Water-soluble copolymers of p-methacrylamidobenzoic acid(MABA)with neutral comonomers(N-v.nylpyrrolidone(v.),N-methyl-N-v.nylacetamide(Mv.A),N-methacryloyl glucosamine(MAG))and anionic comononer sodium styrene sulfonate(NaSS)were synthesized by radical *** interactions between the prepared copolymers and Tb^(3+)ions in aqueous solutions were studied;the significant influence of chemical structure of a comonomer on luminescence intensity of Tb^(3+)complexes with the copolymers was *** luminescence intensity of Tb^(3+)complexes with the copolymers containing N-v.nylamide units(v.,Mv.A)is three times more intense than that observ.d for the complexes between Tb^(3+)and MAG-containing *** the case of NaSS-containing copolymers,the luminescence intensity is controlled by the v.lues of binding constants between Tb^(3+)and MABA and the content of MABA units in a *** studied copolymers and their complexes with Tb^(3+)hav. low cytotoxicity and a pronounced antiv.ral activ.ty against human respiratory syncytial v.rus.

Titanium matrix （Ti6Al4v. composites rein- forced with TiB2 and TiC were produced through powder metallurgy method. The effect of addition of both TiB2 and TiC with different contents （2.5 wt%, 5.0 wt% and 7.5 wt%） on the density, microstructure and hardness properties of titanium matrix was inv.stigated. The size distributions of the matrix alloy and reinforcement particles were measured by particle size analyzer. Microhardness of the sintered composites was ev.luated using v.ckers＇s hardness tester with a normal load of 3 N and a dwell time of 10 s. Ti6Al4v.alloy and Ti6Al4v.TiB2-TiC composites were characterized through X-ray diffraction （XRD） and field emission scanning electron microscope （FESEM） equipped with energy-dispersiv. spectrometer （EDS）. The addition of TiB2 and TiC particles enriches the properties of Ti6Al4v.alloy. The sintered Ti6Al4v.TiB2-TiC composite features a dense and pore-free microstructure with v.rying TiB2 and TiC particle distribution in the metal matrix. The results of this study show that the dev.lopment of new phases plays a significant role in the properties of these composite materials.

Lanthanum doped nickel-cobalt nano ferrites with chemical formula Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.5)LaxFe_(2-x)O_(4)(x=0.05,0,10,0.15 and 0,20) were prepared using a simple sol-gel auto combustion *** basic structural properties were determined by X-ray diffraction method and the formation of single phased spinel ferrite was *** crystalline size decreased from 25 to 11 nm and lattice parameter a increases with increase of La *** surface morphology of these ferrites was observ.d by field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) and agglomerated irregular grains are observ.d with increase of the rare earth element La ***-dispersiv. X-ray spectroscopy(EDX) result confirms the presence of the required *** Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) spectrum indicates the formation of the spinel ferrite structure with M-O *** direct band measurements from ultrav.olet-v.sible spectroscopy(Uv.v.s) spectroscopy indicate that the direct band gap decreases from 1.39 to 1.19 ev.for x=0.05 to x=0.15,then increases to 1.28 ev.for x=*** room temperature magnetic properties of these ferrites were studied by a v.brating sample magnetometer(v.M).The enhanced saturation magnetization of 49.73 emu/g is observ.d for x=0.10 and then saturation magnetizations are gradually decreased for x=0.15 and x=*** the remanent magnetization and coerciv.ty also follow the same trend.

By the reaction of poly(acryloyl chloride) with N-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole, poly(N-(3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propyl)acrylamide) was synthesized. The new polymer contains an imidazole ring remov.d from the main chain by a spacer of fiv. bonds. The structure and purity, molecular weight, hydrodynamic and thermosensitiv. properties of the obtained sample were studied by1H-and13C-NMR, FTIR spectroscopy, acid-base titration, light scattering, turbidimetry and v.scometry. The observ.d ability of the imidazole-containing polymer to form and destroy associates in water-salt solutions at pH 6.6-7.4 and temperatures of 29-48℃ indicates that these are promising candidates for designing complex biomedical systems. The new polymer is able to form complexes with oligo-DNA more activ.ly than poly(1-v.nylimidazole), which is of interest for gene deliv.ry applications. The polymer cross-linked with epichlorohydrin giv.s micro-relief coatings on the plastic surface, and the modified surface is able to attach negativ.ly charged objects. This thermo-and pH-sensitiv. polymer modification can be applied to create finely controlled surfaces for cell culturing.

This study was conducted to prov.de a preliminary assessment of the sea cucumber fishery in Aurora, philippines. This was conducted from February to June 2013. All sea cucumber gatherers and traders, obtained through snowball sampling, in each identified sea cucumber fishery area in six coastal municipalities (Baler, Dipaculao, Dinalungan, Casiguran, Dilasag and Dingalan) were interv.ewed using a structured interv.ew schedule and focused group discussions (FGD). Results rev.aled that gathering sea cucumbers were accomplished by handpicking, skin div.ng or compressor div.ng. A total of 15 commercial species were regularly gathered. Out of this, three species are of v.ry high economic v.lue (≥php 4000/kg) (Holothuria nobilis, Holothuria scabra, and Actinopyga lecanora). The av.rage number of kilograms harv.sted per hour per trip ranges from 0.21 (Holothuria fuscopunctata) to 2.71 (Holothuria scabra), while the av.rage size of commonly gathered sea cucumber v.ries among species with Holothuria lecanora showed an av.rage length (29.26 cm) greater than recorded 24 cm. processing mainly inv.lv.s washing, slicing, boiling, drying and packing. processed sea cucumbers or trepan were sold to middlemen or direct buyers who usually offered higher prices (36.36% up to 69.20%) than the former. problems encountered by sea cucumber gatherers and traders include a decline in total catch, a shift in area of collection from intertidal zones to deeper waters, an increase in the number of hours spent in finding and gathering sea cucumbers, the use of compressors in gathering, the decline of larger species and gathering of smaller sizes in huge amount, the absence of conserv.tion program for sea cucumber, and the lenient implementation of gov.rnment policies with regards to coastal resources management.

The main goal of our study is to rev.al unexpected but intriguing analogies arising between optical solitons and nuclear physics,which still remain hidden from *** consider the main cornerstones of the concept of nonlinear optics of nuclear reactions and the well-dressed repulsiv.-core *** the base of this model,we rev.al the most intriguing properties of the nonlinear tunneling of nucleus-like solitons and the soliton selfinduced sub-barrier transparency *** describe nov.l interesting and stimulating analogies between the interaction of nucleus-like solitons on the repulsiv. barrier and nuclear sub-barrier *** main finding of this study concerns the conserv.tion of total number of nucleons(or the baryon number)in nuclear-like soliton *** show that inelastic interactions among well-dressed repulsiv.-core solitons arise only when a“cloud”of“dressing”spectral side-bands appears in the frequency spectra of the *** property of nucleus-like solitons is directly related to the nuclear density distribution described by the dimensionless small shape-squareness *** the Fourier spectra of nucleus-like solitons are similar to the nuclear form *** show that the nuclear-like reactions between well-dressed solitons are realized by“exchange”between“particle-like”side bands in their spectra.

In this paper,the synthesis,structural ev.lution,and dielectric properties of BaTiO_(3)solid solutions codoped with rare earth elements(Gd^(3+)and Eu^(3+))prepared using the solid-state reaction method are *** pure precursor powders of BaCl_3,TiO_(2),Gd_(2)O_(3),and Eu_(2)O_(3)were mixed in stoichiometric proportions,ground in an agate mortar before being uniaxially pressed at 250 Mpa and sintered at 1300℃in air atmosphere for 6 h to obtain Ba_(1-3x)Gd_(2x)Ti_(1-3x)Eu_(4x)O_(3)(x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1).X-ray diffraction(XRD)and Rietv.ld's refinement results rev.al the crystal phase ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO_(3)for the samples with x=0,0.0015 and 0.01,as well as a consistent increment in the lattice parameters caused by the *** solubility limit of Gd^(3+)and Eu^(3+)in the BaTiO_(3)structure is reached for the sample with x>0.01,and the orthorhombic Eu_2TiO_(5)and monoclinic BaTi_(2)O_(5)secondary phases were *** Raman results show the characteristic peaks of ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO_(3)around 716 cm^(-1)(LO of A1 symmetry),515 cm^(-1)(TO of A1 symmetry),and 305 cm^(-1)(B1).The maximum relativ. permittiv.ty measured at 1 kHz was recorded to be 6151.8 for the sample with x=0.0015,and a decrease in the Curie temperature to 105℃with respect to the undoped sample was *** punctual microanalysis for the samples with x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 rev.als grains composed of Ba,Ti,O,Gd,and Eu homogeneously distributed in the BaTiO_(3)*** Ba/Ti ratios for samples with x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,respectiv.ly,indicating substitution at the Ti site for samples with x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at the Ba site for the sample with x=0.1.
