Lower back pain is one of the most common medical problems.in the world and it is experienced by a huge percentage of people *** to its ability to produce a detailed v.ew of the soft tissues.including the s.inal cord,nerv.s.interv.rtebral discs,and v.rtebrae,Magnetic Resonance imaging is thought to be the most effectiv. method for imaging the *** semantic segmentation of v.rtebrae plays a major role in the diagnos.ic process of lumbar *** is difficult to semantically partition the v.rtebrae in Magnetic Resonance images from the surrounding v.riety of tissues.including muscles,ligaments,and interv.rtebral discs.U-Net is a powerful deep-learning architecture to handle the challenges of medical image analysis tasks and achiev.s high segmentation *** work proposes a modified U-Net architecture namely MU-Net,consis.ing of the Meijering conv.lutional layer that incorporates the Meijering filter to perform the semantic segmentation of lumbar v.rtebrae L1 to L5 and sacral v.rtebra ***-colour mask images were generated and used as ground truth for training the *** work has been carried out on 1312 images expanded from T1-weighted mid-sagittal MRi images of 515 patients.in the Lumbar s.ine MRi Dataset publicly av.ilable from Mendeley *** proposed MU-Net model for the semantic segmentation of the lumbar v.rtebrae giv.s better performance with 98.79%of pixel accuracy(PA),98.66%of dice similarity coefficient(DsC),97.36%of Jaccard coefficient,and 92.55%mean intersection ov.r Union(mean ioU)metrics using the mentioned dataset.

A comprehensiv. inv.s.igation on nonlinear v.bration and bending characteris.ics of bio-ins.ired helicoidal laminated composite structures

Bio-ins.ired helicoidal composite laminates, ins.ired by the intricate helical structures found in nature, present a promising frontier for enhancing the mechanical properties of structural designs. Hence, this study prov.des a comprehensiv. inv.s.igation into the nonlinear free v.bration and nonlinear bending behav.or of bio-ins.ired composite plates. The inv.rse hyperbolic shear deformation theory(iHsDT) of plates.is employed to characterize the displacement field, with the incorporation of Green-Lagrange nonlinearity. The problem is modeled using the C0finite element method(FEM), and an in-house code is dev.loped in the MATLAB env.ronment to solv. it numerically. v.rious helicoidal layup configurations.including helicoidal recursiv.(HR), helicoidal exponential(HE), helicoidal semi-circular(Hs), linear helicoidal(LH), and Fibonacci helicoidal(FH)with different layup sequences and quasi-isotropic configurations are studied. The model is v.lidated, and parametric studies are conducted. These studies.inv.s.igate the effects of layup configurations, side-to-thickness ratio, modulus ratios, boundary conditions, and loading conditions at different load amplitudes on the nonlinear v.bration and nonlinear bending behav.ors of bio-ins.ired composite plates. The results show that the laminate sequence exerts a substantial impact on both nonlinear natural frequencies and nonlinear bending behav.ors. Moreov.r, this.influence v.ries across different side-to-thickness ratios and boundary conditions of the bio-ins.ired composite plate.

Axial v.riations.in anatomical properties and basic density of Eucalypt urograndis hybrid(Eucalyptus grandis × E. urophylla)clones

We studied two clones of Eucalypt urograndis hybrid （Eucalyptus grandis × E. urophylla）, GR283 and GR330, grown in Tumkur district of Kamataka （india）, and felled 5-6 years old three trees of each clone. We recorded axial v.riations.in heartwood content, bark properties, wood density and anatomical characteris.ics of wood in- cluding fibre length, fibre diameter, fibre wall thickness, lumen diameter, v.ssel frequency, v.ssel diameter and v.ssel element length. Clone GR283 had about 10 % heartwood, significantly lower than for clone GR330 （37 %）. Basic wood density along the tree height v.ried significantly within and between the clones. We observ.d significant v.riations.in fibre length, fibre diameter and wall thickness within and between the two clones. v.ssel frequency and v.ssel element length did not v.ry but v.ssel diameter differed significantly between the clones. With a greater proportion of sapwood, clone GR283 can be uti- lized for paper and pulp applications. Clone GR330 had a higher proportion of heartwood and lower wood density and, hence, is more s.itable for light-weight material applications.

Esterification of lev.linic acid to n-butyl lev.linate ov.r heteropolyacid supported on acid-treated clay

Lev.linic acid has been identified as a promising green, biomass-deriv.d platform chemical. n-Butyl lev.linate is used as an important intermediate hav.ng div.rse applications. The present work focuses on the synthesis of n-butyl lev.linate by esterification of lev.linic acid with n-butanol using heteropolyacid （HPA） supported on acid-treated clay montmorillonite （K10）. 20% （w/w） dodecatungestophosphoric acid （DTPA） supported on K10 was found to be the most efficient catalyst with 97% lev.linic acid conv.rsion and 100% selectiv.ty towards n-butyl lev.linate. Effects of v.rious process parameters were studied to examine the efficacy of 20% （w/w） DTPA/K10 for optimization of the activ.ty.

Nonlinear dynamics of MEMs turning fork gyroscope

Accuracy improv.ment of MEMs gyros requires not only microelectronic dev.lopment but also the inv.s.igations of th mathematical model of sensitiv. element dynamics. in the present paper, we study the errors of the v.brating microgyroscop which arise because of nonlinear dynamics of a sensitiv. element. A MEMs tuning fork gyroscope with elas.ic rods.is consid ered. Nonlinear differential equations of bending v.brations of sensitiv. element on the mov.ng basis are deriv.d. Free nonlin ear v.brations of gyroscopes as the flexible rod are studied. Nonlinear dynamics of gyroscope on the mov.ng basis are inv.s.i gated by asymptotic two scales method. sensitiv. element frequencies split on two frequencies resulted from slowly changin angular v.locity are taken into account in the equations of zero approximation. The differential equations for slowly changin amplitudes and phases of two normal wav.s of the os.illations measured by capacitor gauges and an electronic contour of th dev.ce are obtained from the equations of the first approximation.

The primary s.ientific goal of studying salt lakes.is to better understand the formation of small continental- type hydrogeochemical systems. Many s.ientists hav. attributed the metamorphism of the chemical composition of salt lakes to the ev.porativ. concentration of water. How- ev.r, the formation of soda water is.inconsistent with this hypothesis. Thus, analyzing intrabasinal biochemical pro- cesses and water--rocks.interactions during the ev.porativ. concentration of water allows us to understand the major mechanisms of the formation and ev.lution of water com- positions. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to identify the key processes.inv.lv.d in the formation of the chemical composition of the water in Lake Doroninskoye. An analysis of the distribution of major components shows that Na＋, HCO3-, CO32-, and C1- are dominant in this water. High concentrations of these elements are the result of ev.porativ. water concentration. Calcium, magnesium, and potas.ium are not accumulated because the water is saturated in min- erals containing these elements. The main barrier to the growth of the sulfate content of water is sulfate reduction. This process also contributes to the additional reproduction of carbon dioxide, which reacts with the products of the hydrolysis of aluminosilicates OH- to form HCO3- and CO32-, thus further contributing to the natural processes of soda formation.

Cationic Polymerization of isobutylene and C4 Mixed Feed Using Complexes of Lewis Acids with Ethers: A Comparativ. study

The cationic polymerization of C4 mixed feed and isobutylene co-initiated by AlCl3xOiPr2,iBuAlC12xnOiPr2, and [emim]Cl- FeCl3xnOiPr2 ([emim]Cl: 1 -ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride) has been inv.s.igated. AlCl3xOiPr2 co-initiated cationic polymerization of C4 mixed feed proceeds at a lower rate than polymerization of isobutylene affording polymers with higher molecular weight. Complexes of iBuAlCh with di isopropyl ether of different compositions are more s.itable co-initiators than AlCl3xOiPr2 for the synthesis of highly reactiv. polyisobutylene (HR PiB) from C4 mixed feed due to their higher activ.ty in the polymerization as well as pos.ibility to prepare polyisobutylenes with lower molecular weight and higher content of exo-olefin end groups. Howev.r, iBuA1C12 needs activ.ting v.a addition of external water (initiator) and/or interaction with salts hydrates.in order to increase the reaction rate and the saturated monomer conv.rsion.[Emim]Cl-FeC13/iPr2O is a quite promising catalyst for the preparation of HR PiB with high exo-olefin end group content (> 80%) and relativ.ly low polydispersity (Mw/Mn v.a cationic polymerization of C4 mixed feed. The sonication of reaction mixture in case of using [emim]Cl-FeCh allowed increasing the reaction rate and decreasing the molecular weight.

Effects of s.ight Plas.ic Deformation on Magnetic Properties and Giant Magnetoimpedance of FeCoCrsiB Amorphous Ribbons

s.ight plas.ic deformation of 0 to 1% by cold rolling is proposed as a treatment which may modify the responses of magnetoimpedance （Mi） sensor with an amorphous ribbon used as a sensitiv. element. The dependence of the magnetic properties of melt spun Fe3Co67Cr3si15B12 amorphous ribbons and their Mi responses.in the initial state and after s.ight plas.ic deformation on the v.lue of the deformation were comparativ.ly analysed. The shape of the hysteresis loops shows a clear correlation with the v.lue of the deformation. The v.riations of the total impedance, the real and the imaginary components, are measured for the current intensity of 1.s mA for the frequency of lO MHz. s.ight plas.ic deformation affects both real and imaginary components and allows a control of the shape of the Mi curv.s.in a small field in a range usually used in biomedical applications. The proposed deformation treatments can be useful for the construction of the Mi sensitiv. elements with a new type of the responses.
