p.asma-Chemical Synthesis of Oxide p.wders Using Transformer-Coup.ed Discharge

An exp.rimental inv.stigation of transformer-coup.ed discharge in an Ar-O2 mixture with the addition of SICl4, TiCl4 and ZrCl4 has been carried out under the atmosp.eric p.essure of p.asma-forming gases. Discharge p.wer and discharge heat losses hav. been determined, and the disp.rsion and p.ase comp.sition of reaction p.oducts （oxide p.wders） has been analyzed with SEM and X-ray diffraction analysis. Inv.stigations rev.al the formation of ultrafine oxide p.wders in the case of v.p.rized chloride （SiCl4 and TiCl4） injecting into the transformer coup.ed discharge. In the case of fine p.wder （ZrCl4） injection, full oxidation was not observ.d and reaction p.oducts consisted of a mixture of ZrO2 and ZrOCl2. A conclusion has been made regarding the p.rsp.ctiv.s of using transformer-coup.ed discharge to p.oduce ultrafine oxide p.wders.

This study assessed the effect of p.tch scarification and mounding on the p.ysical p.op.rties of the root layer and the success of tree p.anting in v.rious typ.s of *** study was conducted on 12 forest sites in taiga forests of the Europ.an p.rt of Russia.A total of 54 p.ots were set up.to assess seedling surv.v.l;root collar diameter,height,and heigh increment were measured for 240 seedlings to assess *** the rooting layer,240 soil samp.es were taken to determine p.ysical *** study showed that soil treatment methods had no effect on bulk density and total p.rosity in Cladina ***,reduced soil moisture was noted,p.rticularly in mounds,resulting in increased *** Myrtillus sites,there were increased bulk density,reduced soil moisture,and total p.rosity in the *** treatment in p.lytrichum sites resulted in reduced soil moisture and increased aeration *** the Myrtillus and p.lytrichum sites,p.tch scarification had no effects on p.ysical *** p.lytrichum sites,surv.v.l rates,heights,and heigh increments of bareroot Norway sp.uce seedlings in mounds were higher than in p.tches;howev.r,the same did not ap.ly to *** Cladina and Myrtillus sites,there was no difference in growth for bareroot and containerised seedlings with different soil *** conditions and soil typ.s should be considered when ap.lying different soil treatment methods to ensure high surv.v.l rates and successful seedling growth.

Extractability and mobility of Cu and Zn and their relationship. with 1) accumulation of Cu and Zn and 2) soil p. were studied in three sandy soils (Wabasso, Ankona, and Winder) from commercial citrus grov.s in Florida, USA. The soils, with a broad range of Cu and Zn concentrations, were fractionated by a modified p.ocedure of Amacher, while Cu and Zn mobility were ev.luated using column leaching. The extractability of Cu and Zn increased with decreasing soil p.. Also with increasing total soil Cu and Zn for extractable Cu in the Wabasso sand a threshold lev.l, where the metal extraction rate increased, was noted at 100 mg kg-1, whereas for extractable Zn in the Wabasso sand the threshold lev.l was found at 60 mg kg-1 and in the Ankona sand at 120 mg kg-1. These results suggested that the release p.tential of Cu and Zn was greater in the Wabasso sand than in the Ankona sand. The column leaching exp.riment showed that at total soil Cu or Zn concentrations v.r at total concentrations > 200 mg kg-1 for Cu and > 150 mg kg-1 for Zn with decreasing soil p., the concentrations of both Cu and Zn in the leachates increased exp.nentially. Also in these sandy soils soluble Cu and Zn mainly originated from the exchangeable fractions, and p. was a key factor controlling Cu and Zn extractability and mobility.

The aim of the p.esent research is to identify the main mechanisms of sulfur behav.or in saline lakes in the course of time and followed transformations in their chemical comp.sition. The influence of water on chemical comp.sition of biochemical p.ocesses inv.lv.d in decomp.sition of organic matter was determined by the study of behav.or of reduced forms of sulfur in lakes. The determination of reduced forms of sulfur was carried out by successiv. transfer of each form of sulfur to hydrogen sulfide followed by p.otometric measurements. The other chemical comp.nents were determined by standard methods(atomic absorp.ion, p.tentiometric method, titration method and others). The salt lakes of the Altai step.e were studied in summer season 2013–2015. Analysis of the chemical comp.sition of the saline lakes of Altai Krai has shown that carbonate-, hydrocarbonate-and chloride ions dominate among anions; sodium is main cation; sulfates are found in subordinate amounts. Reduced forms of sulfur occur ev.rywhere: hydrogen and hydrosulfide sulfur S^(2-) p.ev.il in the bottom sediments; its deriv.tiv.—elemental S^0—p.ev.ils in the lakes water. The second imp.rtant sp.cies in water of soda lakes is hydrosulfide sulfur S^(2-), and in chloride lakes is thiosulfate sulfur S_2O_2^(3ˉ). The lag in the accumulation of sulfates in soda lakes in comp.rison to chloride lakes can be exp.ained by their bacterial reduction, followed by the formation and dep.sition of iron sulfides in sediments. In chloride lakes gyp.um is a p.edominantly barrier for sulfates.
