The n.il plate forms a barrier that limits the effectiv.n.ss of drug deliv.ry in.the treatmen. of n.il diseases an. prev.n.s the outflow of fluid in.the case of subun.ual hematoma formation. microperforation.of the n.il plate through laser radiation.can.in.rease the effectiv.n.ss of drug deliv.ry an. en.ure the possibility of blood outflow. This study detected an. iden.ified the type an. threshold of effects that arise from exposin. the n.il plate to yb,Er： Glass （λ = 1.54 μm） an. Er：yLF （λ= 2.81 μm） laser radiation. The rate an. efficien.y of n.il plate ablation.by the radiation.of these lasers were studied. The effect of the storage time of a freshly extracted n.il plate in.open.air on.its ablation.rate by Er：yLF （ λ=2.81 μm） laser radiation.was also in.0}stigated. The impact of the yb,Er：Glass an. Er：yLF laser pulses on.the n.il plate caused bleachin., carbon.zation. ablation.with microcrater formation. an. microperforation. The laser en.rgy den.ities WE （thresholds） required for these effects were determin.d. The maximum ablation.rate for yb,Er：Glass laser radiation.was 8 μm/pulse at WE = 91 ±2 J/cm2, whereas that for Er：yLF laser radiation.was 12 μm/ pulse at WE= 10.5＋0.5 J/cm2. The maximum ablation.efficien.y for yb,Er：Glass laser radiation.was 0.1 μm/mJ at Ws = 10.5±0.5 J/cm2, whereas that for Er：yLF laser radiation.was 4.6 μm/mJ at WE = 5.3±0.3 J/cm2. The laser ablation.rate depen.s on.the storage time an. con.ition. of the freshly extracted n.il plate. For example, when.exposed to Er：yLF laser radiation. the laser ablation.rate decreased by half from the in.tial maximum v.lue in.96 h of air storage an. return.d to the in.tial v.lue after 1 h of storage in.distilled water.

We determin.d whether the in.lusion.of 100 g/kg dry.matter of grape pomace silage (GPS) an. grape pomace bran.(GPB) as substitutes for other tradition.l fiber sources in.the diet of steers (Charolais x n.llore) would improv. carcass characteristics, meat quality an. composition. an. shelf life. Twen.y-four an.mals (248 ± 19.32 kg of in.tial body weight) were fed a high con.en.rate diet for 121 days. Carcass characteristics were measured, an. the lon.issimus dorsi muscle was an.lyzed for fatty acid (FA) profile an. composition. The meat was sliced an. stored in.air-permeable packages for 10 days. On.each samplin. day (d 1, 3, 7, an. 10), oxidativ. stability, bacterial load, lipid an. protein.oxidation. an. stain.n. were an.lyzed. The experimen.al diets in.luen.ed the pH of cold carcasses on.y. The GPS group had a higher pH than.the con.rol. The GPS an. GPB groups showed improv.d oxidan. status (i.e., lower lipid peroxidation.an. con.en.ration. of reactiv. oxygen.species were in.the meat of both groups than.in.con.rol). On.the first day of storage, the an.ioxidan. en.yme glutathion. S-tran.ferase activ.ty was more sign.fican. in.the meat of the GPS an. GPB groups than.in.the con.rol. The bacterial loads in.the meat were atten.ated by GPS in.lusion.there were lower total coliform coun.s an. a tren. toward lower coun.s for en.erobacteria in.the con.rol group. The diets altered the FA profile of the meat;i.e., the GPB diet allowed for a more sign.fican. amoun. of the n.6 omegas in.the meat, while the GPS diet showed a ten.en.y for a more sign.fican. amoun. of n.6 an. 9 omegas. Both diets (GPS an. GPB) in.reased the amoun.s of lon.-chain.FAs. The GPS diet decreased saturated FA lev.ls. We con.lude that the dietary treatmen.s GPS an. Rain.ater characteristics can.rev.al emission. from v.rious an.hropogen.c an. n.tural sources in.o the atmosphere. The physico-chemical characteristics of 44 mon.hly rain.all ev.n.s （collected between.Jan.ary an. December 2012） from 4 weather station. （Bamen.a, n.op plain. n.awara an. Kumbo） in.the Bamen.a Highlan.s （BH） were in.0}stigated. The purpose was to determin. the sources of chemical species, their season.l in.uts an. suitability of the rain.ater for drin.in.. The mean.pH of 5 in.icated the slightly acidic n.ture of the rain.ater. Av.rage total dissolv.d solids （TDS） were low （6.7 mg/L）, characteristic of un.olluted atmospheric moisture/air. major ion.con.en.ration. （mg/L） were low an. in.the order K＋〉 Ca2＋〉 mg2~ 〉 n.＋ for cation. an. n.3 〉〉 HCO3 〉 SO] 〉 CI- 〉 PO3- 〉 F- for an.on.. The av.rage rain.ater in.the area was mixed Ca-mg-SO4-CI water type. The CI-/n.＋ ratio （1.04） was comparable to that of seawater （1.16）, an.in.ication.that n.a＋ an. CI origin.ted main.y from marin. （Atlan.ic Ocean. aerosols. High en.ichmen.s of Ca2＋, mg2＋ an. SO2- to n.＋ ratios relativ. to seawater ratios （con.titutin. 44% of the total ion.） demon.trated their terrigen.us origin. main.y from Saharan.an. Sahelian.arid dusts. The K＋/n.＋ ratio （2.24）, which was similar to tropical v.getation.ash （2.38）, an. n.3 was essen.ially from biomass burn.n.. Light （〈 100 mm） pre-mon.oon.an. post-mon.oon.con.0}ctiv. rain. were en.iched in.major ion. than.the heav. （〉 100 mm） mon.oon.rain., in.icatin. a high con.ribution.of major ion. durin. the low con.0}ctiv. showers. Despite the acidic n.ture, the TDS an. major ion.con.en.ration. classified the rain.ater as potable based on.the WHO guidelin.s.

This paper outlin.s the results of experimen.al study of the dyn.mic rock failure based on.the comparison.of dry an. saturated limeston. samples obtain.d durin. the dyn.mic compression.an. split tests. The tests were performed usin. the Kolsky.method an. its modification. for dyn.mic splittin.. The mechan.cal data(e.g. stren.th, time an. en.rgy characteristics) of this material at high strain.rates are obtain.d. It is shown.that these characteristics are sen.itiv. to the strain.rate. A un.fied in.erpretation.of these rate effects, based on.the structuraletemporal approach, is hereby presen.ed. It is demon.trated that the temporal depen.en.e of the dyn.mic compressiv. an. split ten.ile stren.ths of dry an. saturated limeston. samples can.be predicted by the in.ubation.time criterion. Prev.ously discov.red possibilities to optimize(min.mize) the en.rgy in.ut for the failure process is discussed in.con.ection.with in.ustrial rock failure processes. It is shown.that the optimal en.rgy in.ut v.lue associated with critical load, which is required to in.tialize failure in.the rock media, stron.ly depen.s on.the in.ubation.time an. the impact duration. The optimal load shapes, which min.mize the momen.um for a sin.le failure impact, are demon.trated. Through this in.1}stigation. a possible approach to reduce the specific en.rgy required for rock cuttin. by.mean. of high-frequen.y v.bration. is also discussed.

It is con.luded that the observ.d season.l v.riation. are best described by a breather fun.tion.which is on. of the solution. of the well-kn.wn.sin.-Gordon.equation. The obtain.d results suggest that, in.this case, the source of season.l v.riation. may be caused by the appearan.e of solitary strain.wav.s in.the fault in.ersection.system, which may be qualitativ.ly treated as stan.in. wav.s of compression.exten.ion.of the geological medium. Based on.statistical testin., the limits of applicability of the suggested model hav. been.established.

The An.aman.an. n.cobar Islan.s are on. of the Un.on.Territories of In.ia, located in.the eastern.part of the Bay of Ben.al. In.2010 summer, the in.remen. in.sea surface water temperature （up to 34℃） resulted in.the bleachin. of about 74% to 77% of corals in.the South An.aman. Durin. this ev.n., coral species such as Acropora cerealis, A. humilis, mon.ipora sp., Fav.a paIlida, Diploastrea sp., Gon.opora sp. Fun.ia con.in.a, Gardin.roseries sp., Porites sp., Fav.tes abdita an. Lobophyllia robusta were sev.rely affected. This study is to assess the recov.ry status of the reef ecosystem by estimatin. the percen.age of Liv. Coral cov.r, Bleached coral cov.r, Dead coral with algae, Rubble, San.y fiat, Algal assemblage an. other associated organ.sms, The sedimen.ation.rate （mg cm^-2 d^-1） an. coral cov.rage （%） were assessed durin. this study period. The av.rage sedimen.ation.rate was ran.ed between.0.27 an. 0.89 mg cm^-2 d^1. The observ.d post bleachin. recov.ry of coral cov.r was 21.1% at Port Blair Bay an. 13.29% at Hav.lock Islan.. The mortality rate of coral cov.r due to this bleachin. was estimated as 2.05% at Port Blair Bay an. 9.82% at Hav.lock Islan.. On.e the sea water temperature resumed back to the n.rmal con.ition. most of the corals were foun. recov.red.

The cytotoxicity effects of the UCn. surface-coatin. an. polystyren. host were in.0}stigated ov.r the con.en.ration.ran.e 62.5-125 μg/mL with 24-h in.ubation. usin. a mTT test an. optical microscopy. The fibroblast v.ability was n.t compromised by UCn.s, whereas the v.ability of keratin.cytes v.ried from 52% ± 4% to 100% ± 10% than.the con.rol group, depen.in. on.the surface modification. Bare UCn.s reduced the keratin.cyte v.ability to 76% ± 3%, while exhibitin. profoun. n.n.specific cellular uptake. The v.ctorin. of the en.omopathogen.c fun.us Beauv.ria bassian. durin. the adhesion.stage by ectoparasitoid females amon. the wax moth larv.e Galleria mellon.lla was explored un.er laboratory con.ition.. v.ctorin. occurred both from in.ected parasitoids to wax moth larv.e an. from in.ected to healthy wax moth larv.e by parasitoids. The efficacy of v.ctorin. in.both cases was dose depen.en.. Parasitoid females were un.ble to recogn.ze in.ected larv.e in.a labyrin.h test.
