated by immunosuppressive drug therapy. Statin therapy has received the most attention in all solid organ transplant recipient populations, although the effect of proper dietary advice and adjuvant pharmacological and nonpharmacological agents should not be dismissed. At all stages of treatment appropriate monitoring strategies for side effects should be implemented so that the benefits from these therapies can be achieved. Clinicians have a choice when there is a conflict between various transplant society and lipid society guidelines for therapy and targets.

随着光伏发电和电动汽车的快速发展,电网的安全和经济运行受到了更多的关注,开展关于能量管理问题的研究有助于保证电网的稳定和高效运行。文中针对并网模式下计及电动汽车和光伏—储能的微网能量管理问题,研究了根据电动汽车电池的荷电状态进行能量管理的功率计算模型,提出了兼顾光伏出力、电动汽车充放电功率、电网电价时段划分及储能能量状态的能量管理策略。在此基础上,建立了以电动汽车充放电功率为优化变量,以减少微网运行费用为目标的能量管理模型,并采用基于遗传算法与粒子群算法的混合优化算法(GAPSO)进行求解。最后以实际微网为例进行仿真,结果验证了所述方法的有效性和可行性。
