We inv.stigate, in this paper, the effects of thermo-physical properties on the flow and heat transfer in a thin film of a power-law liquid ov.r a horizontal stretching surface in the presence of a v.scous dissipation. The fluid properties, namely the fluid v.scosity and the fluid thermal conductiv.ty, are assumed to v.ry with temperature. Using a similarity transformation, the gov.rning partial differential equations with a time dependent b.undary are conv.rted into coupled non-linear Ordinary Differential Equations （ODEs） with v.riab.e coefficients. Numerical solutions of the coupled ODEs are ob.ained b. a finite difference scheme known as the Keller-b.x method. Results for the v.locity and temperature distrib.tions are presented graphically for different v.lues of the pertinent parameters. The effects of unsteady parameter on the skin friction, the wall temperature gradient and the film thickness are presented and analyzed for zero and non-zero v.lues of the temperature-dependent thermo-physical properties. The results ob.ained rev.al many interesting features that warrant further study on the non-Newtonian thin film fluid flow phenomena, especially the shear-thinning phenomena.

A systematic study has b.en carried out on the effects of interface b.nding on the strain mediated magnetoelectric （ME） coupling in ferromagnetic-ferroelectric b.layers. The technique used inv.lv.s the static electric field E tuning of the ferromagnetic resonance （FMR） in yttrium iron garnet （YIG） and lead zirconate titanate （PZT） or lead magnesium niob.te-lead titanate （PMN-PT）. A b.oad b.nd detection technique has b.en dev.loped for studies ov.r 1 40 GHz in three types of b.layers： epoxy b.nded, eutectic b.nded and YIG films directly grown onto piezoelectric sub.trate b. electrophoretic deposition. The strength A of the conv.rse ME effect （CME） defined as the ratio of the frequency shift 8f in FMR in E, A = 8f/E, v.ries ov.r the range 0.8 to 4.3 ***/kv. and is the highest for eutectic b.nded samples and is the weakest for epoxy b.nded b.layers. The results presented here as of importance for dual electric and magnetic field tunab.e ferrite ferroelectric microwav. resonators and filters.

The present work proposes a nov.l radially cross-flow multistage solid-liquid circulating fluidized b.d （SLCFb.. The SLCFb.primarily consists of a single multistage column （hav.ng an inner diameter of 100 mm and length of 1.40 m）, which is div.ded into two sections wherein b.th the steps of utilization or loading （e.g., adsorption and catalytic reaction） and regeneration of the solid phase can b. carried out simulta- neously in continuous mode. The hydrodynamic characteristics were studied using ion exchange resin as the solid phase and water as the fluidizing medium. The loading and flooding states were determined for three particle sizes; i.e,. 0.30, 0,42, and 0.61 ram. The effects of the superficial liquid v.locity and solid feed rate on the solid hold-up were inv.stigated under loading and flooding conditions. The solid hold-up increases with an increase in the solid feed rate and decreases with an increase in the superficial liquid v.locity. An artificial-intelligence formalism, namely the multilayer perceptron neural network （MLPNN）, was employed for the prediction of the solid hold-up. The input space of MLPNN-b.sed model consists of four parameters, representing operating and system parameters of the proposed SLCFb. The dev.loped MLPNN-b.sed model has excellent prediction accuracy and generalization capab.lity.

Application of the alumo-b.ron-nitride heat-resistant structural ceramics allows distrib.tion of the thermal and mechanical loads on the metal-ceramic b.ade elements reasonab.y rationally from the thermotechnical point of v.ew. The ceramic shell, actually free of the mechanical effects, ab.orb. the heat from the high-temperature gas and serv.s as a shield for the strength core. The latter, b.ing loaded mechanically, is cooled with air, the flow thereof is mainly the function of the heat supply from the peripheral platform and ceramic shell, additionally separated b. a thin- wall metal screen from the core. Calculation of the pattern factors for the b.sic parts was performed at rating as applied to the nozzle v.nes and rotor b.ades of the 2.5 MW GTE with the gas temperature at the inlet TIT = 1623K. It was demonstrated that an admissib.e temperature lev.l of the mechanically loaded parts could b. achiev.d at the cooling air flows of 1.5%. Decreasing the power consumption on cooling allowed to get a high efficiency of the designed engine amounting to 42-43% (speed at rating is around 23,000 r/min). During rotation the length of the ceramic shell, installed loosely on the strength core, mov.s due to the action of the centrifugal forces and is pressed to the platform of the core. At the same time, a relativ.ly lower compressiv. stresses of around 40 MPa are generated in the shell which ensures a feasib.lity of a long-term reliab.e operation of the turb.ne.

b.anchio-oto-renal syndrome （b.R） is autosomal dominant disorder which generates hearing impairment and kidney failures in affected indiv.duals. The disease genomic maps were drawn b.ck in recent years, demonstrating, missense mutations responsib.e in disease were located in SIX1, EYA1 and EYA2 genes. We try to uncov.r molecular b.ology of the syndrome with b.oinformatics perspectiv., taking S1X1 and EYA2 protein interaction at center point. The study initiated with 23 natural mutations of SIX1 gene. They were first analyzed with prediction serv.rs like SIFT, PolyPhen2, I Mutant, SNPs＆GO, PHD-SNP and Panther, to identify their impact on their structural stab.lity and function. Sub.equently it narrowed down to sev.n consistent with our quest. They were analyzed on IUPred disorder prediction serv.r. Later SIX1 and its all mutant proteins were docked with EYA2 protein using GRAMM-X serv.r. The b.nding affinity of docked structures was analyzed using DFIRE2 algorithm. The results justify the earlier wet lab.ratory studies and indicate the reason b.hind them. Finally we summarize that the prov.n inactiv.ty of all other mutants is due to the structural disorder created b. mutations, hence usual molecular interaction is hindered; strangely protein interaction takes place at DNA b.nding site of SIX1 mutants.

A palladium catalyst immob.lized on superparaganetic nanoparticles was prepared with a palladium loading of 0.30 mmol/g. The catalyst was characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, v.b.ating sample magnetometry, thermograv.metric analysis, Fourier transform infrared, atomic ab.orption spectrophotometry, and nitrogen adsorption. The immob.lized palladium catalyst was an efficient catalyst without added phosphine ligands for the Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of sev.ral aryl b.omides with phenylb.ronic acid. The recov.ry of catalyst was simply b. magnetic decantation in the presence of a magnet. The immob.lized palladium catalyst can b. reused many times without significant degradation in catalytic activ.ty. No leaching of activ. palladium species into the reaction solution was detected.

The impact of human activ.ties in the past few decades has pav.d the way for the release of pollutants due to the improper effluent treatment. Recent studies rev.aled that, Ofloxacin, an antib.otic as one of the major pollutant affecting surface water and ground water. In this study, the radiolytic potential of Ofloxacin was inv.stigated. The effects of pH, dose and concentration of Ofloxacin were analyzed using One Factor At a Time (OFAT) and the interactiv. effects b.tween the parameters were studied using Face Centered Central Composite Design. The statistically optimised dev.loped model shows 30% degradation at initial antib.otic concentration of ImM at pH 3.0 and at 2 kGy dose of gamma ray. The process efficiency was ev.luated in terms of G v.lue and its correlation with the concentration of antib.otic was also estab.ished. The process of degradation was augmented b. the addition of H2O2 (1.5 mM). The reaction kinetics for the process was ev.luated, the dose rate constant and the rate of degradation for the augmented process was found to b. 0.232 kGy^-1 and 0.232 mM/kGy, respectiv.ly. The degraded metab.lites of the radiolytic degradation of Ofloxacin were analyzed through change in pH, reduction in TOC and GC-MS spectrum.
