Exploring the potential of drill cuttings for reservoir characterization:A case study from the volga-Ural basin,Russia

The research objectives are to assess the possibility of using drill cutting analysis to obtain information about the mineralogical and geochemical properties of the reservoir *** cutting samples were collected from a vertical well that penetrated the Domanik sediments(Semiluksk Formation)in one of the oil fields in the volga-Ural petroleum *** sections from drill cuttings were examined using an optical polarizing microscope(Axio Imager A2).X-ray diffraction(XRD)analyses were performed using a Brucker D2 Phaser X-ray powder *** properties were studied using an STA 449 F3 Jupiter *** pyrolytic studies were performed using the Rock-Eval *** inspection showed that the studied sediments are alternations of carbonates and siliceous-carbonate *** section examinations revealed that the carbonates are mainly limestone(mudstone and wackestone)and are characterized by a dense texture and up to 30%organic *** siliceous-carbonate rocks are dominated by siliceous mudstones and are characterized by dark colours,layered structure,and an enrichment in organic *** analyses showed that the carbonate rocks are mainly composed of calcite,dolomite,quartz,feldspar,and mica,which are minor *** siliceous-carbonate rocks are dominated by quartz,followed by calcite,although they also contain feldspars,mica,dolomite,and pyrite as *** to the simultaneous thermal analysis,the average total hydrocarbon in the carbonate and siliceous-carbonate rocks is 13.6%(for the core samples)and 11.5%(for the drill cutting samples).The content of heavy hydrocarbons in the rocks is higher than the content of light hydrocarbons,indicating the immature nature of organic *** is found sporadically in siliceous-carbonate *** to the pyrolytic studies,average S1 is 4.4 mg/g and average S2 is 19.8 mg/g(for the core samples);average S1 is 2.1 mg/g and average S2 is 17.8 mg/g(for the

This study examines how perceived value of microfinance and exploratory innovation affect small and medium-sized enterprises(SME)performance in the context of a developing *** on the strategic innovation and microfinance literature,we hypothesize that(1)perceived value of microfinance affects exploratory innovation and SME performance,and(2)exploratory innovation serves as an effective mechanism through which microfinance enhances SME *** employ partial least squares structural equation modeling(PLS-SEM)to test our *** a sample of 581 Ghanaian SMEs with microfinance,the results of the PLS SEM support our *** further conducted a qualitative analysis of comments provided by the SMEs(n=144)to gain a deeper understanding of exploratory innovation in developing *** findings show that SMEs purposefully attempt to strengthen their exploratory inno-vation in *** discuss the theoretical and practical implications of these findings as well as future research avenues.

SIRS epidemic modeling using fractional-ordered differential equations:Role of fear effect

In this paper,an SIRS epidemic model using Grunwald-Letnikov fractional-order derivative is formulated with the help of a nonlinear system of fractional differential equations to analyze the effects of fear in the population during the outbreak of deadly infectious *** criteria for the spread or extinction of the disease are derived and discussed on the basis of the basic reproduction *** condition for the existence of Hopf bifurcation is discussed considering fractional order as a bifurcation ***,using the Grunwald-Letnikov approximation,the simulation is carried out to confirm the validity of analytic results *** the real data of CovID-19 in India recorded during the second wave from 15 May 2021 to 15 December 2021,we estimate the model parameters and find that the fractional-order model gives the closer forecast of the disease than the classical *** the analytical results and numerical simulations presented in this study suggest different policies for controlling or eradicating many infectious diseases.

Comparison of Perovskite Systems Based on AFeo_(3)(A=Ce,La,Y)in Co_(2) Hydrogenation to Co

Co_(2) is the most cost-eff ective and abundant carbon resource,while the reverse water-gas reaction(rWGS)is one of the most eff ective methods of Co_(2) *** work presents a comparative study of rWGS activity for perovskite systems based on AFeo_(3)(where A=Ce,La,Y).These systems were synthesized by solution combustion synthesis(SCS)with diff erent ratios of fuel(glycine)and oxidizer(φ),diff erent amounts of NH 4 No_(3),and the addition of alumina or silica as *** techniques,including X-ray diff raction analysis,thermogravimetric analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,N 2-physisorption,H_(2) temper-ature-programmed reduction,temperature-programmed desorption of H_(2) and Co_(2),Raman spectroscopy,and in situ FTIR,were used to relate the physicochemical properties with the catalytic performance of the obtained *** specifi c perovskite-containing system(either bulk or supported)has its own optimalφand NH_(4) No_(3) amount to achieve the highest yield and dispersion of the perovskite *** all synthesized systems,bulk SCS-derived La-Fe-o systems showed the highest resistance to reducing environments and the easiest hydrogen desorption,outperforming La-Fe-o produced by solgel combustion(SGC).Co_(2) conversion into Co at 600°C for bulk ferrite systems,depending on the A-cation type and preparation method,follows the order La(SGC)operties between La-Fe-o obtained by the SCS and SGC methods can be attributed to diff erent ratios of oxygen and lanthanum vacancy contributions,hydroxyl coverage,morphology,and free iron oxide *** situ FTIR data revealed that Co_(2) hydrogenation occurs through formates generated under reaction conditions on the bulk system based on La-Fe-o,obtained by the SCS method.γ-Al_(2)o_(3) improves the dispersion of CeFeo_(3) and LaFeo_(3) phases,the specifi c surface area,and the quant

Morphology of crater and caldera lakes in the Far Eastern region of Russia and the features of their development

Investigation of crack segmentation and fast evaluation of crack propagation, based on deep learning

Identifying crack and predicting crack propagation are critical processes for the risk assessment of engineering *** traditional approaches to crack modeling are faced with issues of high computational costs and excessive computing *** address this issue,we explore the potential of deep learning(DL)to increase the efficiency of crack detection and forecasting crack ***,there is no single algorithm that can fit all data sets well or can apply in all cases since specific tasks *** the paper,we present DL models for identifying cracks,especially on concrete surface images,and for predicting crack ***,SegNet and U-Net networks are used to identify concrete *** gradient descent(SGD)and adaptive moment estimation(Adam)algorithms are applied to minimize loss function during ***,time series algorithms including gated recurrent unit(GRU)and long short-term memory(LSTM)are used to predict crack *** experimental findings indicate that the U-Net is more robust and efficient than the SegNet for identifying crack segmentation and achieves the most outstanding *** evaluation of crack propagation,GRU and LSTM are used as DL models and results show good agreement with the experimental data.

Characterization of Depleted Hydrocarbon Reservoir AA-01 of KoKA Field in the Niger Delta Basin for Sustainable Sub-Sea Carbon Dioxide Storage

This study characterized the AA-01 depleted hydrocarbon reservoir in the KoKA field, Niger Delta, using a multidimensional approach. This investigation involved data validation analysis, evaluation of site suitability for Co_(2) storage, and compositional simulation of hydrocarbon components. The primary objective was to determine the initial components and behavior of the hydrocarbon system required to optimize the injection of Co_(2) and accompanying impurities, establishing a robust basis for subsequent sequestration efforts in the six wells in the depleted KoKA AA-01 reservoir. The process, simulated using industry software such as ECLIPSE, PvTi, SCAL, and Petrel, included a compositional fluid analysis to confirm the pressure volume temperature(PvT) hydrocarbon phases and components. This involved performing a material balance on the quality of the measured data and matching the initial reservoir pressure with the supplied data source. The compositional PvT analysis adopted the Peng–Robinson equation of state to model fluid flow in porous media and estimate the necessary number of phases and components to describe the system accurately. Results from this investigation indicate that the KoKA AA-01 reservoir is suitable for Co_(2)sequestration. This conclusion is based on the reservoir's good quality, evidenced by an average porosity of 0.21 and permeability of 1 111.0 mD, a measured lithological depth of 9 300 ft, and characteristic reservoir – seal properties correlated from well logs. The study confirmed that volumetric behavior predictions are directly linked to compositional behavior predictions, which are essential during reservoir initialization and data quality checks. Additionally, it highlighted that a safe design for Co_(2) storage relies on accurately representing multiphase behaviour across wide-ranging pressure–temperature–composition conditions.
