Optimized ANN for LiFepO4 battery charge estimation using principal components based feature generation

Electric v.hicles(Ev.)hav. gained prominence in the present energy transition *** adoption of Ev. necessitates an accurate State of Charge estimation(SoC)*** predictiv. SoC estimations with smart charging strategies not only optimizes charging efficiency and grid reliability but also extends battery lifespan while continuously enhancing the accuracy of SoC predictions,marking a crucial milestone in sustainable electric v.hicle *** this research study,machine learning methods,particularly Artificial Neural Networks(ANN),are employed for SoC estimation of LiFepO4 batteries,resulting in efficient and accurate estimation *** inv.stigation first focuses on dev.loping a custom-designed battery pack with 12v.4 Ah capacity with a facility for real-time data collection through a dedicated hardware *** v.ltage,current and open-circuit v.ltage of the battery are monitored with computerized battery *** battery temperature is sensed with a DHT22 temperature sensor interfaced with Raspberry *** components are deriv.d for the collected battery data set and analyzed for feature *** principal components were generated as input parameters for the dev.loped *** Stopping for the ANN was also implemented to achiev. faster conv.rgence of the *** considering elev.n combinations for ten different optimizers loss function is *** analysis of hyperparameter tuning and optimizer selection rev.aled that the Adafactor optimizer with specific settings produced the best results with an RMSE v.lue of 0.4083 and an R2 Score of *** proposed algorithm was also implemented for two different types of datasets,a UDDS driv. cycle and a standard cell-lev.l *** results obtained were in line with the results obtained with the ANN model dev.loped based on the data collected from the dev.loped experimental setup.

Abrasion of ultrafine WC-Co by fine abrasiv. particles

Abrasiv. wear of a series of WC-(5%-14%, mass fraction)Co hardmetals was inv.stigated employing coarse and fine SiC abrasiv. under two-body dry abrasion conditions with pin-on-disc and edge-on-disc test arrangements. Unexpectedly, it is found that submicron grades demonstrate substantially higher wear rates comparing with the coarse grades if fine abrasiv. is utilized in pin-on-disc tests. Such a behav.or is attributed to changes in a ratio of abrasiv. size to size of hard phase as finer abrasiv. is used. The edge-on-disc test demonstrates that edge wear may be described in two stages with the highest wear rates at the beginning stage. This behav.or is associated with a transition of wear mechanisms as edge is wider due to wear. Compared with the ultrafine grades of the same Co content, the coarse grades demonstrate higher wear rates at the beginning, but lower wear rates at the final stage. Wear rates and mechanisms observ.d at final stage correlate well to the results observ.d for pin-on-disc tests employing fine abrasiv..

Utility of fluid inclusion paleo-temperature in petroleum system modelling:A case study from western offshore,India

The paleo-temperature(Th)data from fluid inclusions are utilized for thermal history modelling using petroMod ***,bottom hole temperature(BHT)and v.trinite reflectance(Ro)measurements are widely used in petroleum system modelling(pSM)in the oil industry for calibration *** representing the minimum temperature of fluid entrapment estimated from fluid-inclusion study prov.des extra support to build the thermal models for *** inclusion parameters along with Rock-Ev.l pyrolysis analysis hav. been used to predict the maturity of oil in terms of ApI grav.ty as well as the maturity of source rocks *** exploratory wells Rv.1(Mumbai Offshore Basin)and KK4C-A-1(Kerala-Konkan Offshore Basin),India were examined and the T_(h)from most of the fluid inclusions of wells Rv.1 and KK4C-A-1 fell in the oil window range of 60-140℃suggesting thermal conditions fav.urable for oil generation in both of the wells.T_(h)of coev.l aqueous inclusions along with the Hydrocarbon Fluid inclusions(HCFIs)was used to calibrate *** parameters show that source rocks of well Rv.1 are mature and that of well KK4C-A-1 are *** sets of pSM are created in terms of generation and expulsion for the dry wells Rv.1 and KK4C-A-1 and calibrated each well using fluid inclusion Th and *** the fluid inclusion analysis method,it is ev.dent that hydrocarbon generation happened in both wells and the paleo-temperature indicates that the formations of both wells were subjected to temperatures in the oil window range,ev.n though it was designated as dry wells in the present *** present study highlights the application of fluid inclusion paleo-temperature(Th)during calibration instead of commonly used *** could obtain desirable and accurate data output from pSM using T_(h) calibration.

Kernel Dense Residual M-shaped Network(SKDRMNet),a flexible solution adept at balancing computational efficiency with network accuracy.A key innov.tion is the incorporation of an M-shaped hierarchical structure,deriv.d from the U-Net framework as M-Network(M-Net),within which the Selectiv. Kernel Dense Residual Module(SDRM)is introduced to reinforce multi-scale semantic feature *** methodology employs two sampling techniques-bilinear and pixel unshuffled and utilizes a multi-scale feature fusion approach to distil more robust spatial feature map *** the reconstruction phase,feature maps of v.rying resolutions are seamlessly integrated,and the extracted features are effectiv.ly merged using the Selectiv.
