Multi-Step Clustering of Smart Meters Time Series:Application to Demand Flexibility Characterization of SME Customers

Initial joint bleed volume in a delayed on-demand treatment setup correlates with subsequent synovial changes in hemophilic mice

background: Hemophilic arthropathy is a debilitating morbidity of hemophilia caused by recurrent joint bleeds. We investigated if the joint bleed volume, before initiation of treatment, was linked to the subsequent degree of histopathological changes and the development of bone pathology in a mouse model of hemophilic ***: FvIII knock-out(F8-KO) mice were dosed with a micro-CT blood pool agent prior to induction of hemarthrosis. Eight hours after induction, the bleed volume was quantified with micro computed tomography(micro-CT) and recombinant FvIII treatment initiated. On Day 8, inflammation in the knees was characterized by fluorescence molecular tomography. On Day 14, knee pathology was characterized by micro-CT and histopathology. In a second study, contrast agent was injected into the knee of wild-type(WT) mice, followed by histopathological evaluation on Day ***: The av.r.ge joint bleed volume before treatment was 3.9 mm3. The inflammation-related fluorescent intensities in the injured knees were significantly increased on Day 8. The injured knees had significantly increased synovitis scores, vessel counts, and areas of hemosiderin compared to un-injured knees. Howev.r. no cartilage-or bone pathology was observed. The bleed volume before initiation of treatment correlated with the degree of synovitis and was associated with high fluorescent intensity on Day 8. In F8-KO and WT mice, persistence of contrast agent in the joint elicited morphological ***: When applying a delayed on-demand treatment regimen to hemophilic mice subjected to an induced knee hemarthrosis, the degree of histopathological changes on Day 14 reflected the bleed volume prior to initiation of treatment.

High-Efficiency DC-DC Conv.r.er for Large Input-voltage Fluctuations in Solar Applications

In the solar energy systems the solar irradiance v.r.ation is partially engaged, limiting the conv.r.er’s transformation rate for a certain input amount and leaving the rest of energy unconv.r.ed. In order to utilize at its maximum the energy provided from a Photovoltaic(PvP) system, this manuscript proposed a topology that can cope with marginal input voltage v.r.ations from 60v(DC) up to 1050v(DC) for a steady output voltage of 700v(DC). This output voltage value is suitable for any interlink post-regulation architecture. based on previous observations, this paper presents a wide-input voltage high-efficiency non-isolated single-control topology. Analysis, operating stages, simulations and experimental results for a 3k W prototype are presented.

Three-dimensional analysis of a faulted CO2 reservoir using an Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka approach to rock elastic properties and fault permeability

This work develops a three-dimensional(3D) multiscale model to analyze a complex carbon dioxide(CO_2) faulted reservoir that includes some key geologic features of the San Andreas and nearby faults southwest of the Kimberlina *** model uses the STOMP-CO2 code for flow modeling that is coupled to the AbaQUS~ finite element package for geomechanical analysis.A 3D AbaQUS~ finite element model is developed that contains a large number of 3D solid elements with two nearly parallel faults whose damage zones and cores are discretized using the same continuum *** zones with different mineral compositions are considered:shale,sandstone,fault damaged sandstone,fault damaged shale,and fault ***' elastic properties that gov.r. their poroelastic behavior are modeled by an Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka approach(EMTA).which can account for up to 15 mineral *** permeability of fault damage zones affected by crack density and orientations is also predicted by an EMTA formulation.A STOMP-CO2 grid that exactly maps the AbaQUS~ finite element model is built for coupled hydromechanical *** of the reservoir assuming three different crack pattern situations(including crack volume fraction and orientation) for the fault damage zones are performed to predict the potential leakage of CO_2 due to cracks that enhance the permeability of the fault damage *** results illustrate the important effect of the crack orientation on fault permeability that can lead to substantial leakage along the fault attained by the expansion of the CO_2 *** hydraulic fracture and tendency for the faults to slip are also examined and discussed in terms of stress distributions and geomechanical properties.

Isolated dorsal approach for the treatment of neglected volar metacarpophalangeal joint dislocations

Here, we present the clinical and radiological results of three neglected volar metacarpophalangeal dislocations in 2 patients, which were treated with open reductions 10 and 24 mo after the dislocations. There was a mean of a 20°(range 10°-30°) limitation of extension and a 53.3°(range 30°-70°) limitation of flexion preoperatively. Postoperatively, there was no limitation of extension(at 8 and 12 mo) in any of the fingers. In terms of flexion, one finger had full function, one had a 10° and the last one had a 30° limitation of flexion. Two of the fingers presented anesthesia preoperatively, which improved to hypesthesia postoperatively. One finger had hypesthesia, which improved postoperatively. During surgery, a ruptured dorsal capsule was found to have interposed into the joint, making closed reduction impossible. Our experience with these two patients demonstrated that, even in neglected cases, open reduction using an isolated dorsal approach may result in satisfactory clinical andradiological outcomes.

Anti-cd TCr antibody-expanded cd T cells:a better choice for the adoptive immunotherapy of lymphoid malignancies

Cell-based immunotherapy for lymphoid malignancies has gained increasing attention as patients develop resistance to conventional *** T cells,which have major histocompatibility complex(MHC)-unrestricted lytic activity,have become a promising candidate population for adoptive cell transfer *** previously established a stable condition for expanding cd T cells by using anti-cd T-cell receptor(TCr)*** this study,we found that adoptive transfer of the expanded cd T cells to Daudi lymphoma-bearing nude mice significantly prolonged the survival time of the mice and improved their living *** further investigated the characteristics of these antibody-expanded cd T cells compared to the more commonly used phosphoantigen-expanded cd T cells and evaluated the feasibility of employing them in the treatment of lymphoid *** but sustained proliferation of human peripheral blood cd T cells was observed upon stimulation with anti-cd TCr *** to phosphoantigen-stimulated cd T cells,the antibody-expanded cells manifested similar functional phenotypes and cytotoxic activity towards lymphoma cell *** is noteworthy that the anti-cd TCr antibody could expand both the vd1 and vd2 subsets of cd T *** in vitro-expanded vd1 T cells displayed comparable tumour cell-killing activity to vd2 T ***,owing to higher C–C chemokine receptor 4(CCr4)and CCr8 expression,the vd1 T cells were more prone to infiltrate CCL17-or CCL22-expressing lymphomas than the vd2 T *** the peripheral blood cd T cells from lymphoma patients further confirmed that the anti-cd TCr antibody-expanded cd T cells could be a more efficacious choice for the treatment of lymphoid malignancies than phosphoantigen-expanded cd T cells.

Seismic analysis of high-speed railway irregular bridge–track system considering v-shaped canyon effect

To explore the effect of canyon topography on the seismic response of railway irregular bridge-track system that crosses a v-shaped canyon, seismic ground motions of the horizontal site and v-shaped canyon site were simulated through theoretical analysis with 12 earthquake records selected from the Pacific Earthquake Engineering research Center(PEEr) Strong Ground Motion Database matching the site condition of the *** seismic response analyses of an existing 11-span irregular simply supported railway bridge-track system were performed under the simulated spatially v.r.ing ground motions. The effects of the v-shaped canyon topography on the peak ground acceleration at bridge foundations and seismic responses of the bridge-track system were analyzed. Comparisons between the results of horizontal and v-shaped canyon sites show that the top relative displacement between adjacent piers at the junction of the incident side and the back side of the v-shaped site is almost two times that of the horizontal site, which also determines the seismic response of the fastener. The maximum displacement of the fastener occurs in the v-shaped canyon site and is 1.4 times larger than that in the horizontal site. Neglecting the effect of v-shaped canyon leads to the inappropriate assessment of the maximum seismic response of the irregular high-speed railway bridge-track system. Moreov.r. engineers should focus on the girder end to the left or right of the two fasteners within the distance of track seismic damage.

Selective butyric acid production from CO_(2)and its upgrade to butanol in microbial electrosynthesis cells

Microbial electrosynthesis(MES)is a promising carbon utilization technology,but the low-value products(i.e.,acetate or methane)and the high electric power demand hinder its industrial *** this study,electrically efficient MES cells with a low ohmic resistance of 15.7 mU m^(2)were operated galvanostatically in fed-batch mode,alternating periods of high CO_(2)and H2 *** promoted acetic acid and ethanol production,ultimately triggering selective(78%on a carbon basis)butyric acid production via chain *** av.r.ge production rate of 14.5 g m^(-2)d^(-1)was obtained at an applied current of 1.0 or 1.5 mA cm^(-2),being Megasphaera *** key chain elongating *** a second cell with the catholyte containing the enriched community resulted in butyric acid production at the same rate as the previous cell,but the lag phase was reduced by 82%.Furthermore,interrupting the CO_(2)feeding and setting a constant pH2 of 1.7e1.8 atm in the cathode compartment triggered solventogenic butanol production at a pH below *** efficient cell design resulted in av.r.ge cell voltages of 2.6e2.8 v and a remarkably low electric energy requirement of 34.6 kWhel kg1 of butyric acid produced,despite coulombic efficiencies being restricted to 45%due to the cross-ov.r.of O_(2)and H2 through the *** conclusion,this study revealed the optimal operating conditions to achieve energy-efficient butyric acid production from CO_(2)and suggested a strategy to further upgrade it to valuable butanol.

Boninitic geochemical characteristics of high-Mg mafic dykes from the Singhbhum Granitoid Complex,Eastern India

The high-Mg mafic dykes from the Singhbhum Granitoid Complex in East India have geochemical characteristics[e.g.,enrichment of the large ion lithophile elements and light rare earth elements(LrEEs) relative to high field strength elements(HFSEs):high-MgO(>8%),high-SiO_2(>52%),low-TiO_2(0.58)]similar to those found in boninitic/noritic *** high percentage of orthopyroxene as a mafic mineral and of plagioclase as a felsic mineral,and normative hypersthene content greater than diopside content are also indications of their boninitic/noritic *** a triangular diagram of MgO-CaO-Al_2O_3 and on binary diagrams of Ti/v vs Ti/Sc and TiO_2 vs Zr,these samples show geochemical similarities with Phanerozoic boninites and Paleoproterozoic high-Mg *** major and trace element v.r.ation diagrams,these dykes show a normal crystallization trend and their Nb/La(values lower than av.r.ge bulk crust(0.69 and0.33,respectively) suggest no crustal *** low values of rb/Sr(0.11-0.41) and rb/ba(0.10-0.27)also suggest little or no effect of post magmatic *** TiO_2(0.27-0.50),Al_2O_3/TiO_2(19.30-42.48),CaO/TiO_2(12.96-32.52),and Ti/v(12-18) values indicate derivation from a depleted mantle source under oxidizing conditions such as a mantle *** vs Zr modeling shows that the studied high-Mg dykes were generated by25-30%melting of a refractory mantle *** of rb,Th,U,Pb,Sr,and LrEEs,and depletion of HFSEs—especially Nb,P,Ti,Zr—on primitive mantle—and chondrite-normalized spider diagrams,respectively,are clear signals that the slab-derived component played an important role in the formation of melts for these rocks in a supra-subduction zone setting.

Interaction between protokimberlite melts and mantle lithosphere:Evidence from mantle xenoliths from the Dalnyaya kimberlite pipe,Yakutia(russia)
