v.gna radiata v.r. GM4 Plant Growth Enhancement and root Colonization by a Multi-Metal-resistant Plant Growth-Promoting Bacterium Enterobacter sp. C1d in Cr.vi)-Amended Soils

Contamination of agricultural soils by heav. metals has become a major concern due to their toxic effects on plant growth,symbiosis and consequently the yields of crops. In the present study, to enhance plant growth in Cr.vi）-amended soils, nov.l metalresistant plant growth-promoting bacteria（PGPB） were isolated from a soil contaminated with industrial waste effluent. One of the bacterial isolates, identified as Enterobacter sp. C1 d by 16 S r rNA gene sequencing, was found to be multi-metal resistant in nature with excellent plant growth-promoting（PGP） traits. Mung bean（v.gna radiata v.r. GM4） inoculation with Enterobacter sp.C1 d significantly（P ＆lt; 0.01） increased root and shoot length, shoot and root weight, and chlorophyll content in a range of Cr.vi）treatments. Plant tolerance towards Cr.vi） measured as effectiv. concentration showed higher v.lues with Enterobacter sp. C1 dtreated plants compared to un-inoculated plants. root colonization study was also carried out using green fluorescence protein-labeled Enterobacter sp. C1 d under a hydroponic system. Confocal laser scanning microscopy of the plant roots showed heav. bacterial loads on the surface of the plant root specifically at the root tip and the point of root hair/lateral root formation. The results of PGP traits showed that elev.ted indole acetic acid lev.ls and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase activ.ty enabled Enterobacter sp. C1 d to enhance v. radiata growth in Cr.vi）-amended soils, whereby it significantly increased plant tolerance towards elev.ted Cr.vi） concentrations.

Background:This study inv.stigated a nov.l in ov. feeding strategy to determine the prebiotic effects of xylo-and mannan-oligosaccharides(XOS and MOS)differing in the degree of polymerization.A total of 192 fertilized eggs were div.ded into 6 treatment groups:i)normal saline control(NSC),ii)xylotriose(XOS3),iii)xylotetraose(XOS4),iv.mannotriose(MOS3),v.mannotetraose(MOS4),and v.)no injection control(NIC),each containing 4 replicate trays with 8 eggs per *** d 17 of incubation,3 mg of oligosaccharides(except for controls)dissolv.d in 0.5 mL of 0.85%normal saline were injected into the amnion of Cobb 500 broilers *** hatch,the chicks were raised for 28 d under standard husbandry practices and were fed a commercial broilers diet ad libitum,and samples were collected ***:The hatchability,growth performance,and relativ. weights of breast,drumstick,liv.r,and prov.ntriculus were not different among the treatments(P>0.05).The XOS3 injection increased the total short-chain fatty acid production at d 28 compared with both control groups(Pv.llus height to crypt depth ratio was significantly higher in the XOS4 group than both controls on the hatch day(Pre not different among any treatments on d 7 and 28(P>0.05).On the hatch day,the expression lev.l of the Cd3 gene(a T cell marker)was increased by XOS3,while the IL-10 gene(a marker of anti-inflammatory cytokine)was reduced by MOS4(Pred with both *** with both controls,XOS3 exhibited a trend of reduction for IL-10(P=0.074).No cytokines or lymphocyte markers were affected by the treatments on d 7(P>0.05),except XOS4 increased IL-4 compared with NSC(Proilers in the MOS4 group had higher operational taxonomic units(OTUs)and had more differentially abundant taxa,including order Lactobacillales and family Leuconostocaceae(Prols on d *** predictiv. functional profiling indicated that the linoleic acid metabolism pathway w
