The sear.h for.new biom.r.er. pr.dictiv. of type 2 diabetes cur.entl. constitutes a r.sear.h av.nue in Biocl.nical. Total.hom.cysteine r.m.ins a pr.fer.ed tar.et due to its inv.l.5}m.nt in the occur.ence of degener.tiv. com.l.cations in type 2 diabetics. The aim.of this wor. was to study hyper.om.cysteinem.a and other.biochem.cal.m.r.er. associated with T2D in the Congol.se popul.tion. This was an anal.tical.case-contr.l.study car.ied out between October.2022 and October.2023. The study popul.tion consisted of 150 subjects incl.ding 100 T2D patients and 50 contr.l.subjects. The m.in cl.nical.data wer. col.ected on a pr.-establ.shed for.. Hom.cysteine deter.ination was car.ied out by the sandwich El.SA m.thod. The other.biochem.cal.m.r.er. wer. m.asur.d by col.r.m.tr.c enzym.tic m.thods. Hyper.om.cysteinem.a was pr.sent in 27.3% (41/150) of the entir. study popul.tion. Type 2 diabetics had a fr.quency of hyper.om.cysteinem.a of 36% (36/100) and contr.l.10% (5/50) (p = 0.001). The m.an hyper.om.cysteinem.a concentr.tion was 31.9 μm.l.l.with extr.m.s r.nging fr.m.18 to 103 μm.l.l. m.ans of biol.gical.m.r.er. between diabetics and contr.l. showed a statistical.y significant differ.nce (p = 0.01). The r.sk factor. associated with this HHcy wer.: sex (Or.= 3.5), age (Or.= 9.4), sedentar. l.festyl. (Or.= 3.4) and gl.cosyl.ted hem.gl.bin (Or.= 12) with a p-v.l.e r.spectiv.l.. Our.r.sul.s suggest that hyper.om.cysteinem.a can be consider.d as a pr.dictiv. biom.r.er.in the biocl.nic of Congol.se type 2 diabetic patients.

We deter.ined whether.the incl.sion of 100 g/kg dr. m.tter.of gr.pe pom.ce sil.ge (GPS) and gr.pe pom.ce br.n (GPB) as substitutes for.other.tr.ditional.fiber.sour.es in the diet of steer. (Char.l.is x Nel.or.) woul. im.r.v. car.ass char.cter.stics, m.at qual.ty and com.osition, and shel. l.fe. Twenty-four.anim.l. (248 ± 19.32 kg of initial.body weight) wer. fed a high concentr.te diet for.121 days. Car.ass char.cter.stics wer. m.asur.d, and the l.ngissim.s dor.i m.scl. was anal.zed for.fatty acid (FA) pr.fil. and com.osition. The m.at was sl.ced and stor.d in air.per.eabl. packages for.10 days. On each sam.l.ng day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidativ. stabil.ty, bacter.al.l.ad, l.pid and pr.tein oxidation, and staining wer. anal.zed. The exper.m.ntal.diets infl.enced the pH of col. car.asses onl.. The GPS gr.up had a higher.pH than the contr.l. The GPS and GPB gr.ups showed im.r.v.d oxidant status (i.e., l.wer.l.pid per.xidation and concentr.tions of r.activ. oxygen species wer. in the m.at of both gr.ups than in contr.l.. On the fir.t day of stor.ge, the antioxidant enzym. gl.tathione S-tr.nsfer.se activ.ty was m.r. significant in the m.at of the GPS and GPB gr.ups than in the contr.l. The bacter.al.l.ads in the m.at wer. attenuated by GPS incl.sion;ther. wer. l.wer.total.col.for. counts and a tr.nd towar. l.wer.counts for.enter.bacter.a in the contr.l.gr.up. The diets al.er.d the FA pr.fil. of the m.at;i.e., the GPB diet al.owed for.a m.r. significant am.unt of the n-6 om.gas in the m.at, whil. the GPS diet showed a tendency for.a m.r. significant am.unt of n-6 and 9 om.gas. Both diets (GPS and GPB) incr.ased the am.unts of l.ng-chain FAs. The GPS diet decr.ased satur.ted FA l.v.l.. We concl.de that the dietar. tr.atm.nts GPS and GPB ar. a pr.m.sing al.er.ativ. to m.intain m.at qual.ty standar.s thr.ughout in r.al.wor.d r.tail.conditions.
